I personally think its ridiculous that Pete Rose is banned from the hall of fame. Just because he bet on his games, one of the greatest players of all time will never see the inside of the hall of fame
He knew the rules, he broke them, and it certainly didn't help that he denied it for nearly 15 years. Gambling nearly destroyed baseball back in 1919, so it should come to no shock to anyone that is one line you can't cross with baseball.
piplh I understand that, but BANNED FROM THE HALL OF FAME!! That was completely unnecessary. None of the gambling affected the outcome of a game, so why did they have to punsih him like he took steroids?
piplh I don't get it, how does gambling destroy baseball, its not like people are stealing money out of the baseball player's pockets. I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, I know nothing about baseball or it's history.
Are you kidding? Imagine if Sean Payton bet on saints games. During the game he call questionable plays and substitutions or Kevin Durant betting on thunder games and was missing shots. That is what Pete rose did BOTH as a player and manager. He said he only bet on the reds to win. He also said for 20 years he never bet on baseball. What do you believe?
I'm not defending steroid users, but I always considered gambling a bigger crime than juicing. Juicers are cheating to win the game, gamblers only want to win their bet, not the game. Also, if Rose ever does get reinstated to baseball, odds are he'll have to be voted into the Hall just like most everyone else, and odds are he won't ever get the 75% of votes required. Reinstating Rose will also open the worms to reinstate the 1919 Black Sox. Honestly, I think the writers will be more willing to vote in Shoeless Joe Jackson in the hall than Rose.
FalkonX3000 That's too far (I'm American) I don't believe we are the best, I would rather live in Greenland (most peaceful country in the world, even nicer than Canada (and Canada tends to be really nice))
FalkonX3000 come on really? This is why other countries have a love, hate relationship with us. Of course America is great but we don't have to be our chest about it. America's ego is basically on kanye west's level.
Just shows what's wrong with this world. WatchMojo.com would rather verbally mock M. Vick for harming and killing dogs. Turned his life around and changed as a person by helping animals, but not say a thing about Pistorius who killed his Wife or Sandusky who Molested children.
Wait OJ Simpson was a football player? Just know him as the dude who murdered his wife and her boyfriend. Anyway why is it all American sports, where are the Luis Suarez bites, that should have at least made the honorable mention
I don't think Woods should of been on this list. Drugs, betting, hurting others I can understand. Cheating?? Not so much. That's a personal thing he and his wife should deal with personally. Not the public's business.
Its not that he did illegal or necessarily bad things it was the fact that he was a big deal and then after the truth came out he lost many tournaments
I think Tiger's downfall has more to do with how drastically his play on the courses has declined since the incident. He used to own the links, now he's average at best.
If he had cheated with only one girl I would've agree with you. But he pretty much cheated with every girl he came across. Apparently he had over 120 different affairs....
I mean this stuff goes both ways. Just now Formula 1 pilot julias bianchi went into coma, because money hungry idiots wanted to hold a competition in pooring rain. Athleats are usually adviced by their trainers to use drugs and yet they take full responsibility. MMA fighters have prolonged careers even if they have critical health issues. I love sports, but this fucking enterntainment on TV makes me sick. Armstrong issue was incredible brutal, what a fucking circus.
you cant bet on the game you play or coach. people cant seem to wrap their heads around that. it puts the integrity of the game into question. think of it this way. what if pete carroll bet on seahawk games? what if carmelo anthony was placing bets on the knicks? it will make you question every decision they make. "was he putting up bad shots on purpose?" "why did he put in the rookie DB to face brandon marshall? etc"
Sting Rey I agree with what you are saying Sting Rey, and correct me if I am wrong, but I remember reading that Pete Rose never bet that his team would lose. If he isn't betting on them to lose, there is no real reason to question his moves as a manager or player, because he is (presumably) making moves to help his team win. Again, I agree that you can't bet on the sport you are playing or coaching, and your points are valid ones, I just don't think they fit the Rose case (unless I am wrong of course).
Brad R. pete rose said he never bet on his team to lose. he also said he never bet on baseball. 20 years later he admits it. how do we not know he isnt lying about betting on his team to win too? also you dont just bet on wins and losses. rose could have been gambling on the over/unders as well. we dont know. ie. reds vs cards- total 11 runs. pete bets on the over. score in the 9th inning. reds 7 cards 3. he puts in a bum relief pitcher who gives up a two run homer. final score reds 7 cards 5. pete wins.
Sting Rey Oh I understand the concept of sports betting, and again, I agree with you. TBH I hadn't really considered the over/under bets, but they don't seem like good bets from a person in his position... they require too many variables to fall in to place. But hey, that's why it's called gambling right?... haha
What Pete Rose did, should not put him on a list with a child molester, a dog killer, and a murderer, but the MLB thinks so. What a joke! Nobody played the game harder, and nobody deserves to be in the Hall of Fame more than Charlie Hustle.
I think the fans of baseball were hurt the most with the ban of Pete Rose. he never gave the fans a reason to dislike him. he basically hurt himself with everyone helpless to save him.
Pete Rose was NOT worse than Chris Benoit and Jerry Sandusky if Watchmojo.com is going to rank people and their bad deeds seriously then they need to do that the MLB has such a bad attitude they sound like satire people need to get a damn grip of the facts!
Jacob Quinn actually I think Chris Benoit shouldn't have been on the list, he didn't fall from grace. he killed himself(I know there is more). falling from grace implies that you live to see your own demise. anyways, it wasn't about the deed, it was about fall. sure, people do the same things but since they are unknown, nobody sees it. or if it makes it to TV, maybe.
FFS! apart from about 3, this list should be Falls from grace in sports by AMERICANS. enough! there are 196 countries in the world. each country has had sports fall from grace's. expand WM!
Watchmojo isn't encyclopedia, they're TH-cam channel with 3-4 videos per day. They obviously won't go head-over-heels to do thorough research just so every country in the world would be happy. Americans are the world's leading sports country in the world, they get the most publicity, and Watchmojo aren't Europeans either, so it's only natural it's more about Americans than others. Get a grip.
I agree man football is the most watched sport on the planet with 3.3 billion fans world wide about 40% of earths population, and Zidane wasn't even mentioned for being disgracefully kicked out of his last national game and the world cup.
Apart from football/soccer America has the biggest sport leagues in the world so it makes sense that most major sport stars falls from grace are from America
Hanse Cronje (SA) Cricket, Match Fixing. later dies in plane crash Mazhar Majeed (PAK) Cricket, match fixing. hefty ban (life i think) Diego Maradona (ARG) Union Football, drug abuse Zidane (FRA) Union Football, more famous for his headbutt during the final of the 2006 World Cup Joost van der Westhuizen (SA) Rugby, sex scandals rocked his post-rugby carrer. now suffering from MND and if they continue on their current paths, Luis Saurez and Mario Ballotelli will also join these ranks. also Kurtly Beale
Chris Benoit was probably the first highly covered incident of an athlete with CTE killing another human (he killed his wife and son) and proceeded to kill himself. the media focused on steroids at the time so its an easy incident for a non wrestling fan to forget, but lets not overlook its significance in the now ever so pressing issue of head trauma in pro sports.
You should do a top 10 list of dumb, repetitive comments that people make on all of your videos. 1. "Why are your videos so focused on America?" (Because they're Canadian) 2. "Why no HD?" (Lack of HD source video) 3. "Y U no include dis or dat?" (probably because it wasn't suggested on their site) 4. "What's the song name?" (Darude-Sandstorm) I'm sure you can come up with 6 more.
7. Racial slurs, personal attacks, sexism, homophobia and death threats that come up on the comments on every single video on youtube ever in the history of the man
Wow watchmojo, that was an unnecessary shot at Michael Vick. I am in no way condoning what Vick did but he did his time and as someone from the Philadelphia area, he was nothing but a class act. He was involved in numerous charitable activities, spoke out against animal violence, and was very forthcoming and genuinely remorseful over his atrocious acts. He definitely deserved to be on this list but those ending comments were completely unprofessional.
Hey Check out these other crazy falls from grace and sports related clips! Top 10 Falls from Grace in Business and Politics Top 10 Celebrity Falls From Grace Top 10 Unsportsmanlike Moments in Pro Sports Top 10 Crazy Moments in Sports
Well, this should be called "falls from grace in American sports", otherwise, you shouldn't skip Diego Maradona's positive dopping in USA 94 World Cup...
Marion Jones was the hardest to take for me. I like her so much and was so happy for her when she got her medals. She paid a heavy price for her steroid use. I think even though she did time in prison, lost her medals, the toughest thing for her was knowing she could have won without them. Only 23 years old, “Aaron Hernandez suffered the most severe case of chronic traumatic encephalopathy ever discovered in a person his age, damage that would have significantly affected his decision-making, judgment and cognition, researchers at Boston University revealed at a medical conference Thursday.”
I remember watching the TDF back in the day thinking something wasn't right with Armstrong. He just had unnatural stamina. The guy could make multiple sprints to stop others getting away on those gruelling mountain stages then once they were all tired launch an attack of his own and do it stage after stage. Granted quite a few of the opponents were juicing too.
Gimme a break, let Pete Rose in already, so he gambled on a few games, its not like he did drugs, beat up animals, or cheated on his wife or raped a chick. He deserves to be in the HOF, one of the best players of all time
+Carlos Ortiz he didn't kill his daughter. He killed his son. If it was his daughter, who knows if he still would've killed her. And it is speculated that he "blacked out" from it. Xanax was found in ALL of the bodies. And you can "black out" for two days. So maybe he didn't make the "direct" decision of killing them. And if he took it after they died. How can he have killed himself? He hanged himself with a pulley but how can you do that when your "sedated". I'm not defending him but how can you do that? His mind was already damaged. So how can he have killed himself with a pulley? If his brain was so brain damaged then how could do that?
I wear a Livestrong bracket a lot. People come up to me a lot and ask "do you support doping." No I don't. I support cancer research which is what Livestrong is
Cancer research is *NOT* what Livestrong is. Not saying that the services Livestrong provided were not a positive for the people they helped, but cancer research was not what the organization did. Full disclosure. I hate Lance Armstrong, and I hate that people give him a pass because they incorrectly think his charity did cancer research.
I'd put Ben Johnson higher, and I'm a Canadian! An entire nation was let down by this man, not just once, but three separate times. And through it all, he never admitted that he was wrong in doing it. Furthermore, when Donovan Bailey finally redeemed our faith in our track athletes, we couldn't really enjoy it as much because of the memory of what Ben had done. I'd also put Lance Armstrong at number 1, because it wasn't just that he cheated and denied it, but so many were inspired by him because he beat cancer to become what he was. And I really believe he didn't need to cheat, he probably would have won many of his races without drugs.
How'd Sandusky or Peterno not make the list, but Michael Vick did? He apologized for his crimes gave back to animal charities and learned his lesson, his fall from grace was awful, but his comeback to me at least was a better story
i know his fall has nothing really to do with crimes, but Allen Iverson always comes to mind when I think falls from grace. he was one of the best and his own selfish pride and ego was his own downfall.
Don't talk about Michael Vick like that, if you people knew anything about what you were talking about you would understand that Vick now is not anything like 2007 Vick. He is a completely changed man, one who has accepted and faced his past, and one who has learned to become a responsible athlete who carries himself with modesty. Also, being the Jets backup QB is not an accomplishment.
Michael vick did so much to get back in good grace with the league and public. not saying that what he did was right, but he served his time. You guys were very unfair to him
I think it is illegal because, for example if you bet against your team, you could tank the game and lose. It damages the integrity of the game. But I do think they should let Rose into the HOF.
Cerith Burrows he can use his best reliever one night maybe give a star the day off when hes not betting I mean im all for putting rose into the hof but a manager is more than a guy of the street
The biggest fall from grace for me would always be Chris Benoit considering that his persona is a huge part of the sport he's in. A wrestler who's mostly always a face character and loved by all, all of a sudden is proven of familicide
Steroids isn't a big deal for the thousands of garbage players who have used them. Only the great ones are put under scrutiny. There would be a list of like 30 players who tested positive for steroids and only a-rod or Barry bonds will get shit for it
If these sports "stars" were paid less, I believe there would be less scandals: cheating, doping and violence. _"The love of money is the root of all evil."_
How could they miss MIKE TYSON on this list? Tonya Harding was a true bitch, but she shouldn't make this list over Tyson. He was convicted of rape and served years in prison, just months after losing his first ever fight, along with all the heavyweight titles. Tyson was at least a top 5 "fall from grace," but here they didn't even give him a mention. Major miss.
Mike Tyson fall from grace? This is a guy who said "I'll fuck you til you love me faggot, I'll eat your children" during a pre-fight weigh in. Is that considered grace to you?
Marco van Basten? Ronaldo? Ronaldinho? Even people below have mentioned Maradona, I'm surprised that you didn't include some of the best players from the most popular sport on Earth.
Ray rice knocked out his fiance for god sake!! Adrien peterson abused his. Child and you only mention michael vick for dog fighting!! Sure it was a bad thing but he served his time and has put that behind him but ray rice did something that was way worse and on video!!!!
Please call this western world falls from grace. I mean seriously, this list involves Americans in every single spot except Pistorius. A South-African Hansie Cronje match-fixed in a game called cricket (the 2nd most popular sport in the world) and was hated by all. This is similair with NZ cricketers Chris Cairns and Lou Vincent and Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammed Amir and Mohammed Sami but Cronje wore a necklace that had WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) and was the first man to be found match-fixing in cricket.
I'm shocked that there was no mention of Rae Carruth of the Carolina Panthers for having his pregnant girlfriend killed...Or even Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder for his drunken racial remarks that utterly destroyed his sports commentating career...
Chris Benoit should've totally been on this list as more than just an honorable mention. He broke the stereotype in wrestling that you need a 6'6 meathead as champion. A guy around 6'0 and can really work also deserves a shot. After finding out that he killed his family in a murder suicide WWE hilariously decides to delete him from all their archives and bans any mention of him in any WWE event. They even deleted a Wrestlemania, WWE's greatest event, from existence.
since all of them weren't American what about Ben cousins one of the biggest downfall in Australian sports winning a brown low (Aussie rules MVP) and a premiership ( Championship) the guy pretty much threw away his AFL career away taking drugs and i dont remember one day when he wasn't in the news at the time ( Im a Richmond tigers supporter not eagles)
I think john Terry could have been a honourable mention. Cheated on his wife with his best friend and team mates girlfriend racial abuse and loosing the UCL final in 2008 for chelsea. I like john but I could see why he could make this list.
Tiger Woods cheated. Someone please explain to me how what he does in his personal life has anything to do with his golfing carrier? This is what confuses me about stuff like this, personal life stuff should be just that.
Kaelin AmbroseRollinsReigns it's not a sport for a million reasons.. and the #1 reason is that the winners are determined and scripted before the event, which eliminates any chance of it being a "sport"..
Ok you know what FUCK YOU I hate you people oh it's fake oh it's scripted you try falling off a 15 high hell in a cell onto a table like mick foley did and still try and tell me it's not a sport
Austin Blanchard oh shut up.. I'm 30 and used to love wrestling when I was younger.. I know wrestling.. Mick Foley getting thrown off the cell WAS scripted.. I watched that live.. of course it hurts when they take insane bumps.. of course they're some of the most athletic people out there.. but it's scripted entertainment, not a competition.. there's a reason it's not covered by ESPN or any other sports media..
I don't know. If there's one thing this video was a reminder of its that there are lots of sports where literally everyone involved in it is cheating. Is there really that much difference between a sport that's faked by scripting and a sport that's faked through cheating?
I think Chris Beniot should've been ranked on the somewhere on the list. Compared to the gamblers, steroid users, and Tiger Wooders, Chris Beniot really fucked up professional wrestling for everyone
Too much America for me... At least IF you decided to take so much american athletes, you could have at least left out baseball and tie thing you call "football" and kept it olympic sport only.
In american sports or..? Not a single one from the worlds biggest sport, football. Not a single European on the list. What the hell, there's so many scandals..
Last time I went to a hockey game a guy pinned another guy to the wall and started screaming at him as loud so possible. This happened 2 times with 4 different people
Lance Armstrong is the one that really drove me nuts. I had zero interest in biking. In 2003 I went to Germany with friends and every night we went out "Lance Armstrong is a cheater! George Bush is a tyrant!" Of course I couldn't defend Bush but at that time Lance was a superstar that beat cancer! He was an American hero! So we spent half our time defending his cheating arse. Man did they hate him over there lol. I've rarely seen a group of people hate someone as much as the Germans hated Lance Armstrong. Hell in 2003 they already knew he was a cheater.
O1l2f5i nope, grew up with a best friend who was German. hearing the german language brings me back to childhood. :) many people don't realize that there is a whole other world across the pond. and some sports are loved, that the US doesn't even care about. so this Tour De France is a lot closer to Germany, so I can imagine everyone in Europe is pissed
I am a cycling fan from Switzerland and in 2003 we already knew that... almost every cyclist was a cheater ☹️ Armstrong, Ullrich, Pantani, Riis, Zuelle, Basso, Virenque etc.. noone was clean
Chris Benoit was just sad and for Vick. I didn't care at all. It felt way overblown and I think that was used to cover up another news story that was more important at the time.
Alex Meyer my point is compared to how high Lance Armstrong was, OJ was a nobody, no one even knew who he was outside of America until the trial! So even though Armstrong didnt fall as low the fall was actually larger. Ya get what im saying?
Deco5757 Sort of, but just because O.J. Simpson wasn't widely known outside of America before his trial in the 90s doesn't mean he didn't deserve to be #1. I mean, when my parents were kids, O.J. Simpson was considered the best football player in America. Millions of kids idolized him.
9 Americans and one south African why watchmojo don't you open your mind to athletes around the world and in other sports like football as in Paul gasocaine
Wat about the whole black sox scandal in the 1920s and the guy dubbed the best player ever who is banned from the hall of fame? I don't remember his name
It's not like Pete Rose played bad on purpose and bet on the other teams. It makes no sense to ban a guy who bets on his own team winning when most steroid users in baseball get off scott free.. in comparison.
I personally think its ridiculous that Pete Rose is banned from the hall of fame. Just because he bet on his games, one of the greatest players of all time will never see the inside of the hall of fame

SHOTS FIRED😂😂😂
Lemme guess: They used "The Juice" too?
Ouch
while thats not funny, i found it funny.
You sir, win internet for the day.
18 holes in one day..........and I still find time to play golf ~ Tiger Woods 2014
What Vick did was horrible but he served his time and it is very obvious that he has changed for better and is much MUCH more mature
Haven't watched it yet, but I reckon there are a lot of Americans on this list as well.
I agree. Id say at least 6
You people are so sad.
American are the best. no one is better than us.
FalkonX3000 That's too far (I'm American)

in a nutshell: most entries here involved with Steroids
Being from ATL I can tell you that Mike Vick is still loved to this day from a lot of....black people that live in ATL,
This is the first sports related WM video as far as I can recall, and it's a fall from grace video? No love for sports at all.
They have an entire sports playlist lol
Needs more Essendon Football Club.
Pops up in my list to watch a few days after Woods wins the Masters.
Apparently serving 2 years in Leavenworth prison for funding a dog fighting operation, is not enough.
You should do 1 on singers and in the acdc drummer
Surprised to see Gascoigne didn't make this
Ray Rice is the new o.j Simpson of the NFL
Pete rose should be in the Hall of Fame
Yes
Vick payed his dues,people!
Why is Tiger on the list? He just cheated in bed, not on the greens
Wait OJ Simpson was a football player? Just know him as the dude who murdered his wife and her boyfriend. Anyway why is it all American sports, where are the Luis Suarez bites, that should have at least made the honorable mention
luis suarez got signed to barcelona for 75 million euros and he is gonna play el clasico game between real madrid and barcelona
Mike Tyson? I would even put him at number one.
I agree with you, but this is just about downfall no matter what the reason is.
I think Tiger's downfall has more to do with how drastically his play on the courses has declined since the incident. He used to own the links, now he's average at best.
If he had cheated with only one girl I would've agree with you. But he pretty much cheated with every girl he came across. Apparently he had over 120 different affairs....

I love sports, but this fucking enterntainment on TV makes me sick.
Armstrong issue was incredible brutal, what a fucking circus.
I am kinda surprised Mike Tyson wasn't anywhere on this list.
he might have been if it wasn't so clear that everyone took advantage of him and his money. now people fill sorry for him.
e gutierrez
And his cartoon is awesome.
Mike Tyson was the first person I thought of for this list.
Bruce LeeRoy Mike Tyson might have been on this list if he hadn’t made that comeback after he got out of prison.
I didn't even know OJ Simpson was an athlete, so I guess that's a very well deserved number one.
Well, thanks for the spoiler! Damn!!
What did you think he was?
Oh wait, we all know what he is!
From figure skating to breaking opponents' legs to boxing to porno? Well shit, this gal deserves a movie.
She got It 😃
Pete Rose one is stupid. He bet during his coaching career and it didn't improve his stats. Should be in the HOF
you cant bet on the game you play or coach. people cant seem to wrap their heads around that. it puts the integrity of the game into question. think of it this way.

Nwolve L yup
I think Sandusky should have made the list, that shit was heinous
You should do a top 10 list of dumb, repetitive comments that people make on all of your videos.
1. "Why are your videos so focused on America?" (Because they're Canadian)
2. "Why no HD?" (Lack of HD source video)
3. "Y U no include dis or dat?" (probably because it wasn't suggested on their site)
4. "What's the song name?" (Darude-Sandstorm)
I'm sure you can come up with 6 more.
5. "This is the worst list of xxxxx ever made"
6. "Predicting what number 1 is going to be"
7. Racial slurs, personal attacks, sexism, homophobia and death threats that come up on the comments on every single video on youtube ever in the history of the man
8. Trolls that just wants comments even if it's completely stupid
9. "Watchmojo sucks."
You know there are sports outside of America, such as the biggest sport in the world, Football. You should've included Zidane's headbutt
That happened during his very last game didn't it?

conor obrien they have done that already
Why was Sandusky not in at least top 6?
Well, this should be called "falls from grace in American sports", otherwise, you shouldn't skip Diego Maradona's positive dopping in USA 94 World Cup...
This is why people shouldn't look at athletes at "heroes", which is something that never made sense to me.
Being a wrestling fan, the Chris Benoit story gets me every time.......
Wrestling is fake. So there's no such thing as a fall from grace in wrestling.
@@danroberts9050 he murdered his wife and son you uncultured piece of burnt toast
In Nim's I hope I don't get worse by the way because I'm not sure if it's fake or real
I'm shocked that you left out Mike Tyson.
Don't forget the hangover movies he's still making appearances heisenberg ;)
I agree Mike Tyson should have at least been an honorable mention.
Gimme a break, let Pete Rose in already, so he gambled on a few games, its not like he did drugs, beat up animals, or cheated on his wife or raped a chick. He deserves to be in the HOF, one of the best players of all time
seems kinda dumb to put a gambler on a list where Chris Benoit killed his wife and daughter and then kill himself...
He gambled for on his own team. There was no game fixing at all, Pete would go out there and do his best to win.
Umm... You forgot MIke Tyson
This didn’t age well in Tiger Woods case 🏆
Where is Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber
they don't play sports
They don't play sports.
They don't play sports.
They don't play sports.
Obvious troll is obvious
You should put "american" Fall From Grace in the title. I sit here waiting for Maradona or something in the UK. They have plenty shit up there.
The thing with Pete Rose is he never gambled against himself, only against opponents and different games. He should be in the hall of fame.
Okay no need to be cynical about Michael Vick, not a fan of him but he served his time in prison and put that life behind him..
*****
What the fuck do those people have to do on this matter??
***** I think I get you and agree
Liah Lili stfu you dont know shit
Yeah everyone hates him but their is a certain quarterback who is playing that is a rapist and all he got was a small suspension
Liah Lili the dogs were his property, he could do whatever he wants with them.
Still, that doesn't erase what he did, and a lot of people will remember him for what he did outside of the NFL
People don't change
RilakkumaII unless they want to.
Could have been so much more but hey, dog fighting is a lucrative business.
I dont get the Vick inclusion on this list because he was a dirt bag as a Falcon, he was never in anyone graces.
Chris Benoit was my hero. My uncle got me into wrestling when I was younger, and Benoit died 8 days after he did. That messed me up as a kid.
Michael vick did so much to get back in good grace with the league and public. not saying that what he did was right, but he served his time. You guys were very unfair to him
+Balloon Sage if only they cared about humans as much as they do animals. Big Ben was out here Bill Cosby'ing women but he didnt face shit.
that piece of shit shot, drown, and electrocuted innocent dogs....fuck outta here with your vick sympathy
Matt Philbrook - thank you for saying it. It seems some people don't care what those poor animals went through.
Sonia Bharwa yup
Matt Philbrook yup
HOW THE HELL DO YOU MISS BARRY BONDS????
You can make a whole list out of star baseball players who juiced. Arod, Bonds, Sosa Etc.
Wait, I don't mean to sound like an imbecile, but what's wrong with betting on your own team winning? It serves as motivation, surely?
Cerith Burrows A player can't influence a win anyway.
Seth Holland I can understand betting AGAINST your team, but I can't understand why it's illegal to bet FOR your team?
I'm sure they say that in court too.
_"The love of money is the root of all evil."_
chris benoit easily could have been number 1 even though wwe isn't a sport its entertainment just bringing up his benoit's name divides its fans
Pro "Wrestling is not a sport.
But people still get hurt doing it.
It still doesn't make it a sport.
They sweet they bleed and they cry if they win a match just like football soccer hockey baseball and others
They act, granted they still do some sort of hard work, but they're still acting. It's staged and set up.
***** yes, brock lesnar is not an athlete at all
How could they miss MIKE TYSON on this list? Tonya Harding was a true bitch, but she shouldn't make this list over Tyson. He was convicted of rape and served years in prison, just months after losing his first ever fight, along with all the heavyweight titles. Tyson was at least a top 5 "fall from grace," but here they didn't even give him a mention. Major miss.
Mike Tyson fall from grace? This is a guy who said "I'll fuck you til you love me faggot, I'll eat your children" during a pre-fight weigh in. Is that considered grace to you?
+Tee OB that would be part of the FALL, not the grace. oh, bte, fuck, you are dense.
+dfarmer1584 bte? Not familiar with that term. You're obviously not aware of Tyson's out of ring history before that incident.
chris benoit only an honorable mention, that's top 3 at least
Ric Flair still blading at 59 to pay his divorce is also sad
Hulk hogan almost suicide is pretty bad
+brendon lay wwe isn't a sport
So than why is he in this video
brendon lay idk
Diego Maradona ?????
Lions never cheat on their mates, but a tiger wood.
Made my night :D
Marco van Basten? Ronaldo? Ronaldinho? Even people below have mentioned Maradona, I'm surprised that you didn't include some of the best players from the most popular sport on Earth.
They clearly never heard of Diego Maradona
But he is still well liked
He recovered
Ray rice knocked out his fiance for god sake!! Adrien peterson abused his. Child and you only mention michael vick for dog fighting!! Sure it was a bad thing but he served his time and has put that behind him but ray rice did something that was way worse and on video!!!!
Do not cheat and do not take drugs in sports.....you think that would be obvious.
The whole tiger woods thing was blown out of proportion.
Like Clinton?
HiddenTalent77 yep, what does their private life/relationships have to do with their work or us?
Matty T Agreed...it's the culture of America
James Howard It's sad.
Tiger Woods? Golf isn't a sport.
Golf is a sport to some, like swimming.
Roland Johnson Sport is 'an activity involving physical exertion'. Swimming yes, golf no.
I've tried playing golf; it's a lot harder than it looks, especially when mastering the swinging of the putt.
John Cleveland I don't know where did you get that, but that's a completly unaccurate definition of sport, even poker is a sport dude...
Cristian Jaimez Um, merriam-webster Dictionary? Poker shouldn't be considered a sport either.
I'm shocked that there was no mention of Rae Carruth of the Carolina Panthers for having his pregnant girlfriend killed...Or even Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder for his drunken racial remarks that utterly destroyed his sports commentating career...
Tiger never really recovered. He was on pace to be the greatest golfer of all time and hasn't won a major since.
Alex Seradj this year he did!
Ray Rice and Adrian Petersen will probably be on a followup of this list.
since all of them weren't American what about Ben cousins one of the biggest downfall in Australian sports winning a brown low (Aussie rules MVP) and a premiership ( Championship) the guy pretty much threw away his AFL career away taking drugs and i dont remember one day when he wasn't in the news at the time ( Im a Richmond tigers supporter not eagles)
Oh how the mighty have fallen...
At #7 your 2019 masters champ
I think john Terry could have been a honourable mention. Cheated on his wife with his best friend and team mates girlfriend racial abuse and loosing the UCL final in 2008 for chelsea. I like john but I could see why he could make this list.
Mike Tyson? Ray Rice?
Tiger Woods cheated. Someone please explain to me how what he does in his personal life has anything to do with his golfing carrier? This is what confuses me about stuff like this, personal life stuff should be just that.
Holy shit! You guys actually mentioned Chris Benoit!
Cte fucked him up
Ok guys, WWE isn't a sport.. lmfaoo
Obviously it's considered one, or Benoit wouldn't have made the list.
Tiger Woods thing makes me always laugh. Only in America you have to apologize for the whole damn nation :D
Too much America for me... At least IF you decided to take so much american athletes, you could have at least left out baseball and tie thing you call "football" and kept it olympic sport only.
Vick is that low, huh? Guess throwing a ball means so much to people that even killing animals is forgivable. Sickening.
Glad Oscar Pistorious is on this list. I hope he rots in jail.
In american sports or..?
Not a single one from the worlds biggest sport, football. Not a single European on the list. What the hell, there's so many scandals..
I guess, should be in the title tho. And Tanya on 8? No way
Other countries were included, Canada and South Africa both had people on the list.
if none of you have noticed, none of these are hockey players. why? because [most] hockey players do the right thing
Last time I went to a hockey game a guy pinned another guy to the wall and started screaming at him as loud so possible. This happened 2 times with 4 different people
No, its because not a lot of people watch hockey.
True
OJ Simpson wasn't even a football player anymore when his downfall started, which to me makes him not eligible for this list.
Lance Armstrong is the one that really drove me nuts.
I had zero interest in biking.
In 2003 I went to Germany with friends and every night we went out "Lance Armstrong is a cheater! George Bush is a tyrant!"
Of course I couldn't defend Bush but at that time Lance was a superstar that beat cancer! He was an American hero!
So we spent half our time defending his cheating arse.
Man did they hate him over there lol. I've rarely seen a group of people hate someone as much as the Germans hated Lance Armstrong.
Hell in 2003 they already knew he was a cheater.
steroids cure cancer? hmmmm he maybe a hero yet.
Nobody cares about baseball, American "Football", figure skating, or Golf...
Armstrong should have been higher than Rose.
How the hell was Lance Armstrong not number 1?!?!?!
Because OJ was televised the entire way, even though most people say he did kill them, but he still denies
yeah but like the height from which Armstrong fell from made his fall way bigger then OJ
Deco5757 Being confronted by Oprah Winfrey for taking performance-enhancing drugs is child's play compared to being put on trial for murder.
What about every athlete a kardashian dated. Thats the biggest fall from grace out of all
bannokelly18 yes
Wat about the whole black sox scandal in the 1920s and the guy dubbed the best player ever who is banned from the hall of fame? I don't remember his name
shoeless Joe?
Yes. Thank u
That's a lot of Americans
It's not like Pete Rose played bad on purpose and bet on the other teams. It makes no sense to ban a guy who bets on his own team winning when most steroid users in baseball get off scott free.. in comparison.
