  • This is a discussion of C.S. Lewis’s most comprehensive work of literary criticism. It helpfully identifies the main sources and outlines the character of the pre-Enlightenment world.

Amor Fati, love of fate. Jesus like Socrates loves his fate and goes willingly to his own death.

There is nothing I like hearing you lecture on more than The Discarded Image, indeed it's how I first found you. Your teaching on the important role that the old astronomy played I have found uniquely valuable; a great complement to Philip Stott's science-lectures on the subject. Can't wait for the rest!

We accept good vs evil, knowing it should be holy vs evil. Good vs bad is consistency. Good vs evil allows evil before holy. God is more than good, but man who thinks he's God will accept good as godliness. There is good and bad also there is holy vs evil. The devil is in the details. And God, O C D's tails of the devil. They have points by being pointless.
