There's a hidden mechanic in the m40 bolt action sniper. You can zoom in the scope without changing the range by pressing + and - on the numpad.

I would love to play the marksman class but, that level 3 always gets it at the start of the game and ends up getting 2 kills
Thats whe you take one for the team and get that 15 sec tk penalty, and tk that level 3 once or twice for it, or simply stick around. FNG'S getting themselves killed
@YuriVII is that true? I've only TK'd someone on purpose like maybe 10 times, because they were killing the fresh spawned wave of people. It makes sense that it doesn't or it would be total chaos, people for machine guns and snipers. Thanks for telling me

Step 1: get an SSD and install RS2 on it
Step 2: plug in the ethernet cable wih the strongest internet avaliable in the country
Step 3: Join to the closest server possible
Step 4: Do a ritual with blood, extensive chanting and a pair of binoculars
Step 5: Download an autoclicker and set it to the fastest possible reaction time
Congratulations, you increased your chance of picking Marksman by 19,4 percent!

Haha that mg guy. It always annoys the hell out of me when I've found a good position and some Rambo walks up with his mg firing like a madman.
One time I miraculously found an empty marksman slot and grabbed it, but I had no idea what to do and couldn't hit a damn thing so I switched to scout. Next time I'll be ready to fulfil my destiny!
adjust sights, find a good vantage point, lead your shots if long range shooting

Although everybody knows that, regardless how fast you are, the Sniper class will be picked up by some level 2 noob that will get only 3 kills in the match anyway...

I just want to say thank you because before, I would get like 15 kills with a sniper, not bad, but not great, but after the guide, I went off for 43 kills, thank you
Here's a tip for the bolt action guns. The reload system in this game is just amazing. Say you have 2 rounds left, you want to reload back to the full 5. If you hit the reload key, what's gonna happen is that the round that's in the chamber is going to be ejected because you pulled the bolt out. So now you actually have to load in 4 individual bullets instead of just 3. Now if you use the 'manual bolt' action, after finishing firing, you can choose to cycle the bolt later. If you chose to reload after firing that round and NOT cycle, the empty bullet will get ejected and you will just fill in the 3 (continuing from the first scenario). This is more impactful for the bolt sniper rifles as you have to individually load 5 rounds since the scope gets in the way for a stripper clip use. Also if you forgot if you have cycled before or not and don't want to risk firing and giving away your position, hold the reload key (the check magazine routine). If the bolt is cycled, then the character would just check the mag. If it hasn't, the character would cycle it for you.

i am happy to say that i use this video all the time when i play sniper and that thanks to it i have achieved 60 kills in one game (hill of course). There's something really rewarding about being patient and thinking of the best tactics during a game, the utmost rewarding thing is being killed by an enemy sniper to then later relocate, find him thanks to thinking logically on where he would most likely be and then blow his fucking head out.
To find the range, mark an enemy with z and use the range below the mark
what sucks is some maps don't let you move around any flank because the map is too linear, and what really sucks is when you have a good position, but the game says you are too far behind enemy lines even when you have perfect shots on the enemys back.

One useless bit of info is if your barrel scuffs the ground whilst prone you can sometimes get your barrel to rise by crawling forward whilst aiming.
All these sniper positions don't require a scoped rifle. You can achieve the same results, or better depending on your proficiency with iron sights, with just about every rifle in the game. This makes sense as engagement ranges in this game are generally under 150m, well within the effective range of every assault and battle rifle in the game. I personally find the scope a hindrance, limiting target acquisition and field of view. You may want to consider renaming this guide to how to be a good rifleman!

It is really important to practice markmanship with non-scoped weapons before actually getting the sniper role
was playing Resort yesterday. SL was sniper. we landed on the left side of C (team attacking B)
we stayed low, well hidden, picked our shots carefully. i had the M14 (was a scout) rest of the team are mixed. either way, we let SL (the sniper) take the lead on shots.
if we couldnt make the shot because its too far, we'd spot em for the sniper. only 1 or 2 of us would shoot at a given time. slower paced shooting than usual so as to not give away our position...
we wrecked that left side hill and no one ever found us till we moved for E point.
Patience in this game is great for others than snipers too. I once crawled over half a map to destroy enemy tunnels that were in great position for them but I couldn't approach them running because it was quite open area I had to go through, so I crawled, took out few enemies that were coming my way, crawled some more and destroyed the tunnels. And just like that the whole left flank of the enemy was disabled.
You can also range find on some servers by pointing out enemies. The distance will show under the red x marker.

A lot of being good at sniper is learning common highways and defensive positions. Also knowing the ballistics of your sniper helps a lot. You kinda have to get used to the feel of the gun and it kinda becomes second nature. A lot of the time you just take the shot and not think about it too much. Attacking sniper often times has to play slightly more agressive to keep enemy heads down. Defensive snipers have more luxery to set themselves up in a nice camping spot. Usually you wouldn't find yourself adjusting your scope in most maps so it more useful to learn bullet drop on default sightings.
I'm watching this video knowing perfectly well that my computer is never fast enough to get the precious sniper slot
For anyone coming here in modern day, take note that picking a black guy is not always optimal, you stand out a lot more on certain maps and will get fire from absurd ranges depending on your environement. The safest bet is the hispanic one with the dlc camo combined with either a boonie hat or plain helmet. Highland ERDL is marginally better for urban maps like hue, while OD is generally good for rainy night maps like long tan. I also suggest avoiding the black tshirt at all costs because youre going to contrast with everything. ARVN dlc camos have a surprising amount of variety that can let you practically look like a vc from a distance so I suggest voting them whenever youre attacking.
In my first game as a sniper, I got called a hacker 4 times because I only hit headshots. All I could see was their heads lol.
Ya know, since people tend to pick snipers immediately, I snipe with my m14 or m2m, it requires more eye :D

Just the other day I managed to kill the enemy commander 3times in a row at a radio from behind using similar techniques. It was awesome.
Squadleader snipers can also drop amazing artillery marks. I think.
before picking sniper, you can practice at the Mosin/garand/M14 on the normal fighters.

I'm a pretty new player but I have fast Internet so I'm usually able to get the sniper. I think it's the most exciting role for me. However, if I see that after several minutes I'm not getting many kills and getting killed a lot, I try to be fair and switch to grunt to let others have a shot.

Im a very get up and go guy. Patience is not my strong suit. But after seeing how advantageous it is to wait and wait and wait I might have to work on become a patient man.
For me patience for sniper is what i learned through pain(dying). It’s not about not acting but to determine when to act through instinct, experience and situational awareness.
Same goes with using the m79 grenade launcher, you only get one shot and only like 9 or 12 in total (depending on the ammo you choose to bring) so you really have to be patient and strategic with ammo conversation, usage, and positioning. A fair amount of this video applies to being a good noob tuber also.
Wazer I play sniper or medic in multiplayer games to be useful and to survive longer than I would playing soldier

I played a shitton of RO2 and got very used to the drop on Kar98s and Mosins, and so it's weird for me now when I can actually get onto the class because there's usually a big increase in my kill count

20:40 Im pretty sure that in this game, the guns arent actually at your hip. in real life guns are usually shouldered almost all times, and in games like call of duty, him firing isnt realistic, since the bullets simply appear in your crosshair, unlike realistic games like tarkov where guns are always shouldered and firing without aiming can be life saving
