Recent voting trends and emerging scandals are making the Democrats more optimistic about winning North Carolina in what would be a major coup in the electoral college. So in this video, we explain why this is happening and whether NC could go blue.

This is similiar to what happened in Virginia. VA was a republican state until 2008, when the demographics changes swung the state blue. Ever since, it's been a mostly Democratic state even with the GOP being strong in the rural areas and Virginia Beach. The same thing's happening in North Carolina and has been for the last 25-30 years, but has gained momentum in the last 3-6 years. As pointed out in the video, Charlotte and Raileigh are fast growing urban centers. The fact that Mark Robinson's a very objectionable candidate morally and politically along with the changes in demographics will make the state swing blue due to the immigrant communities in the large metro areas.

I'm European, following the US election because of it's worldwide impact on geopolitics and economy.
I just finished reading an article in my local newspaper, stating that the margins in the polls for both Clinton and Biden 6 weeks before their respective elections, were larger.
Because of the importance of the electoral college, and taking into account that historically the polls underestimated the Trump vote, the article concludes that Trump is most likely to become the next potus.
And no, that doesn't make me happy at all. But things are what they are.
How is it that you guys ended up with a system where the minority of the voters can decide who takes power? That seems like the absolute opposite of democracy to me.

I seem to be in a liberal minority who think the polling isn't looking good for Harris. Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona look more likely to go for Trump, Florida even more likely to go for Trump, Ohio (remember when that was a swing state? what changed?) is all but certainly for Trump, and Pennsylvania is far too close for comfort when that is essential for Harris to win if she loses those others. Even Nevada is in play - why? If Harris loses all of those states then I struggle to see a path to victory for her. Texas is talked up as moving towards the Democrats, but that's been said for a decade and it never really moves.
Through all of this, remember that the polling consistently underestimates Trump's support in presidential elections. Add 2 or 3 percent to his polling in all of the swing states and he's won by a landslide. Clinton (who still lost) and Biden (who lost the on the day vote) were much further ahead as I recall.
I think the media are talking Harris up to create momentum, and I wish she had it, but I don't see it and i think we are deceiving ourselves if we see the polls favouring Harris.

They could win the governor's seat; and Trump could still win the state. I'm from Maryland, we are a hardcore blue state, but our last governor Larry Hogan was a Republican, and along with him majority voted for Clinton in 2016. So, it could be split, we'll see on election day. Also, with the voting rule changes in Virginia and Georgia that favor Republicans, if they win North Carolina and win those two states, along with either Nevada or Arizona, then Trump will win.

  • @aarohalme1020
