- After year over year reliable short comings of BC Ferries, a new ferry service started in August of 2023 between Downtown Vancouver and Nanaimo. This was targeted at the missing gaps that BC Ferries couldn't fill. That being said is it just as good? Worse? or even better than BC Ferries?? Watch this video to see for yourself!

Being able to Skytrain downtown and catch the Hullo was the key for me, from Coquitlam to Nanaimo in 2 1/2 hours was crazy good this past weekend. Thanks Hullo!
33 knots is a lot most ships go about 20 knots but the hulo vessels don’t carry cars. But if your home is in Nanaimo and you work in Vancouver then I guess this is a good alternative.
It's almost 100 round trip. 2000 a month if u do everyday. Gotta be stupid to do that. And 2.5 hours travel time you lose out of ur day just to save a little on housing lol
@@Mary6661 $100 costs more than being a foot passenger on bc ferries. For passenger on bc ferries is like 10 to 20 dollars. Also this is @77flips second account
They run this late enough after Canucks home games
Thanks for the video. So far yours has been the most in formative I’ve seen. I thought you were going to say the first upgrade was to keep the windows clean for us photo geeks. 😂. If you had mobility issues would you still recommend them over BC Ferries.
Thank you very much 🙏
And most definitely! Is easier & shorter to board + navigating a smaller vessel is a lot easier for passengers with mobility restrictions over BC ferries. Although cleaning the sea salt off the windows would be a routine pain in the ass haha
Nanaimo has the best location on the Island central to everything beautiful harbour tons of beautiful parks and views. The most underrated city in BC but that has started to change now.
downtown Nanaimo is scary AF. The surrounding burbs beaches and mountains are great. I can't quite see Nanaimo/Comox/Chemainus 150k population supporting this ferry. Need a way to serve Victoria region to downtown Vancouver with its 400k population.
@@planesandbikes7353 Downtown Nanaimo is scary. It doesn't even come close to downtown Victoria. Pandora Quadra now's that's scary.
@@planesandbikes7353 Victoria is also way too out of the way for travel distance and time.
@@planesandbikes7353 Central Island has way more people than 150k. The Population of Nanaimo alone is close to 120k.
Hullo has just 4 more years in their business model to see if they can compete or last.
We will see what comes first, success or running out of capital.
How about running BC Ferries 🙏
Strike 1: ( automatic out ) emailed ticket. I'm only online when sitting at my computer at home so this means no using Hullo service.
Printer?
@@nonrevmax nope, don't have one.
You can print it at their office at both terminals. Just need your reservation code.
And the reason for the background noise is ?
