My 4 year old walked into the room when I first logged in at Orison and walked outside. He was absolutely amazed by the tall buildings, space ships, water, and trees everywhere. He sat in my lap in awe while I walked my character around the station. He couldnt get enough of it. Now all he does is ask me to play the game. He sits in my lap in total amazement. I just want to say thanks for that moment.

@@jibronigibironi8959 It's getting better patches by patches. Obviously, the big new shiny thing which are the atmospheric volumetric clouds are still V1, so framerate tanks a lot in Orison.

Amazing Commercial and shockingly close to in-game graphics once the clouds are improved so that the grain is eliminated.
Now we only need good server-performance (and with it good AI) and this commercial is almost in-game. Just amazing
I tried clouds on the highest setting and I feel like it looked pretty similar to this. It also tanked my fps considerably so I went back to sand clouds.
Don't forget boys and girls Vulkan will come later, and some modifications are made to it; we're gonna win at least some FPS with that, will see next year!

They've upgraded from doing ship commercials to destination commercials, and I'm here for it. This is a commercial I could absolutely see in the verse as an advertisement to try and get people to visit Crusader.
props to the cinematics team and everyone else who helped make this and all other cinematics. i have always been really impressed by these in-engine cinematics, the closest thing to gameplay videos and, in my opinion, the best and most authentic way to advertise the game and it's features, and the in-world vibe they give off is immersive af! i really hope we get another one once whale watching is implemented, where can i buy a ticket?
And the best part?!? You can actually log in and walk around that VERY place. It really does look like that!

If what you two were saying were anywhere remotely true then the marketing team would just show off ACTUAL in-game footage! But anyone who plays SC knows this isn't what the player's experience is like or even remotely close to right now or may ever be. You two really should put down your Kool-Aid tumblers.
@@Bronwyn031 riiiiight, i play the game and i have better frame times with 3.14, so i have a much smoother experience with the game even at lower than normal frames rates. the only thing not in-game atm, though shown in this video, are the AI behaviors, but we know they are being worked on right now and practically everything else is in the game right now. so speak for yourself not everyone else.
so you might need to go and sit down somewhere and take out the haterade iv you have pumping directly into your veins. and it's very silly of you to want the devs to show in-game footage of AI behaviors not yet in-game or when they are trying to showcase what the new area will be like once the AI behaviors are online. idk, it's almost like they are still developing the game or something, strange, huh? LMFAO!
@@Bronwyn031 That IS direct from the engine. And it REALLY does look like that. Watch some TH-cam vids. The only thing not as advanced as the above video is the NPC's actions. But they will be like that as the new AI systems come in. But all those locations you can go to right now and walk around on or fly though etc. Everything but the flashback is there now.

Grim Hex is in a ring. Though that's technically around a moon, not a planet.

I think they mean more like the Kuat Drive Yards space factory and entirely encircles a planet in Star Wars.
As for capability, in lore they are half way through making an entire SynthWorld, and in the SQ42 vertical slice they have so much tech built around one world that it constantly rains down debris in the atmosphere, so it may be hard but seems well within their means.
There's also ArcCorp the ecumenopolis, and the UEE built a massive travelling space archive/library called the Ark.

Amazing. I would love to see more world-building and background like this. In Mass Effect I would spend hours just learning in the codec, because of its combination of imagery, narration and story that helped me dig deeper into the lore ... most importantly, entries were added at vital points during my discoveries throughout the universe that matched my gameplay.
This is where Bungie has really missed in their game design, there is a ton of worldbuilding but it's all hidden from the user so they aren't distracted from firing their great feeling guns, or hidden as grimoire that doesn't reveal itself to the user, encouraging them to interact at important moments in the gameplay.
If I could pull up data / videos / entries like this about the planet i was on from my Mobi, about where I just arrived, I would be thrilled. Plus its good efficiency to use the same resources to advertise the game, as you are using to create in-game assets.
Kudos CIG for a stellar job on Crusader. It surpassed all my expectations.

Need to download more frames per second
I was positively impressed actually. Never fell below 35 fps EXCEPT when I qt-sling-shot around Crusader, my game went from slide show to still frame for several seconds - never seen that before. Prolly because of to the clouds?
Ah, so THIS is where the marketing budget went. I was wondering why the Taurus commercial was so short after the incredible Hercules commercial we got a few months ago.

I don't know man, I backed this game in 2012 or so. Still in development, getting bigger and bigger. I'm very much looking forward to it but I'll be honest, it lost me at some point. I want them to make a great game and take their time but this is a bit much. I was looking forward to the single player Squadron 42 the most but I fear I'll be 50 when this game finally hits the public in its full glory...!

@@AlexisK yes. it will still run better on op hardware of course, but apart from when we're in open space it's hard to keep that framerate stable. it really is purely a network thing though, they'll fix it eventually

some of these fictional spacecraft (such as the Crusader HERCULES Starlifter & Crusader MERCURY STAR Runner) can actually be a practical viable alternative for a real life inter-stellar Mars transport craft using current technological advancements in space travel . . . a spacecraft that can actually fly inside the atmosphere of other planets starting off with Mars . . . for e.g. the Crusader HERCULES Starlifter . . . furthermore imagine an ISS in low Mars orbit based on the Crusader ORISON in-atmosphere infrastructure modular space station it'd be something . . .
i can only imagine what the sewage is like lol

I backed the game almost a decade ago. When I can get 60 fps In game I’ll re download it.
that kind of a silly Metric to use as Most games don't run at 60 FPS , NEW World doesn't run at 60 FPS for most people with a 3080, neither did Cyberpunk.."A Playable Frame Rate would be better" and that like 40+ for most people.
@@AlbertoMartinez765 silly by your definition or not, that my definition of a playable game. If my 3090 can only get 20fps in a game it’s badly optimized and not worth my time. I love the concept of star citizen. But I hate their business model. They already got enough money from me and there is no end in sight.
I want what I paid for and backed. The feature creep on this game is dumb. At this rate I’m gonna die of old age before we have more than one solar system.
And cyberpunk ran way better than star citizen for me. Less glitches, and a decent playable frame rate.

It's easy to keep the universe safe. All you need to do is restrict everyone to the smallest part of it. Even if it doesn't work well, you can't say it isn't oh-so pretty. Makes me think of J.J. Abrams movies.
