- It takes more than a love of languages to find success as a Cryptologic Language Analyst in the U.S. Air Force. Listen to Airmen discuss what makes a good fit for this critical career field.

I'm excited that the military has dropped the DLAB just in time for me to enlist in the Air Force. Looking forward to potentially starting a career as a linguist.
Hey are you still trying to become a linguist? How did everything go? I’m looking into it right now and was also told the DLAB was dropped so I’m really considering going Airborne linguist.
@ElizabethSanchez-jn9um I'm still trying to enlist. MEPS keeps asking for more medical stuff every month and it's just a waiting game at this point. Honestly, I'd be happy with linguist or cyber security at this point. Anything is better than my current job.
@@MrHarpguitaristI know how you feel, I just finally got out of a 2 month limbo where my recruiter was ignoring my texts and calls, I’m meeting with him Tuesday hopefully I can get through meps soon
back in the 70s I went to DLIWC in Monterey and learned Russian, then to Goodfellow AFB for classified tech training, then 6 years in Germany....I was called a 20350 and then the AF changed it to 208......is this the same thing?
Is there any possibility of me becoming an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist if I do not have normal color vision? My depth perception is fine and I have color corrective lenses.
yeah i scored a 1/14 on the color test (which is a totally unfair test in my opinion) and i’m on my way to becoming a linguist
@@TheLegendRicochet Airborne or ground? I’m a ground linguist rn.
@@aidanmcwhirter2612 ground.
@@TheLegendRicochet Do you know your language yet?
@@aidanmcwhirter2612 i dont think they tell you until basic right?
Does anyone know if you can get cryptologic language processing experience anywhere besides the military?
Can you choose to be a Ground CLA
Yes. Air and ground are two different AFSCs so when you sign your contract you’re signing up for specifically either ground or airborne
@@naodamdetsyon6929 ok cool
How stable is the flight? Do people get motion sickness?
Sad that I'm too short for airborne
Same 😩
god bless your all🌍👍🖖💝💝💝
I am 15 years old and i speak Russian, my family is from Ukraine, but I don’t know Ukrainian. I an understand Russian completely, but sometimes when i speak i mess up cause i live in the USA and it not the language i hear 24/7. What can i do with this? How hard will it be for me to become a translator? I also would really love to travel to Eastern Europe again, but this time to translate to English. How can i do this?
