    Have it for a bit over one year and it is just amazing.. very good battery life, very good GPS lock time and the HRV is really accurate, seeing the impact of unhealthy habbits that affect the sleep and the HRV along the body battery.
    For running it is showing you all you need to know. The thing that matters to me, and this watch delivers, is the lightness, you can barely feel it. Also, quite durable, I knocked it up a few times but it stood up pretty well.

    Went to the 255s after a button died on my Fenix 7s. The battery life is supernatural and I hardly notice wearing it. I think it's the lightest Forerunner so will be wearing for my marathon next month. Marginal gains!

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All about those marginal gains.. I’m sure the reduced 10g of Watch weight would genuinely save you 1-2 minutes of the marathon time 🤣 I’m with you here.. tried the 255s after the 7s and was pleasantly surprised at how much more comfortable it was to wear.. I ended up collected much more sleep data and then got better training metrics 🙈 All the best Ewan 🌟

    Thanks for showing the bigger white one with a dark strap. I have a white 255s and the color is the only thing bothering me. Would prefer the more subtle grey. But looking at the other one, I think a dark blue strap could help.

    Probably one the best real life roundups of the watch features. It's pretty much sealed the deal for me... Although I am still tempted by the 265s for the amoled!
    I was surprised not to see football in the list of sports? I'm assuming it's hidden away in a menu somewhere to not scare the yanks?!

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What a lovely comment! I’m glad I sealed the deal for you, you’re going to love it!
      Ahh, yeah I won’t lie that 265s screen is juicy!
      I’ve just looked on my Fenix 7 pro and “soccer/football” is natively on the watch so Garmin have started to add this sport.. maybe it’s in the 265s 🤷🏽‍♂️ It’s a shame if it’s not on the 255 though.. one thing I’ll always praise Coros for is how good they are at porting new features (and sports sports) to ALL of their watches that have the hardware to handle it 🌟

      @@ActiveIdeas you sent me on a right tangent with the coros 😂 ended up having a look and eventually came back to the 255s decision. Saw that they'd added the soccer/football option on an update for the 255/255s. Still can't justify the extra spend for the 265s though!

      Thanks for the comment Arne!! That’s crazy to hear haha! Yeah I haven’t added any editing or colour grading for this video (I’ve been a lazy editor) so what you can see here is what I saw with my own eyes haha. I have to agree with you.. the 255s here looks AMAZING! Infact the screen looks better than the 955 and the Enduro. It’s a tough one because adding sapphire improves the screen durability but i had no issues with normal glass/plastic durability (which isn’t super reflective like sapphire) and then enjoyed adding a screen plastic protector & was happy to replace this every other year. The internet talk about the Forerunner 265 Music being OLED so I guess they’re planning on heading that way 🌟

      @@ActiveIdeas its baffeling to me that there can be such a difference in screen quality for the same model. Granted, I have the 255 music, not the 255s but still... My brother has the 955 non Solar and his colors are also better, the blacks are way darker then on my 255 wich is pretty greyish. I thouth it was because his model is more expensive but it seems there is kind of a lottery aspect to it...

    Great vid. Training readiness is not on the 255. Is that feature accurate ? What other stat guide can u use in its place, body battery perhaps?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’m pretty sure astronauts use HRV tracking as one of their many ways of monitoring health so If it’s good enough for them it’s definitely worth considering 😝 use the 255 to find your HRV baseline and if you deviate from this (an increase or decrease) you’ll know if you’re training too hard, too much or maybe not enough 👊🏽 But yes.. using HRV along with your RHR and graphs such as the body battery and stress all together will give you a reliable and accurate measure of your actual training readiness .. hope this helps mate

    Hii, thank you for the video.. I have 14.3cm wrist and consider to get 255s or 955, interested in 955 more because of the training readiness and map feature. But i doubt the size 955 will feel great on my wrist 🤔 any recommendation?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hey Ruth! Thanks for the comment 🌟Cor this is a tough one! In reality you’ll be more comfortable with the 255s on your wrist or the 265s (amoled screen version).. I wouldn’t recommend the 955 as the casing feels bulky.. you could definitely check out the 965 though (amoled screen version) as it has a slimmed down professional design, thin casing but still has maps, training readiness etc..
      Alternatively you could look at the Fenix 6s pro or the Fenix 7s pro which are super advanced, a little thick but nice small watch face which won’t stand out on 14.3cm 🤣 Hope this helps 👊🏽

    Hey, I am really between 255 vs 255s, 265 series is a too pricey for me, and i don't quite like amoled screen on watches.
    perhaps if you still have this watch, do you have the lug-to-lug measurements? I can only find for 255 that is 52mm.
    2nd q would be does the 1.1" display limit the data fields or its still have the same capabilities of the bigger 1.3"?
    Thanks!

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate! First off.. thanks for taking the time to leave such an in depth comment ❤️ Really appreciate your support for the channel 🔥
      In terms of sizing. I would say if your wrist size is bigger than 16cm definitely go for the 255. Alternatively, if your wrist size is smaller than 16cm, definitely go for the 255s. The benefit of having the 255s on my 16.5cm wrist is that I would truly forget I was wearing it. It felt more like a super advanced fitness tracker rather than a hefty sports watch. This come in great for example when I was tracking sleep, the comfort is next level.
      2nd question about screen sizes. Garmin don’t make thing like this easy.. not only will the size of the screen effect how many data fields you can have on one page. So will the watch model. So the truth is even as a reviewer… I have no idea how many data fields all these watches have. I’m 99% sure that both the 255 & 255s have a maximum limit of 6 data fields though 🔥
      Hope this helped enough to make a purchase decision 🌟

      @@ActiveIdeas appreciate the reply man!
      the sizing is really confusing with smartwatches, as I have few collection of normal watches as well. I have 18cm wrist, but most of my collection maxed out at 40-42mm, sadly there's no garmin store in my place and a bit hard looking online and guessing only.
      I had a xiaomi smartwatch before that is look okay (46.5 mm), fits okay, not overhang or similarly, but idk feels like I am having a plate on my wrist 😂

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @fikriilhamfadhillah4467 @fikriilhamfadhillah4467 that’s a massive wrist you’ve got there hahaha, I think the 255s would look absolutely tiny on your wrist; not that that matters but just something to be aware of.
      I’d say get the 255 if you want something that looks and feels like a watch. And with your 18cm wrists.. get the 255s if you want a “whoop band” fitness tracker feel to your watch 🙈
