it is so great pleasure finding really talented and hard working Greek great musicians. file mou me sygkinhses pragmatika. great - great greek musician.
@CornDoctor Paganini basically built his career off the ability to wow audiences with his technical proficiency. It would come off as quite surprising to me if this piece were intended to showcase musicality and phrasing.
@Jmetal83 Not quite sloppy, it's how classical guitar soundss when it's played fast. Admittedly it does lose clarity at some points, I think that's more of a flaw with the camera's microphone.
This is unbelieieieievable and i don't talk only about the way he plays which is amaaaaaazing but the way comments are... I mean that no greek has written any thing..... But because i am greek ΚΑΤΑΠΛΗΚΤΙΚΟ πραγματικά έχω μείνει με ανοιχτό το στόμα:οοοοοοο
Mravo Dimitri!!!! Ypothetw einai polla xronia prin... Poly katharo paiksimo kai oi tonismoi htan katanohtoi!!!! De vrika kamia ektelesi me kithara pou na mou aresei toso...
excellent , this guitarist is great !!! ...I've read some other comments where the appearance of musician's is important to some people...remember that if you close your eyes you can still hear the music
@watisupdood Not that you'll understand but let me clarify for those who can, this is not music; this is a selection of notes played in a certain order, with absolutely no emotion or passion fused with them in order to create the divine sound that is music. I hope you learned something :)
I get something different tekhnical if Dimitri play this Caprice No 5 . I meant different tekhnic basic with me. BUT DIMITRI very Great use 3 finger very fast.BRAVOO.... Dimitri I like him. I get much inspirations
I bet this guy knows all the chords. Just joking, amazing. Even without a cutaway. Makes the rest of us 'guitar players' look decidedly below average.awesome.
dedicado para Alejandro de la Vega...... qué dijo en un episodio a su hijo Diego...SI PORQUE ES UN TRABAJO MUY EXTENUANTE TOCAR LA GUITARRA ... de modo sarcástico obviamente que viejo choto
@boxtrap21 having talent doesn't really equate to becoming famous. this guy is gifted but plays music reserved for a society of people who appreciate it. most of the general public don't have appreciation for classical music, but i guess he's famous in the classical society.
@tico7464 I do realize that Paganini wrote this. I'm just saying that it generally takes someone very dedicated to reach this level of ability. And while a person spends those 12 hours a day practicing music, it doesn't leave much time to develope anything else in life. It becomes borderline savantism.
Shit hot, im extremely jealous of your dedication. I'm more of an electric player myself, but i aspire to reach this kind of level one day (pfft no chance) P.S. How difficult is this piece to play on guitar? it looks insane
Not at all. If you don't recognise the magnitude of this piece then I assume you've never studied theory. This piece presents numerous quite beautiful digital patterns which would've inspired countless subsequent compositions and a fair few improvised jazz lines. You can practice this not only for speed by playing through the entire song, but also ideas by going over individual digital patterns, which are great for improvisation practice.
naah.....the camera sound doesn't help that much but i think this piece can only be nailed on the electric and Vai did it perfectly. but other than that this guy is amazing.
I tried to hear the music in it.. but I couldn't find it. Can someone explain me plz why people like this piece.. love to hear someone's opinion about it
Sounds like someone put a vice grip on his balls and was like.. "You cant have it taken off until you played paganini's 5th caprice all the way through"...right before this video started
@BoeingB17FF lol do you realise how extremely stupid that comment is? Ok, I'll point out a few things wrong with what you said: 1) It's a caprice, not an etude. 2) Have you heard any other etudes before? They can be extremely musical, look towards Chopin's in particular just off the top of my head. 3) I know Paganini is considered "light music" but watch some of Pavel Steidl's 19th century guitar playing, is probably some of the most musical playing you'll ever hear.
my right ear enjoyed this.
my left ear enjoyed this.
it is so great pleasure finding really talented and hard working Greek great musicians. file mou me sygkinhses pragmatika. great - great greek musician.
@WarmothGuitarist dude, the piece is written at a fast tempo in 16th notes, its not his fault pagannini wrote it this way
Simply the best guitarist ever !!! Congratulations !!!
With love from Greece,Patras
@CornDoctor Paganini basically built his career off the ability to wow audiences with his technical proficiency. It would come off as quite surprising to me if this piece were intended to showcase musicality and phrasing.
the sound quality could be better but I think this is the best version of this tune I have heard on youtube. incredibly well played
@Jmetal83 Not quite sloppy, it's how classical guitar soundss when it's played fast. Admittedly it does lose clarity at some points, I think that's more of a flaw with the camera's microphone.
Maravilloso, un deleite para los que amamos la guitarra y la musica en general....

If Paganini was alive , it would be interesting to hear HIS opinion...Personally, I think that the Greek Dimitris is a FORMIDABLE virtuoso.Bravo!
I bet this guy knows all the chords. Just joking, amazing. Even without a cutaway. Makes the rest of us 'guitar players' look decidedly below average.awesome.

μπραβο κυριεεε!! :DD
@hariskalimanis via would say... hmm hes fast!
so you can play the open A string, awesome!
fuck yes.
Not really , it is mostly built upon 3 notes per string , so it's harder to finger pick it.
Wow. His fret hand looks like an angry spider trying to avoid getting stomped. Very cool.
His hands are flying !
How old is this record?
@drouleau Yeah that´s exactly how it sounds xD
'He badly lacks dynamics'
I think I'll put that comment up on my hypothetical fridge.
my eye balls just popped out
