0:46 I wonder if this is CD-i emulation, or the remaster made a year or two ago in GameMaker specifically for PCs. It's a very well-done recreation and restoration by an enthusiast.
Still, one thing you can say for this game, judging form the length here: It doesn't overstay its welcome or overextend the joke. :D

looking beyond the surface, there were some hidden, actually innovative-gems, within this oddball game
10/10 would watch the other two CDI games
Wait a second, the credits mention it's a "Remastered" version - I did some digging and apparently the whole game has been recreated in Game Maker by a fan (for whatever reason). This is crazily impressive!
Apparently the controls also have been "improved", can't imagine how the original CD-i version must play.

honestly, i think i _do_ understand what dale desharone and jonathan merritt were going for
the only _real_ issues, in my mind, were the janky controls, a few "questionable" game mechanics here & there, and some bad hitbox collision - all of which, a more seasoned game developer would have averted

of course it was obviously all drawn in microsoft paint (windows 3.1 edition)

as barb alluded to: its chintziness is a part of the charm
i rather liked the _animations_ ..... i think i understand igor razboff's vision
(i wonder if eeg is still with us - it has been about 30 feckin' years now since game release!)
secretly, i feel like people _had,_ through the intervening years, been biting off his style - certain Vine creators, for instance

I really enjoyed this. It was always made out to be horrible. It's very charming and reminds me of the Zelda cartoon they showed on The Super Mario Brothers Super Show.

Since this software seems to be a fan-made remastered version for Windows/Linux, I wonder if Barb played with a genuine CD-i game-controller/gamepad/touchpad (or whatever they are officially called) for an "authentic experience." (maybe they'll need a modification to connect to a modern I/O port and it isn't worth the pain)

Some people seem to think Poo is a douchebag, but, the first time I saw him he was the most humble person I had seen in a long time. Loved watching this, actually doesn't seem like a horrible game when someone competent plays it, but whoever designed the controls was dropped on their head repeatedly as an infant.
The recent remake with QoL updates play far better then the original.
This game is 10000% more playable on an emulator with a controller. Trying to use the CD-i remote to play this shit is what made it so infuriating 😂
