I bought the same setup and it worked great for the first 2 years. Then it stopped picking up leaves or grass, deck and tube is clean. I’ll try covering the inlet when the tubing go in see if that helps. Thanks for the video.
I’ve got one on a 48” craftsman that I have been using from 2010. Had to replace bottom chute twice pine cones and sticks will eventually break it. Must use hi loft blades to work but other than that it works well for me still. I have 6 big oaks, and 3 pine trees so all fall and winter it gets worked.
drilled a small hole in the lid handle and use a bungee cord attach to the frame, to keep the lid snug. We had to do all the same modifications on the double bagger. Not a great design.Good job
Great review!! Currently waiting for the end of season sales, to pick one up, since you helped me make up my mind that it was a good idea. I will be making your mods when it arrives, as you seem to have better results than I did with the stock one I owned 6 years ago.
That's exactly what I did! I believe I had it in my shopping cart for a couple months and it came on sale for around $100 off. I think the key is understanding what it can do, I think any bagger would have a hard time bagging up really tall or wet grass. Good luck and enjoy!
Buy it at Lowes as a last resort. I just got one for $90 in the box brand new on Facebook marketplace. No more raking leaves. Mine is the same one for a Husqvarna but it fits on a craftsman made by Husqvarna.
Nice video. I jusr bought a 2 bagger for my 38" Huskie and already thought that the duct opening into the bins was not wide enough to empty into the 2nd bin. I might alter like you've done. And I've also observed how that rubber membrane wont last long either. I paid over $900 Australian for mine.
$399 at Lowes Jan 2023. Edit: Had the same issue with the discharge chute opening... Filled to a large mound in the left bin and middle bin, but the right side was only a quarter full when the chute fully clogged. Obviously, the mounded debris in the middle bin became high enough to prevent debris from discharging from the tube. Like having a two-bin for the price of three. Absolutely should be an issue addressed during design.
No I don't have a blower on mine and I don't think you'd need one. Maybe with other models. Mine sucks up the grass just fine without any type of blower in it.
Yep, it absolutely should come with the bagger, just make sure the bagger you buy states that it will work for your specific mower and it should come with everything needed to attach and use it.
My issue with my bagger is that the tube is shorter that the one you got and its cut at a 45 degree angle longer from top to bottom so when im mowing it vibrates itself out and shoots grass all over me. Lol.
Maybe a dumb question - but how do the bagger containers empty? Do they just pull out with those handles so you can dump each individual container out easily? I'm going to buy this for scalping my Bermuda lawn in my new home and from what I"m told, I'm going to produce a LOT of clippings so emptying is definitely a concern.. I plan on dumping at the back of my property. Thanks!
I don't think my mower is sucking the grass up correctly. Maybe its because its taller wet grass? Maybe i need some high lift blades or something to get the grass lifted up more. Do you use regular blades or special blades that pull the grass up?
I'd guess the grass is either too long, or wet like you said. I find that it will still bag ok under those conditions as long as you mow more slowly to give it that extra airflow to suck it up. I use just the regular blades that it came with.
I think the extensive modifications you made to it prove it's a bad product. Appreciate the review. I'm going to steer clear of it and go with an off-brand solution, I think.
i have the 46 Husqvarna ,n bagger had to fix the stupid seal as well bought a 12 x12 rubber cut a smaller hole so the tube fits tighter, and has no slit that always tears,...works better, seems to suck all your soil up, so sometimes ill mow let it dry then go over it w bagger,or just let it mulch ,i remove the deck each time as the wash port is a joke,
Hi Karen, it should have instructions in with the bagger on how to install it, but it was very simple. If I remember right, there are two hooks on the arms of the bagger that slide over 2 protruding bolts on the outside of the back of your mower. Somewhere in between the two back tires.
Does your little red wheel turn? Mines doesn’t so I end up reaching around to tap my bags to check for fullness. It’s not that big of a deal but it’d be nice if it worked how it should.
If the measurements of the attachment points are the same, then it would fit just fine. If you have any issues let me know and I can go measure mine for you. Good luck!
When i bought mine (purchased at lowes same time as mower) it came with two different pieces for the deck connection. One for the 48 and one for 54. Mine clogs if grass is even a little damp
Hi. I bought mine about 4 years ago, it worked (like yours only filled 1 and a half bag. And clogs) for about 2 runs and it just started clogging where the two tubes attached. So and now the attaching parts are missing ( in the yard somewhere) and have not used it except the two times. It's a lot of money to waste for only 2 time use. Any suggestions?
"Here's the one I bought: www.lowes.com/pd/Husqvarna-9-Bushel-Triple-Bagger-for-54-in-Tractor/3200023. You can use the model number to try and find something that would work. Good luck!"
I've been debating about a Husqvarna grass bagger, do you think the triple bagger is worth the extra cost, and would the double bagger not have these problems ? I cut roughly 10,000 sq ft of tall fescue grass. Thank you
Hi John, if you're set on bagging the grass, then it will definitely save you some time. It can hold quite a bit. Here's some reference: If I mow for around five hours, then I'll fill the bagger around ten times. Also, the grass I mow is very thick and watered very often. I try to only bag it every other mow because it can add some time driving and dumping all the grass. When I bought mine, I'd had it open on my computer for about a month when it randomly came on sale for about $100 cheaper. Good luck!
Chase Anspach use a quick car war and spray inside of tubes and wipe with a rag until there is a shine. Allow to dry for about 30 minutes in the sun and you will be good. This worked for me.
Thank you for showing the way the bottom tube connects to the mower.
Exactly my issues as well..I just used old shirts and rags to plug up the gap.I got the same pricing..nice review.

Very helpful! Just purchased a 3 bag from Lowe’s
I'm glad it was helpful!

Good info! What did you cut the tube with the spout at the end.
Honestly I think I just used a razor blade. You could use any kind of saw though, it's just thick plastic.
Thanks for the video! Looking to purchase a bagger but I was told that I also needed a blower with it. Do you have a blower on yours? Thanks!
No I don't have a blower on mine and I don't think you'd need one. Maybe with other models. Mine sucks up the grass just fine without any type of blower in it.
Agree with everything you said...stay away from wet grass and pine straw
Does the CHUTE come with the bagger. I'm a rookie and I can't find that information anywhere!

I think I'll have to seal it how you go it there with the rivets and make it a permanent connection. Thank you!
@@sochoa2362 I'd love to hear how it works out for you.

Exactly that. They just pull out or up and you dump them like a basket. The lip of each basket just rests on the support bars from the frame.
Very easy..pull bags out. Empty
How do you install the side chute for the bagger? I have the same mower but putting the chute on is a bitch?
I use my mower lift from harbor freight

I have a 54 inch deck on a JD and they recommend a blower to get the grass back to the bags...what do you think? Yours seems to work well without...
Mine works just fine without as long as I'm not cutting super thick or wet grass. Do you mean a chute inline blower?
i have the 46 Husqvarna ,n bagger had to fix the stupid seal as well bought a 12 x12 rubber cut a smaller hole so the tube fits tighter, and has no slit that always tears,...works better, seems to suck all your soil up, so sometimes ill mow let it dry then go over it w bagger,or just let it mulch ,i remove the deck each time as the wash port is a joke,
Can you show how to install it im not smart with these thing.

It looks like you got the bagger for the LGT2654 on a smaller mower.
I'm not sure. The bagger was from Lowes as well and it fit perfectly.
Does your little red wheel turn? Mines doesn’t so I end up reaching around to tap my bags to check for fullness. It’s not that big of a deal but it’d be nice if it worked how it should.
It does, but only when it's almost full. I think that's the point though. But I also just reach and tap the bags all the time to check.
@@conciseisnice yeah I found that best just tap the bag.
Very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome.
I've had problems finding a 48 inch model, do you think a 54 will fit a 48?

Was the grass fairly wet or extra long (5-6 inches)? It will definitely clog more often the longer the grass is or if the grass is damp at all.
I have the same mower and my lower chute is damaged . Do you know the model number by any chance or where I can find one to purchase . Much thanks

mine is 20K sq ft and it is awesome, get the three bagger, the two is too small.
@@jaytua730 I appreciate the help..
GREAT video
Thanks!
Do you still have your husqvarna tractor ?
Yeah I do.
im guessing that if the bagger was too sealed it would put too much back pressure on the mower deck.
The netted bags should allow airflow until bags are full
Just got one and the drawbar will not slide into the grooves, any suggestions? Tractor is in the way
Well the two side hook sections should hook over the nuts, then the bar should just rest on the back of the mower.
Had to return, just would not fit
I have a craftman ztl8000 54 inch deck what grass catcher can I buy
Google your make and model and it will probably come up with suggestions. There are a lot of universal baggers that will probably fit.
I mowed an acre with this bagger and almost none of it ended up in the bagger. It just sitting in clumps in the lawn. Feel it’s a rip off at $500.
I just bought this one. 399 was nice when found out was on sale an got it for 199
I just got this bag and it sucks clogs very easily couldn’t even mow my whole field without it clogging every row
Chase Anspach use a quick car war and spray inside of tubes and wipe with a rag until there is a shine. Allow to dry for about 30 minutes in the sun and you will be good. This worked for me.
if you have mulching blades, remove them
Also, get some copperhead high lift blades, and make sure and keep the rpm’s up to assure its firing that grass up the tube.👍
Disregard, you have the hooks. I have the screws
So the cows were impressed....
Not at all! They were mad that I was cutting down all their food.
@@conciseisnice much like a vegetarian eating all their food!
Cheap! Not built very well
It’s a piece of shit in my opinion.
With the adjustments I've made it's worked pretty well for me.
