As an Austrian you put a big smile on my face when you predicted Austria going to the Semis, but obviously there's no denying the fact that we were drawn into a less than favorable group. The games against Netherlands and France are gonna be real tough, but I still believe that we've got what it takes to mark ourselves into this Euro competition. I've already witnessed some of the best games of Austria during Friendlies and the Qualifiers so even if we don't make it out of the group, I'll still be proud of my country and look forward to the world cup because my gut's telling me that there will be some wonderful moments ahead for Austrians. Of course, I believe in our National Team and I think they will give it their all during this magical summer and I'm more then hyped for this wonderful tournament in one of my favorite nations. Many people say that group D‘s most important game is Netherlands - Austria, but I think Austria France is way more interesting. France is known for losing against smaller teams and Austria already beat them in the past

Auch jene die nicht für einen solchen Verein gespielt haben funktionieren in diesem System einbahnfrei, wie Danso und Gregoritsch. Das Team spielt super in allen Bereichen, selbst ohne Alaba, Arnautović und Sabitzer. Diese Top-Spieler sind zwar eine wunderbare Bereicherung und sind unsere besten Spieler, aber wir haben oft genug bewiesen das wir auch super ohne diese Stars gegen teilweise Top-Mannschaften gut performen. You'll love it. My first international matches were all at euro 96, in England, only I didn't get to see one england game. But saw Croatia, germany, Czech Republic, Italy, some great matches. From that tourney alone the fans I was most impressed by were Croatia. They really made an 'atmosphere'. I just watched the games at Old Trafford being how I'm only a few miles away, and I was right behind the goal when zola missed a crucial penalty. I was one of the first ppl who saw the look in his eyes. Can't beat international football, and that was as a neutral. Cause hold a tourney in England and every game will be sold out even if its like Slovenia vs Malta. We'll go just for a day out.

Serbia and Poland are brothers of the international stage competitions. Everybody looks at their players and think they've got some ballers, then you actually watch them play and they've got no cohesion whatsoever and exit at the group stage.

I 100% would’ve doubted Germany if it weren’t for the most recent international break, I know it was friendlies but they played some brilliant attacking football and dominated France, seriously looks like they might’ve turned a corner 🤷🏽♂️

I think Austria goes in to this Tournament as MASSIVE underdogs ,as you said they’re in a great form,they beat the shit out of my country (Sweden) and completely dominated their squad is SO interesting and strong right now!
And in the very next match you lost 3:0 to 10 men Azerbaijan. Not to be mean, but at this moment in time winning against Sweden doesn't really mean much. Don't forget Turkey at the last Euro, they were supposed to be the dark horses after cruising through qualifiers, but after all was said and done, it was last place in their group, three loses and eight goal conceded
I mean nobody had expected that Austria will take the first place in their group, that Georgia will qualify and Belgium will perform so poorly. The only prediction that really missed the mark was Denmark and Romania on the last place in their groups. But to be fair, Denmark wasn't all that convincing and Group E could've went either way. If Ukrainian defense hadn't collapsed in the second half against Romania - they could've qualified and Romania would end up on the 3/4 place.
i think Belgium is being underestimated at this moment. Yes the big famous players are retired from the national team and the ones that still play are over their top but there are many top level talents that are maybe a bit too young and inexperienced at this point. So at one side you have ambitious young talents and next to them you have Lukaku, De Bruyne, Vertonghen, ... i think this could be the perfect mix of good experienced older players and young blood. If players like De Bruyne guide these young ones it could end up to be the perfect formula. On top of this is the fact that now there is no pressure at all. previous big events it was always "the perfect chance for the golden generation". now they can go there and say we are underdogs we will see what it brings. personally i give them more chance to win this EC and even next WC potentially than ever before. A lot will depend on their current form ofcourse. If De Bruyne suffers from injuries it's game over against the Netherlands. But normally i would say 75/25 to win against them.
I think you're underestimating Belgium a bit. They completed their qualifying campaign unbeaten and played almost the entire campaign without kdb and Courtois. Tedesco has also been doing well in trying to integrate the upcoming generation. The midfield and attack are still really good, it's just the defense that's a problem but guys like Debast en De winter seem really promising. Casteels and Sels seem to be also doing fine in goal now that Courtois has declared he won't play in euro's.
no.... all you have is a semi-world class front 3 and the rest of your team is no better than countries like switzerland. Even the legendary debruyne has started showing his age this season. Even some non competitive teams have a better defense than belgium

Fair prediction, I would say as an England fan that we would struggle playing against Italy, Croatia or France so wouldn’t take us to beat Italy and France in a row. My final would be Germany vs France, with France winning, although that’s a pretty standard prediction, the tournament will play out different in reality. There will be a “dark horse” semi finalist team similar to wales before, Denmark, etc. That dark horse in your case is Austria, so it makes sense

Austria has a great team! But i do think you're underestimating Netherlands a bit. They haven't gotten the chance to put up their most optimal performance yet, due to a LOT of injuries. They had 13(!) injuries in their first match against France and 12(!) in the second match against France. Right now, due to the squad upgrade from 23 to 26, I think they have one of the best squads of this Euro. Look at their young team: Maatsen, Van de Ven, Frimpong, New keeper Flekken, Xavi Simmons, Summerville, Koopmeiners, Reijnders, Gravenberch, Gakpo and the list goes on. If they can play as a team at the Euro's I think they will really put up a fight! Good luck!
Hungary are undefeated for 14 games now, havnt lost a game since Szobo has been captain. They beat and tied Germany in their last 3 encounters and beat England back to back one time being 0-4 in England. They beat Serbia back to back also last year. Scotland started their qualifying strong but have been on a decline since beating Spain and the Swiss are not preforming as well as previous years. I think Germany will top the group being the host nation but I'd say Hungary will end 2nd with Scotland 3rd and the Swiss last.

Yeah or Hungary or Denmark. Both Romania, Hungary and Denmark is stronger than to finish last, all 3 looked very tough in qualifying. Romania and Hungary did not loose a game, and Denmark won every home match and one of their only two losses was in their last game when they had already secured first place.
Here are my predictions:
Winner: Germany 🇩🇪 (They have experience, talent and are playing in their home soil with their fans)

The only prediction that really missed the mark was Denmark and Romania on the last place in their groups. But to be fair, Denmark wasn't all that convincing and Group E could've went either way. If Ukrainian defense hadn't collapsed in the second half against Romania - they could've qualified and Romania would end up on the 3/4 place.

i think Belgium is being underestimated at this moment. Yes the big famous players are retired from the national team and the ones that still play are over their top but there are many top level talents that are maybe a bit too young and inexperienced at this point. So at one side you have ambitious young talents and next to them you have Lukaku, De Bruyne, Vertonghen, ... i think this could be the perfect mix of good experienced older players and young blood. If players like De Bruyne guide these young ones it could end up to be the perfect formula. On top of this is the fact that now there is no pressure at all. previous big events it was always "the perfect chance for the golden generation". now they can go there and say we are underdogs we will see what it brings. personally i give them more chance to win this EC and even next WC potentially than ever before. A lot will depend on their current form ofcourse. If De Bruyne suffers from injuries it's game over against the Netherlands. But normally i would say 75/25 to win against them.

I think you're underestimating Belgium a bit. They completed their qualifying campaign unbeaten and played almost the entire campaign without kdb and Courtois. Tedesco has also been doing well in trying to integrate the upcoming generation. The midfield and attack are still really good, it's just the defense that's a problem but guys like Debast en De winter seem really promising. Casteels and Sels seem to be also doing fine in goal now that Courtois has declared he won't play in euro's.

Fair prediction, I would say as an England fan that we would struggle playing against Italy, Croatia or France so wouldn’t take us to beat Italy and France in a row.

Austria has a great team! But i do think you're underestimating Netherlands a bit. They haven't gotten the chance to put up their most optimal performance yet, due to a LOT of injuries. They had 13(!) injuries in their first match against France and 12(!) in the second match against France. Right now, due to the squad upgrade from 23 to 26, I think they have one of the best squads of this Euro. Look at their young team: Maatsen, Van de Ven, Frimpong, New keeper Flekken, Xavi Simmons, Summerville, Koopmeiners, Reijnders, Gravenberch, Gakpo and the list goes on. If they can play as a team at the Euro's I think they will really put up a fight! Good luck!

Hungary are undefeated for 14 games now, havnt lost a game since Szobo has been captain. They beat and tied Germany in their last 3 encounters and beat England back to back one time being 0-4 in England. They beat Serbia back to back also last year. Scotland started their qualifying strong but have been on a decline since beating Spain and the Swiss are not preforming as well as previous years. I think Germany will top the group being the host nation but I'd say Hungary will end 2nd with Scotland 3rd and the Swiss last.
