Hi so parrot pellets that are healthy for parrots are expensive . Let’s try and make some of our own that are super nutritious and make our bond with our birds even closer.
Thank you so much for this video! I live in Canberra and have just become the proud Mumma of a 2yr Sun Conure. Myself being conscious of what I eat, was shocked when looking at the ingredients in pellets. With limited options available, been looking for a good recipe.
I’m not sure , the reason I freeze mine is to make it last a long time and I live in a very tropical area . Not much here lasts without preservatives or vinegar or a lot of salt and you can’t put those in the bird food. Maybe make sure the food is completely dry before vacuum sealing it? Or maybe using foil packaging to keep it fresh ?

Pellets feel like a gimmick - it blows my mind so much of a birds diet is just the colonial’s famous 11 herbs and spices.
Is there a way of making a dry no need to freeze version? I made bird toys for a living and want to expand into making food
