Hello Gawa. Thank you for another all time favourite recipe 🥧🥧 I see you are heading for 20k subscribers, well done , keep up the good work , always appreciated. 💗💗🌞🌞
Thank you for sharing Gawa just a quick question, this 2023 Milk Tart Recipe "biscuit" base is very much different from the one you did 2 years ago. Any particular reason we should know of, not sure witch one is the "better" one. Much appreciated,
@@gawaskitchen Thank you for the response 😃 It makes definitely more "biscuit base" so one could have some left for alternative baking like your small apple strudel style bakes or freeze for a smaller batch of baking for later. Keep well, look forward to many more interesting recipes from you.
Asslm Gawa, this milk tart looks incredibly delicious and mouth watering 😋 I really didn't know that u can mix the fresh milk with the condensed milk...their I've learned something new again alhamdulilah 🙏It's nice to eat if it's still lukewarm...with the winter approaching us now 😘 Shukran🙏 ❤♥️♥️ and jumuah Mubarak to u and your family 👨👩👧👦

Hi Gawa. I'm having an issue where my milk tart crust keeps floating to the top. I've tried refrigerating/freezing the base. I've tried baking 30 min bottom shelf then 30 min top shelf. It still happens. Do you have any advice. I haven't baked it in glass pyrex like you did, not sure if that's the issue. Any advice?
Try using Pyrex but I have made it in normal baking dish and it never did that, make sure u have no holes or air bubbles when pressing your dough in pan then place it in freezer make sure your mixture is not to hot when pouring on the base and pre heat your oven, hope that helps🙏
@@gawaskitchen I just remembered that I added quite a bit of baking powder to the crust mixture - didn't have self raising flour so added normal flour with baking powder. Like 2 tablespoons. Do you think its possible that the baking powder caused air bubbles to form in the dough which caused it to rise when heated in the oven? I did press it firmly though into the dish to make sure there were no bubbles but maybe I missed them.

@josephblack7869 not sure but try it with the selfraising flour and see how it goes🙏
I find if my milk mixture has cooled completely, then my crust does not rise to the top.
@@ruwaydamathee1258 I used the self raising flower instead of baking soda. Seems to have solved the issue.
Hi must i put in self-raising flour
The base is 2 cups cake flour 2 cups selfraising flour
@@gawaskitchen yes I know but is it necessary for the self-raising flour
@JanineMitchell-jj9mr I've only ever made it with both cake and selfraising flour but u can try doing cake flour only and add baking powder
Is the flour by weight or cup
I always use cake measuring cups, add your flour lightly to your measuring cups never press it down just gently use a knife and remove excess flour
