God bless law enforcement. for better or worse these people’s work holds criminals accountable for the actions they take against the rights of our free citizens. Thanks sheriff and all of your staff from the green mountain state.
There’s definitely a caveat to that. While in that prison, the inmates definitely run the show. If you think for one moment that they can’t get, or do ANYTHING they want, you’re fooling yourself. You’ve obviously never been there. The inmates definitely run the prison. Guards even ask permission to do stuff sometimes. Look up BCDC Baltimore city detention center corruption case. Inmate had multiple children with multiple guards while locked up. Had drugs, cash, cell phones, street food, cigarettes, and every other convenience free people have except leaving at will.
It makes me chuckle when prisoners complain about the conditions in prison .Prison is supposed to suck .Don't do stupid shit and you won't go to prison .
I hear you, but they are treated inhumanely and rape is never justified. Taking someone’s freedom is justice enough, people being in 105 degree weather with no ac is torture. Rape is torture. A guy was sent to prison for 2 years for third degree theft , he was set to get out and was kidnapped for 3 days in prison and raped to death. That just happened. There’s no justification for his sentence or his rape death.
Living in America is great there is no place better in the world that has our freedoms. But you're totally right about not wanting to do law enforcement. No way, 1/2 the public is ignorant and disrespects the public servants and the government does not have their back when politics is involved. Being a CO at a prison would suck having to smell B.O. and cheetos all day, but they have 10 grand hiring bonuses now and make 70 grand a year to start, sitting around all day and getting fat. Really not that simple. Our laws are set up where we can't even go to work without breaking several laws weather we recognize it or not. We need a revamp of the system since some petty crimes get more harsh punishment then some felonies. For every law they add they need to remove 2....maybe that will help. I find it funny when some say "I know the law" really? Which one? As the police, attorneys and judges don't even know them and often get them wrong.
Except it isn't that simple. Not everyone is guilty. Many can't afford a good lawyer and plead guilty to avoid a long sentence. Hopefully you never have to be in that position because you won't like it.
Oh boy oh boy..... It's way more complicated than that. Obviously don't be a criminal but you can very easily be charged for something you did not do. Happens every day!!!

Probably around 2018
@@MrWarrenRB So she's been out for like five years already, this doc must be old..
Wicked soundtrack man ! Top vid too. 👍
The title is Maryland Prisons, but it focuses on a jail. The description says albany new york, but this is Frederick County and PG County.
On minute 42:53 - The guy who said he was smart was asked a simple question - do you think you'll go back to prison. The answer could have been - i'm going to do everything within my power to not repeat or do anything that'll make me go back to prison. Instead, he said they might have to kill me this time. Like really bruv.
Can’t change if you don’t change your surroundings and the people you continuously interact with.
Yeah, it wasn’t too smart when he pulled the pic out from the hiding spot or after he got out and said he couldn’t be recorded in that certain spot. He has an opportunity with his wife who is supporting him but he’s clearly going to screw it up.
Half of my family has been locked up.....I can tell you....he is not ready. I will pray for dude
she didn't even pick the trash gloves up on the yard that she was checkin LOL what a joke
Why would Best Documentary post a video like this? It’s excellent journalism but it seems they had 2 versions and perhaps uploaded the wrong one. Like the pre narrated version and then the narrated version
I dont know WTF was wrong with me going in and out of prison. I cant do it.
@MachinePalmToo bad you never learned any edquitte and self awareness.
@MachinePalmno one cares lmfao
Can't do what son
@MachinePalmgood luck to you hopefully if you doing anything at least take that money and try to start a new chapter or another book if possible just to many haters out there

Lol the Sheriff refered to himself as Russel Crowe in Gladiator
Ahaha ikr , yeah he thinks , his ass more like ole Saint Nick
What's with the fight blurring?.... LAME!
Is this a documentary on the use of B roll or prison...
I am totally obsessed with watching shows about prison & Jail. I am fascinated by seeing how each institution runs, particularly in other countries. I also like to have interest and empathy in listening to each inmates journey. I wish I was able to become a (Social Worker) and actually work in a prison. To offer support, guidance and understanding.
I really hope more documentaries can be made , including prisons from around the world. 🌟🙏🌟🙏🌟🙏
That was a weird prison doco!
I agree 💯
How did you manage to get such clear audio in this video?
yuuuuuuuur what up best documentary
Huh, you look after your daughter? No, you needed to look after her long ago, before she got into trouble. What a mentor you are, give me a break!
I did fifthteen years in prison in the bahamas at 17 but god use it to save me and make me a better man praise yahweh
WTF is a yahweh? Is that like a head of cabbage or some crap like that?
“They’re not in control” -The guy who’s in prison by choice and can leave when he wants
No music because we know you will play it loud and annoy everyone
This is jail, not prison.
Nah Jessup is a medium security PRISON here in Maryland
It’s mostly at diagnostic, the purgatory between jail and prison, but there are some scenes in prisons.
I'm sorry I will never see how this type of inhumane torture is supposed to help or teach any kinda of lesson all it does is cause more anger and mental illness and cause life to be that much harder when finally free again they can't get jobs or housing so so incredibly sad
You are right unfortunately beth
Beth, so what's your solution? Tell me
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time
It’s not totally for rehabilitation. If that can happen great, but these people are here so they can’t cause any more harm to innocent people. You don’t want to go to prison, act like a human being, and stop preying on weaker people.
I’m from Frederick country a town called Thurmont plenty of drugs to go around, this place is no joke fr
Love that guy saying "the screws think they're in control, but they got no idea". The screw goes home after his shift, where do you go buddy? Thats right, back to your cell.
Maryland is a very weird state
How so?
Care to share 🤔
Just to bad yall watch this documentary and don’t know what’s going on 💁🏽

Showing prison fights from 40 years ago is criminal.
That crazy sherif, thinks he's Rusell crowe in Gladiator, please Give me a break.
Not listening to music is terrible. That itself is a cruel punishment.
No matter what Crime was committed. These places are supposed to rehabilitate.
Mom and daughter in prison wow
I thought at first they were either nurses or counselors.
Somethings off with the sound. They reply to a question, yet nothings been asked.
Am I the only one who’s stumped by this?
That mom seems so sweet this is all a shame
Yes, a real sweetheart. In prison with her daughter!
@@SJC49 nice people get locked up too. People make mistakes. Hell there’s probably just as many ex cons out here living righteously than there are good people who aren’t actually judge mental pos.

I like the Prison suits,they look HAPPY😂
becuase you've never worn them!
@subtim14 talking like that he better hope he never does.
Just a heads up, the video description says it's Albany New York, but it is Baltimore.
Six of one, half dozen of another!
they really need to change this from being a money game and really try to help rehabilitate people that need help off the streets or medical facilities for the ones who really need treatment not smocks and a cot
Get out your checkbook and we’ll go from there
@Hillbillykaren it's gonna take more than one check book. It will definitely take some effort by us u.s. citizens as well.
Dude's got a girlfriend from jail, and so many of us are free men and can't even find one 😂
I got exes from jail to I got girls in the free world it’s just how u move.
its a difficult job being an officer. there is definitely people in there that shouldnt be. even tho you only see the good ones in videos like these which i respect. but the few out there are definitely fcked up abusing their power ruining it for those who wanna help the community
also kinda funny how the lady said; ''if you can in illegally you are going to be transported out'' just imagine her forefathers came in illegally. that ground would be more legally owned by mexicans than the whole fcking U.S.A inhabitants lol
I don’t understand why you clipped in La county jail video. But I’ve been in the jessup jail got PR and never went back 😂
This documentary was incredibly slow and poorly put together
i think the "no music" rule is a bit harsh. Otherwise it seems like well run prison.
No music in rehab either
God bless law enforcement. for better or worse these people’s work holds criminals accountable for the actions they take against the rights of our free citizens. Thanks sheriff and all of your staff from the green mountain state.
How's that boot taste?
I think jobs like this should make daily PT mandatory. Your physical fitness could determine your ability to stay safe while on shift.
This is county jail, not PRISON. 😂
Nah Jessup is a medium security PRISON here in Maryland

If you can't walk out the front door the sheriff's are in charge sir.
Old mate under lock and key wearing a clown outfit...... yeah boy, you in charge for sure.....
@@speedmachine69 They have maximum security too.
Sheriff's up on fed charges now his damn self. Oh, how the worm has turned😂
9:13 I cringed when he ran his hand under that. No. Use a pen or a mirror.
@@Variant1on1They don't kidnap.

You couldn't pay me enough to live in AMERICA and to be a COP there?? No way jose i take my hat off to them though..
Stay Based Bro.👍

I appreciate watching prison documentary,it reminds me of were i was & to stay doing the right thing, I went to prison & October 1998 release December 2000 haven't been back since wasted almost 2 years of my life it's easy to get in hard to get out
I'll be a Maryland Sheriff in Fedrick this year and I'll do my best to keep the town safe and myself as I do my job
wanta cookie
Follow the laws, don’t be a hypocrite, don’t bring shame on yourself or your department.
It’s amazing how they try and justify their actions that led them in there. Don’t do crime and u won’t get locked up, simple
It's easy for you to speak it. L
US system is completely fxcked up. The guards and cops have an ego as big as Jupiter. Glad I don't live in the country of the "brave".
Oh boy oh boy..... It's way more complicated than that. Obviously don't be a criminal but you can very easily be charged for something you did not do. Happens every day!!!
I’m confused, what did the first guy do to end up in prison?
Murder
That prison is gorgeous. You gotta see what the can looks like here in the third world. More like an ultracrowded postapocalyptic slum.
It is. When I was there, I always told them it's the cleanest safest place I have ever been too. & the staff was very polite to me.
