I was shocked by some of the development that had appeared in Craster in recent years. Huge glass frontages and sterile driveways are changing the character of the town. Surely they have no place on this beautiful, traditional coast? What are planners thinking?
You couldn’t have picked a quieter day to visit. It’s purgatory during august and sept. I make sure I’m somewhere else (Romania at the mo). Yes most people do mainly live in the “council houses”. Very few are council owned. Recently one was snapped up for offers over £675,000. As a kid the population was 370 it’s now around 130.
It is truly a beautiful place to visit. We always visit in May when it is fairly quiet. You are very lucky to live in such idyllic place. We will be back next year
Great video! My wife and I hope to visit Craster when we come to stay in Alnwick for a few days.

I said exactly the same when I was there 4weeks ago...
Thanks for uploading this, another part of the wonderful "undiscovered country"
