Our National Parks Roadtrip is not QUITE what we imagined…

- We thought we had a plan to guide our roadtrip…
We started the week thinking we finally had destinations to guide our journey - Lets do a roadtrip across America to see AND share all the National Parks!
We headed to Hot Springs National park since we were traveling out of Texas after the first park of our roadtrip was guided by the Solar Eclipse!
We explored the cuty of Hot Springs, the surrounding natural beauty and even Hot Springs National Park.
As we wrapped up this journey it came to our attention that perhaps this plan of seeing all the parks AND sharing the journey we capture may not line up with our goals and ambitions.
Traveling and sightseeing is one of our main goals. However, filming, photography and sharing our journey helps capture these memories for us, and fuels us and our creativity. These things are all important for us in our goals for fulfillment. So perhaps we need to rethink our destinations and also make sure we have a clear understanding of what we can share legally if we do venture into the National Parks without limiting ourselves. We’re going to look into this as we would love to share National parks we explore too!
Our favorite thing about starting this vanlife journey remains the same - meeting people and sharing stories.
Perhaps a roadtrip across the country doesnt have to be bound be arbitrary destinations, numbers or milestones?…

I understand your concern, but I believe you shouldn't worry about the notification. The key factors here are time and intention. If, at the time of filming, you have no intention of using the content for commercial purposes, you shouldn't be concerned. The law takes into account the circumstances and intentions at the time of creation, NOT potential future changes. If, in the future, your TH-cam channel becomes monetized, you can address the issue then. Perhaps he can obtain the necessary permissions or take steps to comply with regulations. But for now, since your intention is purely personal and not commercial, you should be in the clear. Enjoy the trip and capture those memories!

Also, speaking of analytics. The national parks have been over run because analytics have shown the parks far and wide. TH-cam has sparked more interest than the parks have capacity. I have a monetized TH-cam channel based in Utah and I used to host a network travel tv show. They just don’t want the algorithms spreading the treasures of the parks and causing over use. That’s all it is.
