What I really like about your test rides is that they're not about horsepower, torque, speed, etc. Just the enjoyment of wind in your face, the pleasure of two wheeling, and how you explain yourself!
I recently purchased my first HD and it was the Road King S. Departing from Ducati Monsters and SS bikes to a Bagger was a leap. I am not disappointed at all. The King is comfortable controllable and eats the miles up. Best bike I have ever owned.
I rode a '98 Road King for 6 years ( it had a '96 inch S&S top end so went right along). Six hour riding sessions were easy and I really liked that bike because I could flick it around on backroads, although, below 20 mph, there was a lot of up and down shifting A Memphis Shades windshield did a good wind & rain cutting job. At 78 y/o I have finally stepped down to a Heritage softail because the RK was getting heavy for me at slow speeds on gravel roads (which crop up a lot here in N. Cal.) Actually, one day, parked in gravel, it fell over and I couldn't get enough footing to right it; too heavy for me now! Finally, I concur: FLOOR BOARDS ARE A MUST... I'll NEVER go back to pegs!!! Thanks for all your work on these vlogs. Fun!
I absolutely love my '21 Road King Special in Black Jack Metallic!! The 114 is such a ripper that I'm pushed back in my seat every time I leave a stop light!!! You can't go wrong with the KING!! You throw a windshield on it for the long rides and the world is yours!!
I'm currently riding a 2010 Road King and have been really happy with it. Mine has the quick detach windshield and a tour pack on the quick disconnect system. It's about perfect for me since I'm not really interested in the info-tainment monstrosity that Harley insists on putting in the fairings of the touring bikes.
I am definitely a Road King guy. Got to have the full removable windshield. I like to remove the windshield for that wind therapy on the hot days locally. Putting the windshield back on for highway riding.
I bought my 2016 Road King last year and I love it. I just got back last week from going to Ocean City MD from Salem OH 450 mi one way it was the first time riding that far on a motorcycle it was great I definitely could do a 500 mi day easy on it. Yes the windshield is great to have and mine just comes on in seconds. Have fun riding and stay safe.
Road King favorite! Don’t need the Boom or nav systems. iPhone and Bluetooth dies the job. And you are right that bike handles great! Put a detachable wind shield on it for trios and you are golden!
I love my 1998 Road King Classic EVO. Only 25,000 miles and looks like it just came off the assembly line. RK's are the best bike Harley ever made. I know why you liked it!!
I changed my 2019 Road Glide Special for a 2021 Road King Special in snake venom. Couldn't be happier. Love the wind on my chest and the unobstructed view. And nimble, yes Mam!
Picked mine up in June, 2021 black on black. 2nd RK, have a 2020 Slim as well. Have had 15 bikes dating back to 1977, by far, nothing close, to the 2021 RKSpecial. Added Corbin Snake skin seat, small windshield, slip ons, bike flat out moves. Rode all 3 baggers, nothing as pure as a road King. 6’4”, 260, fits perfect. Highly recommend!
I've had two Road Kings and two Street glides. They both have their advantages. Road king much more maneuverable and nimble as you stated. Nothing beats the Street Glide on my trips form Atlanta to Sturgis, Maine, Key West, Massachusetts, Indiana, Myrtle Beach, Daytona, St Pete, Paris Island, Savanah all in three years. I think everyone should have one of each.
Favorite bagger? My Chieftain Dark Horse. With that being said, the Road King is one of my all time favorite bikes, period. If ya gotta ride HD, get an RK and put a windshield on it and ride. my brother rides an gorgeous 2009 Road King and it’s just one bad ass looking and riding bike. He did make the mistake of riding my Indian…messed up his head. Ride the one YOU like. They are all great bikes.
I've got a 2018 Road King (Standard). One thing I love is that for a road trip I have a large windshield (Klock Werks), and then other times I take the windshield off. Road King is my favorite.
that road king is just the big brother to your dyna... and you are certainly at that riding level for sure. you are are a great rider and an inspiration for all bikers... from new to experienced... go get that wind!
I just got a road king maybe 3 months ago and I couldn't be happier. The only gripe I have with the bike is the older style hard bags with the funky latch and pivot in tops.
I have the 2020 Road King Special Vivid Black. So far I have changed the bars for 17" apes, change seat...the ultimate seat, stage one with full Rinehart exhaust, intake, tuner. I love it! I would very much recommend the RKS!
Jess, Nox is basically a mini bagar. It would make sense that you have a thing for them. Edit: Just wanted to add for a windshield on a roadking I’d go quick detach that way you can get the raw feeling but if one were to take a very long trip or it got cold out and one wanted to ride in the colder weather it would be a bit more comfortable
My first Harley was a Heritage Classic. I then stepped up to the Road King and have never looked back. Many of my friends ride the Road Glide. But for me, the Road King is it!
The Road King always came with a clear wind shield so the you still have the view but also have the wind protection. plus you can also put a truck on the bag for the full bagger.
I am a Street Glide rider. I own a Full Dresser Ultra Classic HD and an old HD Dyna Wide Glide. A fairing does not make you less a rider over one without IMHO!
That’s one of the nice things about the Road King, detachable windshield. I have had both the Road King and Road Glide. I did a lot of long road trips, on both. The Road Glide just does a better job with how the wind at high speeds affects the handling. But you can’t beat the clean look of the Road King with the windshield off and cruising around town.
Hell yeah. Love my 19 road King special. Definitely a lot more Road Glides and Street Glides out there. It's nice to have something a little different. Just enjoyed Laconia ride. I have yet to get the detachable windscreen. Jumped on cam kit first
Definitely the road king. I traded in my 2016 road glide for a 2020 road king and fell in love with the bike. Nimble is the correct word for that bike I love the options I can put on it we have a tour pack and a street glide style fairing for longer distances and when we get home just quick detach everything
Jess, the Road King is easy to fall in love with! All I did was sit on one in the showroom....and I was sold without a test ride! 10,000 miles later and there's no looking back. The RK classic is something you need to test ride......You be good!
I had a road King and rode it coast to coast twice, but I kept looking at a Road Glide, well in late 2017 I test rode a Road Glide Special and within an hour my tags was swapped over and I rode away on a brand spanking new bike! I loved my Road King and still regret not keeping it but I knew I would rarely ride it, BUT I love my Road Glide which I updated to a 2019 model 10 months later (long story). To me the Road Glide is the ultimate bike, perfect for bar hopping or riding across country .... 'if you ain't gliding your not riding'....
I just got a Road King Special. Absolutely LOVE it. It makes a ton of power looks awesome and you can whip it around without the fear of that heavy faring causing a drop. The classic is a bit too old man for me but when I get too old for the Special I'll get a classic.....if it's good enough for the cops to be abusing and scraping the floorboards in hairpins there's definitely something to it. My will turn shaper at low speed than I really want to if I'm honest, but it's nice to have that ability.
I have a 2019 Road King Special. I’ve always loved the Road King Classic but something about the blacked-out special spoke to me. Only thing; phenomenal bike, horrendous handle bars. I’m 6’ 4 and found the stock RKS handle bars terribly uncomfortable. I’ve since upgraded to Factory 47, 16” bars and love it. Super comfortable and super cool looking.
The Streetglide is my favorite, but do like all three. I do agree with you wind screen, would be a must for the road king, but I do like having GPS and radio on my dash
With Harley's wide spectrum of after market parts, you can get a quick detach windscreen and leave it home when not needed. But when you have different bikes in the stable, you can pick a suitable bike for how you want to spend your day.
Jess...I put a call into the ut-oh squad... they're alerted and at the ready...so try and keep your enthusiasm for the Road King to a manageable level...the other bagger is the much overlooked Heritage Classic...have a great rest of your week...
I just bought an '04 Road King and I love it windscreen on. I'll take it off at some point and see how it affects the bike. I don't know much about the bike because I just bought it and will be taking it in for the 25k mile service a bit early and that will get me a little more info on the bike. So far I love the it, handles great, isn't the fastest or quickest but that isn't the reason I chose it. I love the looks of this older bike and the one I bought came with the driver and passenger backrest's installed. I've had a lot of back surgeries and that was important to have. The wife can't wait to get on it with me, so depending what the shop finds this week I can't wait either. I have my list of concerns ready and budget worked out.
I myself would have to pick the street glide went out last weekend and set on all kinds of bikes, almost every road king had my riding way up to close,as soon as I set on a street glide it was like home, just my opinion.
Knew you would love this one! It was one of my first test drives and I loved it! Unfortunately, I have a fused neck so a windshield of some sort keeps my neck from getting so tired on even short drives. I still loved it though!! Drive the Street Glide for longer rides and Slim with a Grandma detachable windshield for short trips! 🤓
If it wasn't for my stunning 2019 Indian Springfield in gray and burgundy, I would have leaned towards a classic Road King. To me they're both the epitome of the retro cruiser class, timeless marques.
Road Glide Special, slightly heavier but you get wind protection, more storage and an awesome Infotainment system. Just my opinion, whichever one you like, your riding her!
I'm glad you tried the road king. I love mine, but the first thing I changed was the seat (well pipes of course first, but that's a given). The road king seat is so wide my hip was hurting. And yes, it is nimble! In places where I scrape pegs with my dyna I have yet to scrape pegs with the king.
I'm pretty sure that is the same Demo Day crew that recently came through Chattanooga. I recognized one of the gentlemen in the video. I actually did a ride and review on that same bike! I loved it too!
The “Aaahhh, haaa, hahahaha” said it all. The Road King is the new Dyna Wide Glide. It’s a beautiful machine. With a big pinch it and git cam in this new one it would be a frigging storm trooper. It’s literally the reason I am waiting on the purchase of a new bagger. I live in Michigan and it’s cold and an open bike here is a temporary ride at best. Looking for justification and into the heated gear.
Love my street glide special. Rode them all before I bought one. I'm only 5'8" so I like how the street glide dash and everything is so much closer. Wasn't a fan of how the road glide radio was so far away
I ride a 2008 Heritage classic. I love her. If I had it to do over again I am really a fan of the Dyna Low Rider S. Although I haven't had a chance to ride the new Low Rider S, I love the looks. I did however get a chance to test out a 2021 Road King simply because at the time I needed something comparable to my Heritage; bags, windshield, etc. The only new Heritage they had in stock had really huge and wide apes. I sat on it and straight away I knew it wasn't for me. I couldn't even turn the bars lock to lock. The Road King felt fine except it was a little tall. But not actually taller than my Heritage with the stock seat. I had to put a reach seat on my Heritage. I am sure I would have to do that with a Road King.
Road King is my ride. Love it. I have the standard with stage 2. Comes with a clip on/clip off windshield so off around the city and on for the highway
I always liked the Road King, but like the SG too and the RG growing on me lol. THe Road King Special with a smoked WInd Splitter Screen looks awesome too.
I've test ridden all three. I would rate them in this order..... 1 Street Glide 2. Road Glide 3. Road King. But best bang for your buck is the Road King. Great review once again Jess.... you're amazing.
I have a 2013 RK, and had a 2002 Rk in the past. Great bikes. Dream bike is a St. Glide. But the roadking does everything I want it to do. And it's nice to be able to add or take off parts like windshields and tourpack if you want.
The Road King is the best. You feel like you're on a motorcycle instead of in your car with a big dashboard. They come with a quick removable windshield also.
Out here in Oregon you have to sign up to ride the model you want because soooo many people show up so you might get to ride two or three bikes on a demo day but it is nice to be able to try out different bikes
Road King all day. I ride a Classic. A Road King Standard with a factory 20 inch windshield, lower triple tree wind deflector, and fork deflector fangs cuts as much air except for a few inches on the sides as a Street/Electra Glide and Road Glide. I've ridden them all. Prefer the wide open view on the Road King and love seeing my chrome nacelle and passing lamps sparkle in the sun!
The road king has always been my dream bike, I've loved the road kings and the softails forever, however after having my sportster 1200 now for almost a year, I'm really like the street glides too now which I've never liked the bikes with the big fairings but its changing haha. Road kings will always have my heart. Glad you got to ride one. You felt badass on this bike because YOU ARE Badass!
There's something about or in the design of the RK Special that prevents much wind from blowing on the rider, at least until you reach about 60 mph. I absolutely LOVE the Road King Special!!!
I liked the 21 Road King Special so much I bought one.
Same!
Its called the King of the Road for a reason girl!!!
Enuff-SAID!!!!
What I really like about your test rides is that they're not about horsepower, torque, speed, etc. Just the enjoyment of wind in your face, the pleasure of two wheeling, and how you explain yourself!
Been riding a friends road king the last few weeks and finally told him I’d buy it. Absolutely love it. Quite the update from s sportster
Long Live the King! I love the feel of the wind on my 2019 Road King Special
I recently purchased my first HD and it was the Road King S. Departing from Ducati Monsters and SS bikes to a Bagger was a leap. I am not disappointed at all. The King is comfortable controllable and eats the miles up. Best bike I have ever owned.
You surely would save money from Ducati valve adjustments and belt changes!
Rode my brother's 2002 Road King and immediately fell in love with it! I'd love to have it!
It's about perfect for me since I'm not really interested in the info-tainment monstrosity that Harley insists on putting in the fairings of the touring bikes.
I’ve always liked the road king, get a clip on / off windshield for those longer rides and leave it off for daily use :)
Oh yeah love my quick release windshield
I am definitely a Road King guy. Got to have the full removable windshield. I like to remove the windshield for that wind therapy on the hot days locally. Putting the windshield back on for highway riding.
Wow! What a beautiful Road King! All blacked out , very pretty, Thanks for sharing!
I bought my 2016 Road King last year and I love it. Yes the windshield is great to have and mine just comes on in seconds. Have fun riding and stay safe.
As much as I am itching to get a Road Glide, The Road King just looks too gorgeous to pass up
I went from a 2009 Road King to a 2020 Road Glide Special and in my opinion get on that Road Glide it's just a great great bike and very powerful 👌
I just purchased a 2017 Road King Classic/Standard. I absolutely love my bike
Had mine since 99 and it’s a keeper!
The best handling bagger ever produced! If you’re not needing the infotainment system, the Road King is THE KING! 👍
I have a Road King Classic myself. I absolutely love it
Yup the Road King Special is truly special this has been my ride for the last three years
I changed my 2019 Road Glide Special for a 2021 Road King Special in snake venom. Couldn't be happier. Love the wind on my chest and the unobstructed view. And nimble, yes Mam!

I love the Road King...I just bought a 2021 RK 2 weeks ago, which was a upgrade from a Dyna Switchback!
Just titled my 2019 Road King Special today. I just love the clean lines of the special.
The road king is definitely one of my favorites and I like several, several bikes from many different manufacturers.
that road king is just the big brother to your dyna... and you are certainly at that riding level for sure. you are are a great rider and an inspiration for all bikers... from new to experienced... go get that wind!
I just got a road king maybe 3 months ago and I couldn't be happier. The only gripe I have with the bike is the older style hard bags with the funky latch and pivot in tops.
I have the 2020 Road King Special
Vivid Black. So far I have changed the bars for 17" apes, change seat...the ultimate seat, stage one with full Rinehart exhaust, intake, tuner. I love it! I would very much recommend the RKS!
Jess, Nox is basically a mini bagar. It would make sense that you have a thing for them.

Love my ‘19 Road King. Not a fairing fan.
A wise man once said about the RK; “It’s got everything you need and nothing you don’t.”
Steet Glide Special is the last bike I owned and it was the love of my life.
I have one now best bike out there by far great looks and ride is top notch
My first Harley was a Heritage Classic. I then stepped up to the Road King and have never looked back. Many of my friends ride the Road Glide. But for me, the Road King is it!
Oh now we're talkin . I've been riding a road king custom for 2 years and love it. Pull the trigger 👍👍
I drooled over the road king special for a few weeks then bought a 2018. Love it. Great videos!

I absolutely love my King. It's a 2016 103HO. Handles like the King it is.
Definitely the road king. I traded in my 2016 road glide for a 2020 road king and fell in love with the bike. Nimble is the correct word for that bike I love the options I can put on it we have a tour pack and a street glide style fairing for longer distances and when we get home just quick detach everything
Road King all the way. Its what I currently ride and I can't imagine riding anything else.
Jess, the Road King is easy to fall in love with! All I did was sit on one in the showroom....and I was sold without a test ride! 10,000 miles later and there's no looking back. The RK classic is something you need to test ride......You be good!

bought a 2021 road king special in black a week after watching this video!! now I have two harleys! great review!!
I ride this bike in the UK and the whole joy of it is the combination of the bagger and the open front
Windshield and a set of just a little taller bars and you would love it
I just got a Road King Special. Current Streetglide rider, had a road king for 17 years, love them
Road King, Road Glide, or Street Glide, let me throw another in the mix Electra Glide Standard. Cheaper than the other 3, runs and rides great.
Love my Road King. I like being able to quick detach windshield, passenger backrest, luggage rack. Good video Jess.👍👍
Road King, hands down! 🤘😎🤘
The Streetglide is my favorite, but do like all three. I do agree with you wind screen, would be a must for the road king, but I do like having GPS and radio on my dash
With Harley's wide spectrum of after market parts, you can get a quick detach windscreen and leave it home when not needed. But when you have different bikes in the stable, you can pick a suitable bike for how you want to spend your day.
nice bike my buddy had a 2009 beautiful bike they rode double his wife love it thanks for sharing ride safe
Jess...I put a call into the ut-oh squad... they're alerted and at the ready...so try and keep your enthusiasm for the Road King to a manageable level...the other bagger is the much overlooked Heritage Classic...have a great rest of your week...

I loved your test ride of this HD. You seem like a genuinely happy person and that's nice to see for a change😊👍
Love the road kings!
That’s what got me hooked!
Great vid Jess!
There’s a reason they call it the Road KING!!
Road Glide Special, slightly heavier but you get wind protection, more storage and an awesome
Infotainment system.
I just had the 114 street glide special out all last weekend. Amazing bike!
Enjoy it
Your bike was missing the fairing with speakers tho :((
I'm pretty sure that is the same Demo Day crew that recently came through Chattanooga. I recognized one of the gentlemen in the video. I actually did a ride and review on that same bike! I loved it too!
I test rode the Road King Special last fall and loved it. It’s probably going to be my next bike.
Oh shit... You may have me sold on the Road King Special!
When you said " on my goodness " I knew that RoadKing had you. There is a reason it’s the King
That black RKS is the beat looking machine HD makes imo.
2016 RG! Very comfortable. I like long rides. I can see why each of the bikes has its appeal. I like the road test rather than a review,
Road King is my ride. Love it. I have the standard with stage 2. Comes with a clip on/clip off windshield so off around the city and on for the highway
Great video! I just traded up to a Road King Special but I threw Legend shocks on it! Can’t wait to try it out!
I always liked the Road King, but like the SG too and the RG growing on me lol. THe Road King Special with a smoked WInd Splitter Screen looks awesome too.
That bike will be in your garage soon, great exhaust sound
I've test ridden all three. I would rate them in this order..... 1 Street Glide 2. Road Glide 3. Road King. But best bang for your buck is the Road King. Great review once again Jess.... you're amazing.
Dont remember when i was last this early for a video. Never liked the look of most baggers but this thing looks sweet.
I love the way BaggerBro built out his road king!
I have a 2013 RK, and had a 2002 Rk in the past. Great bikes. Dream bike is a St. Glide. But the roadking does everything I want it to do. And it's nice to be able to add or take off parts like windshields and tourpack if you want.
my favorite is my Triumph Tiger 1050 SE that Ive wridden across America coast to coast 4 times
The Road King is the best. You feel like you're on a motorcycle instead of in your car with a big dashboard. They come with a quick removable windshield also.
The special doesnt come with a screen.
Out here in Oregon you have to sign up to ride the model you want because soooo many people show up so you might get to ride two or three bikes on a demo day but it is nice to be able to try out different bikes
I believe all Road Kings come with quick detach windshields. Mine did, but I have a standard not a special...
Special doesn’t come with windshield
Road King all day. I ride a Classic. A Road King Standard with a factory 20 inch windshield, lower triple tree wind deflector, and fork deflector fangs cuts as much air except for a few inches on the sides as a Street/Electra Glide and Road Glide. I've ridden them all. Prefer the wide open view on the Road King and love seeing my chrome nacelle and passing lamps sparkle in the sun!
I love that road king, but my favorite is the road glide
The road king has always been my dream bike, I've loved the road kings and the softails forever, however after having my sportster 1200 now for almost a year, I'm really like the street glides too now which I've never liked the bikes with the big fairings but its changing haha. Road kings will always have my heart. Glad you got to ride one. You felt badass on this bike because YOU ARE Badass!
Road Kings are wonderful. I rode one at an event in Tampa a few months ago and I was impressed. I friend of mine also rode it and he bought one.
I fell in love with the Road King Special in Vivid Black back in 2018. So I bought it. It is my favorite possession that I will ever own ;-)
There's something about or in the design of the RK Special that prevents much wind from blowing on the rider, at least until you reach about 60 mph. I absolutely LOVE the Road King Special!!!
yup. only bagger id consider buying. its thing of beauty
Just bought the RKS in Deadwood Green.mmmmmmmm love it…AND I drove 2 1/2 hours to buy it from Farrow North! See Jason, great guy.
The RK is the best Harley bagger 💯 in my opinion. I went from a Streetbob to a 2020 RK and I love it
