I would trust Daily Wire to make the Lord of the Rings series the right way.
To clarify: I don't actually want a remake. But Jeff Bezos paid a billion dollars to make trash. Daily Wire would hire people who care about the integrity of the project.

One small mountain town trying to survive the first year in the aftermath of an EMP attack on the US. Its a phenomenal book and has the potential to be a series that can draw a the widest of audiences. Think something like the show 'jericho' , but in the eastern NC mountains haha.

Caution about your belief of Christian movies, the chosen, made it number one at the theaters 3 weeks in a row, and still is the best movie/series on the telly, streaming, or box office sales. I have all of the season one and two, I'm waiting impatiently on season 3. I'm not alone, over 365 million viewers, and it is still growing! If you were smart you'd make Walsh's best-seller "Johnny the Walrus" into a movie, in the Disney vein of course, but with enough edge to get your point across.
It already has name recognition, it would be cheap to make, and the controversy would be spectacular - necessary to gin up interest. Especially when you first roll out the back story in "The Making of Johnny the Walrus" perhaps with an altered title later- of course all fictionalized as well.
This latter movie (and you might not even have to make the former) is the story of the 10 year old child actor who auditioned and snagged the role of "Johnny" . The back story of this child actor is done in cinema verite, showing a boy who actually "in real life" went through the trauma of having his misguided mother (played by a hardly recognizable Gina Carano - fake nose and wig as well as wearing glasses), for her own attention and ego's sake, determined that this talented child actor, her own son, was a girl - the father was just some unknown sperm donor, as Gina plays the typical, narcissistic, messed-up, ultra liberal mother.
When the Daily Wire (playing themselves in this movie) found out about the story of this child actor and what he had gone through, escaping the fate of so many unfortunate children forced into this decision and its implication by a parent or parents, they immediately wanted him for the role - in the movie, Matt Walsh actually adopts the boy from the orphanage where he wound up after making the DARING ESCAPE from his mother, the funny part of the movie being how this 10 year old figures out how to evade "mommy dearest" - the whole affair of course later being mediatized, the court room battles, and then his mother finally and rightfully having the child taken away are all, in an non-chronological way, only related through the PTS syndrome-type memories of the boy.
Actually, in somewhat of a flashback, that is where the movie begins - the child telling his story to a psychologist in the orphanage hours before he is to meet his "new daddy". Of course, the audience watching the movie have no idea who is coming to adopt him.

I think Matt Walsh should make a Johnny the Walrus sequel where Johnny's woke mom, tries to make the family carbon neutral and they don't drive a car, don't heat/cool their house, and go vegan even though they really like meat.....

    • @turquoise770
      @turquoise770 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@williamkeepers1935 The mom of Johnny (played by Gina with a Nicole Kidman-style fake nose, ridiculous blue hair wig, piercings, tattoos, etc..) in my story is actually even more radical than that!
But it is quite funny what happens to her - ( in my story that is).
After her son is rightly removed from her from the courts, and Matt adopts Johnny, she winds up, after being let out of a minimum security womens' prison, in a cult in South America where the natives and cult members make her in a "goddess" (that is where the first movie ends in a sort of "cliffhanger").
Her being made into this "goddess" in this cult is all crazily mixed in with Marxist socialism, radical liberation theology, santeria and voodoo - after months, the movement actually attracts millions of followers, mainly in Brazil. This sets up the sequel to the next movie "The return of the mother of Johnny the Walrus" where Gina (Johnny's mother) now buff and decked out in all of her weird goddess cult gear now has real power behind her and plans to head back to the States to get her son back, now living happily with the Walsh family. ALL the media in the States are ALL too ready to take her side, since Walsh had become the number one enemy in the whole transgenderists debates, specifically the one with which this story is concerned - Johnny and his mother must be REUNITED! - the media foments fake demonstrations playing "Mother and Child Reunion" by Paul Simon, carry picket signs, false flags are staged, hoaxes, etc.... all talk shows argue how this woman by virtue of having gained such a massive following in a movement more evil and toxic, more leftist and radical than BLM DESERVES RECONSIDERATION IN THE COURTS. Johnny must go back to his mother! Matt however has one secret weapon to defeat them all!

A natural step, if you want to compete with Netflix or HBO, is to licence content and move toward becoming a "curated" streaming platform. That would attract even more subscribers, as now they can actually drop rival platforms for content that they KNOW is valuable (for them), because otherwise it would not be on the DW platform. Think Criterion Channel, but with a different profile. There is 100 years of cinema to choose from. And you can also have discussion shows around this content (á la TNT / TCM).

I just watched 'Shut In'. My view is that it is dark, violent, somewhat gory and too much like Hollywood thriller/horror movies - admittedly without the virtue signaling and artificially added social issues. It seems that the two other available movies are also violent. I know there is a market for this but we are disappointed that Daily Wire is focusing on these kinds of movies first. I know that you mentioned the redemption in this movie, but the 'redemption' is simplistic and not real life. The trauma and emotional impact of the horror that the mother and children endured would not just magically disappear in a month because the 'bad guys' were dead, she had her Nana's money and she suddenly has a successful business. We just so hope that you start making movies that show strong, positive relationships between men and women, within intact families, where they have even serious problems, but they are not killing each other. A PRIMARY reason that our country is falling apart is because our families are falling apart. There needs to be entertainment that regularily supports the family, not more that highlights the disfunction and violence in families. That is already EVERYWHERE and definately not what we are paying to support.

The whole characterization and use of the phrase "conservative entertainment" implies that it is making entertainment on the basis of a set of specific "values" namely "conservative" values. In this current social ecosphere that means christian values. Any entity that makes anything has every right to have whatever values or lack of values they want. But, be wary of an "entertainment" made by someone who calls themselves "god king" and who bemoans "left-wing virtue signaling" while simultaneously implying to his audiences that he will be the true and pure arbiter of conservative values. Conservative virtue signaling panders just as much as "leftist" virtue signaling. This is hypocrisy.

In The Hyperions did Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum live in the end? I got the feeling he died from that wound, but there the doctor at the end did not look worried, so I am guessing he did not die.

Hey Jeremy, Skybound Entertainment owns the rights to the Amber series by Roger Zelazny. Just saying, its big, its broad scope and it can be huge if you keep it out of the hands of the Woke. Maybe see if any of the Known Universe Series by Larry Niven is available, or maybe any of the Steven Brust books?

You say you don't want to make movies that your audience only wants to support but for me and everyone i know thats all youve made. Ive told every conservative family member and friend about your last 2 movies and no one was interested in gritty thrillers, and i dont blame them, neither am I. Especially exclusively female lead ones, i understand your working with the scripts you can get but if were fighting to take back the culture, i think that starts with reclaiming the strong male protangonist who has been so utterly neutered by hollywood
