Does anyone know how the disconnections work? Like is it partially disconnected, one way disconnected, is it assuming the group kept steady power and renders them that way, is it assuming I kept constant power, ...? I recently got dropped as only rider during my best B race doing PB level power whilst being disconnected and the group seemed to just slowly ride away.
Usually lunch time or late night EST depending if I’m wfh or not. Weekends is a wildcard. Best is to follow me on Zwift and set your notifications on when I’m go online… then SADDLE UP!
@@DontGetDroppedCycling I am referring to the power zone bar beneath the watts number. Blue and Green (BG) are basically group ride zones. The yellow, orange and red (YOR) zones are racing zones. In these flat courses, it's easy to end up with a sprint start and sprint finish, and more or less the equivalent of a group ride in between. Thus, the BG (blue/green) proportion is a large share of the total effort. I find these boring. I am too heavy to be a good climber or sprinter, so it's just not a thrilling experience in my case, and I find I need to supplement the race with an additional workout. The remedy for flat courses, as you demonstrated by example, is to ride a class above your normal level. This I have done, and that makes the race more exciting, in the sense that you're hanging on by your fingernails, just as you were in the previous race (the 284 FTP race). I'd add that I use the races as my daily workouts, which I have done for the last two months now. I just love it. But that means I want a full workout during the race, so I'm looking to push as hard as I can when I'm racing. That's a bit different than trying for a podium. You can follow me on Strava or Zwift if it's of interest: Steven Kopits. I am a veritable Yeti: 63 yo, 113 kg, 314 FTP, 125 bpm. Those kg's have to come down, and they are.
Range 1 to 650: this porridge is too cold 🥶 Advanced: this porridge is too hot 🥵 Range 2 to 700: this porridge is just right 🥣🥣 Actually, for this month's ZHQ Flat is Fast series, Advanced has actually been just right for me but, once they put bumps back in the road again, I'll probably be spending most of my time in this Range 2 700 pen.
Happy Anniversary Erik! You got the fancy Fuego Flats jersey too.

Nobody in the UK understands the need for winter tyres, until they are being schooled by physics.
Game changer for the winter!

Group ride with a 200 m sprint. 60% BG, 40% YOR. Eh.
I’m gonna need a glossary for what BG and YOR stand for 🤪

Maybe need to try Stage 2 Advanced this week 🤔
@@DontGetDroppedCycling Did it yesterday. It's not too bad. Just don't do it with Ed Laverack . . . 🤣
