I live near canoe lake where caver showed 9ff a little blue apatite...I have been to 2 locations there thanks to his little clue....this man single handedly got my family and I into rockhounding!!thank you caver!!!!I hope to visit darkstar with my family
Our pleasure. One of our main goals is to bring the knowledge of crystals to people. There is so much to know and we are still learning ourselves. Hopefully that learning will never stop.
I love how you show the steps of cleaning so we can see what looks like straight out of ground to cleaned up. Could you do more like that please because a lot of people would throw away not realising how awesome they look cleaned up
@Caver461 It's a trek from down in the states, but it'd be well worth it for an exceptional locality like that! Certainly nothing like that around here! Definitely will see if the opportunity arrises to get there!
Mick!! You're (finally!!) back!! You have been missed! Spectacular finds. You are well?? Happy New Year, from New England (Mass. -- remember?) Best, Joe Russell
Hey Mick, it's good to have you working on your passion. Your a legend man, much love and respect to you my greatest mentor. Still waiting for that gorilla glue you promised me
wow!! Happy Christmas to you Mr Caver461, we havnt see you a while, we almost thought you went to Mexico again! nice to hear you have a claim, and happy to see you again!
I enjoyed the video quite a lot, the CEO has some lovely looking crystals, finding pieces like those much be a great feeling, even some of those small ones. Can’t see that I will get a chance to check out your mine, a little far from my place in South East Queensland. Truly wish you and Chris all the best with the venture.
Hope to see you out there through the OVMC. What is a 50lb smash bar? Definitely curious as my brother and I enjoy the heavy digging and extraction and this is the first I've heard of this specific tool.
Well, we were thinking of separating the fissures as to those where we could continue our earth crystal extractions and then have other fissures for people who want to practice more conventional means. 50 pound smash bar in Mark's hands gets you access to anything. Not sure if you live in s. Ontario, but Princess Auto sells them for $60. Yeah they're long heavy crowbars with tips made for pounding.
@Caver461 thanks Michael. I'm in Ottawa and we have Princess Auto here. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks for sharing the adventures and knowledge. Helped me immensely with finding better specimens in general. Found a nearly 2lb double terminated quartz crystal by 6 Mile Lake Provincial Park thanks to your tips on following that vein. 😀
Our website is under construction and I'm not sure if it can be viewed publicly yet, but its URL is darkstarcrystalmines.com. Closer to March we will go totally public with the sight and people will be able to buy specimens, book trips through their local mineral club etc.
You guys need to look into a china made mini excavator, they are incredibly cheap and you guys are old enough to want to save your body. Season Greetings 🎄❄☃🥂

This is just north of T.O. (3 hrs north that is). Stuff from the Lockport doloston yields some beautiful stuff. Some of the quarries around Grimsby produce fluorite, selestine and sphalerite.
@@Caver461 what advice do you have for someone whos looking to get deep into finding gems??? beginner stuff, what to look for, i find rivers and creeks hold alot of easy pickers sometimes.. but nothing like what you have dug up...

Ha Ha - we were just talking about getting a mini X in to clear off the topsoil, but I think we may need some government permits to do that right now.
Yer focus is broken man.
It seems to be. I'm working on it as it is a new camera so it might also just be me.
