This is like the two half’s of my mind sharing a story from the same night at the same time
Dude at 4:00 you can definitely tell Pete doesn't read the script, and is totally baffled by John's quick witted joke of his 54 year 3-some window. SNL needs these guys.
Well John Mulaney is also infamous for breaking the script or changing it up last minute. So this might be one of those occasions
No he’s just extremely high
john writes for SNL and pete is a regular on the show thank god
John has been a writer for the show since 2006 ish behind the scenes. He's a God of the show.
John wrote the bits for Stefon and he used to get Bill Hader to crack up all the time because he changed things at the last minute.
So happy to see Pete doing better on SNL, and publically addressing the elephant in the room. So glad they had him on the front burner last night, where he belongs.
So like I'm rlly dumb so can someone tell me what the elephant in the room is? Also when Pete said "I didn't mention her once" who was he talking about??
So basically, Pete was dating Ariana Grande(pop singer) and they got engaged after dating publicly for a few weeks, then broke off the engagement, and Pete posted a tweet insinuating that he was going to commit suicide not long after their break up.
@Shade Bleu wow you are just the worst kind of person aren't you
@@luenardo I agree with him, and just wish Pete went through with it so we could stop hearing about this unfunny manchild who looks like Slim Shady and Gary Busey's illegitimate ass baby.
Good vibes to John and everyone fighting for sobriety
This. So proud of our Tiger Mom for doing what he needs to do to heal.
A regular segment of them commenting on anything at all would be amazing.
MsBettyR. It could be the next Operaman
MsBettyR. Yes, that would be great to see. ;)
Did pete say "i didnt mention her once. We did it" 😂
when hes not taking him to steely dan concerts he's taking him to clint eastwood movies. Grandpa friend.
I need a grandpa friend to take me to a steely Dan concert. Rockin' out to peg and hey nineteen
John Mulaney is a surprise saint.
Pete trying to hide his laughter behind John is so adorable
i know its so cute
Just when I thought infinity war was the greatest crossover ever…
Amy June look up the story of Mulaney telling Jimmy Fallon about taking Pete to a steely dan concert... it’s amazing!
It is unbelievably nice to see Pete and John together.
More John Mulaney and Pete Davidson bits please. I need this.
They get on Jimmy Fallon to do one of his games.
I agree! They are funny together.
I agree... they are hilarious together
When John talked about showing Pete the sober life, I assumed that he was lying and hiding his addiction in that moment time. But I read that he didn't actually relapse until 2020. So he truly was clean during this segment. I'm glad that he's come out on the other side in the present day.
It's weird that everyone is surprised by their friendship when John Mulaney has mentioned Pete being with him during several events. Like the time he took Pete to a Steeley Dan concert.
Yes, and they led the seated crowd to finally stand at the concert for "My Old School". Also, Pete thought Steely Dan was a comedian when he agreed to go.
Its more weird that you think its weird
I don't think it's weird at all. But the guy in the opening was like "you guys are friends?" And seemed to think it was odd
Hold for applause
Please do more movie reviews. In fact, Pete and John need to start their own movie review channel on TH-cam. I would really love that!
Along with Jebidiah Atkinson.
I saw them a few weeks ago, they “reviewed” Green Book 😄
Pete dying at John's jokes at the end had me on the floor
John Mulaney and Pete Davidson are like brothers that went different directions but ended up in the same place and I love them
This sketch made me want to see The Mule.
i want to see the mulaney
Saw it last night it was great!
@@davidcascadian4105 Haha yes he does! 💯
After watching The Mule, this makes me see it in a totally different way, lol.
Don't. It's a terrible movie.
John is such a naturally funny guy and I really like Pete. I don’t understand all the crap he gets. He’s troubled. But I got a mental illness too. It’s not easy but he’s able to laugh at himself. He seems like a sweet guy. He’s cute in a way too. I hope he keeps healing.
Sherisse The AfroPunk Entrepreneur
@@LeMan8o4 that was just a joke and it's nothing compared to the fact that she used him as a rebound
@@kaam.. Everyone uses someone as a rebound....how many dudes are out here tampering with their girlfriends birth control tho? Cuz ain't nothing funny about that!
Sherisse The AfroPunk Entrepreneur I love Pete! He’s a real person and we all have issues at some point. Keep your head up!
♥️
This is how you write a double-act routine. You can so clearly see their comedic styles fusing together and it's wonderful. I know they did a mini-tour together so I really hope it gets turned into a special at some point.
omg i need them performing together where bo burnham joins them too
I saw them together at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood FL. They were awesome.
" You are loved by many and we are glad you are okay."
That's so fucking sweet.
i love pete so much,, it’s so obvious that john cares about pete at the end when pete seemed to be drained 💗
haleygrace p
I'm sold!!!!! Pete Davidson and John Mulaney are now the official SNL movie critics!!!!!!
Don't you mean "now" instead of "not"?
(As in, "Pete and John are NOW the official SNL movie critics!")
Aww, when pete says i never mentioned her once
Rania Abdulghani i thought i was the only one that saw that!
Mention who?
@@emilybradford9458 Arianna Grande.
@@LeonimuZ Who?
When did he say it??
The way Pete hides behind John when he’s laughing and John Just is like gently nudging him is so beautiful I don’t know
Meanwhile, Andy Garcia sits at home trying to figure how he was rude at "a Lakers game once".
Well, John drops a pretty big hint when he says that in his fantasy movie, Andy Garcia will move his legs so that John can get to his seat.
He knows what he did! >_
oh these two are a terribly powerful combination of human beings
I’m just so glad that Lorne is letting Pete do stuff like this. It seems to good for him, and if he’s become friends with John it’s even better
Joe Haden dude wtf is your problem? So called “I have a life” yet you’ve replied to at least three different comments expressing how you don’t give a shit about Pete. Like buddy, clearly your life isn’t that interesting and you care enough to comment...
The retrospective irony of 2019 John advising Pete on a “sober, domestic life” seems to be lost on EVERYONE
LITERALLY
John really breathed life into SNL again. His work with Pete is both outstanding and surprising.
that is how you tell a suicide joke properly. This whole thing was so funny
In a weird way, It's like the N word.
“I didn’t mention her once” HE IS JUST TOO MUCH
why is this the most heartwarming thing snl have ever aired
Mulaney is such a natural comedian, seems effortless.
even his cadence is funny
Omg who caught Pete’s eye roll when John Mulaney touched his arm at 1:08 😂😂
1:14 “oh this guy!”
1:16 “I know what I’m gonna respond”
we love a father son relationship
It's so nice to see John with Al Pacino
I have suffered from acute cinical depression since I was 9. I am now 40, and it is still a struggle. Bless you Pete.
MrsPoodle78 then let’s see the mule together
@Bugsy "stay"?????
I hope Pete has a long and happy life
He is The Mule.
Who here would go see the Mule-aney opening night?
And give a standing ovation to the scene where Andy Garcia moves his freaking legs.
I won’t because he’ll be dead . Petunia said he will die in 2037
I'd hope he would cast me to be in the 3way.
see ya there
Pete's reaction to John and other comedians makes any sketch even better because it's so genuine. He's like "Screw not breaking in front of the camera. It's funny."
So John ISNT Pete’s father?
Pete's father is dead, man.
Lol. He died in 9/11
Asha Kartha so obvious now. My bad.
Huge small childs can't have children.
@@Harambae613 Especially when they stay up so late.
"...the mule"
"THE MULE!"
"The mule"
Pete looks good, been a fan of his before the drama and still a fan now. Glad he got rid of the ridiculous hair and I hope he really finds happiness
Same!! It was so unfortunate to watch him be reduced to just Ariana's boyfriend. I kept wanting to scream at the tabloids, I LIKED HIM BEFORE SHE EVEN MET HIM
@@astridjohnson965 right and I've heard people say that he's only popular because of Ariana but like, he did have a fan base beforehand
@@brandondembowski5545 but now you can say that Ariana used him, made him a target by Social media, then left him to deal with the consequences on his own...
real upstanding woman, that Ariana...
@cm. CG I mean, yeah, but he looked 3/4 dead before.
Nathaniel Hagan bruh, he did that to himself tbh. When you enter a relationship, how you represent and respect eachother extends past just y’all two. He made an ass out of himself repeatedly, with just HIS mouth.
She doesn’t owe him anything for making himself look foolish. Same is true on both sides
Why is this easily the funniest sketch ive seen on snl in forever
I was waiting for this. And it was so worth the wait. My most favorite person Pete Davidson is back. Him and John Mulaney are hilarious together. Definitely need more of them.
Same.
John: Tony Stark
Pete: Peter Parker
☝️
Honestly
Yeah but if peter was a depressed recovering addict
no
I’d say more the other way round, going mostly off of the three way comment. If Tony and Peter were the same age and also college roommates maybe?
This is the comedy duo I didn’t know I needed in my life.
John’s realization of what’s coming and then INCREDULOUSLY JOYFUL nod at “TWO THREESOMES” at 3:55 might be the best part of this bit
