holy crap! it actually worked i have my dads 30 year old genisis with old game carts and i did this glitch and it worked blue knuckles is so cool looking! also i have looked for videos like this one for ages trying to get blue knuckles on real hardware thanks bro!

What Happens if you go to Save files it it won't work?
It worked, also when you complete a special stage it says Miles got a chaos emerald, regardless of your region.

Unfortunately no. Not that I've been able to figure out. You can always try other methods though, they just won't work on official hardware.
