So much love for black cats. They are just awesome. When I was little my family had a black cat, his name was Bossy Box. He loved to sit in the tissue box. He was 23 human years of age when he died. He was AWESOME!

I think there's something to be said for black cat's superior health - my own Tootsie was 19 when I put her down last month, and I've known 5 other all black cats that lived to be 20+.
I had a black siamese cat (“Ebony”). She lived to 22.

When I was a kid a black stray cat adopted our family one night. He stayed with us for many years sleeping on out back porch until he got pretty old. Finally he decided to move inside by using the pet door that had always been accessible from the back porch. By then his fir had largely faded to the rust brown color . He was a calm kindly cat who was always great to have around. I’ll never forget Henry for just being a great companion who was appreciative for the family he chose to grace with his presence. RIP Henry, you are not forgotten.

Our black cat chose us.. He was friends with our rescue cat blueberry. Blue got a brain tumor & passed away. 😭 Then this black cat Slept in our garden for months. He lived 8 doors away! Cats can't be caged so his owner was happy for us to take him if it made him & us happy. 🙌💞 She had 2 dogs, 2 cats. We Changed his name from 'Boris' to Hobo.. 🤣
He lived to 21. He was so spiritual, clever, affectionate, funny, loved everyone & had the loudest purr.. Taught him to sit & high 5 for dreamies. 😁

I have had a few black cats in my life. They are some of the best companions. The last one was Bellatrix. We called her Bella. She was the most empathic cat ever. She knew you were sick or under the weather before you did. She kept leading me to my daughter's room once and my daughter was sleeping. A little restless, but still asleep. When she woke up, she was complaining of a stomach ache that wouldn't go away and started hurting when she stood up straight or walked. Long story short, she was in the beginning stages of appendicitis. We took her to the hospital and I was right. It was her appendix. when we brought her home after the surgery, Bella didn't leave her side for the entire recovery. You'll never convince me that black cats are anything short of awesome!

For that last fact I CAN CONFIRM AT 1000%!!!! I had a black cat named Betty. And....It was my mom's cat that she got from my father as a gift. And when i was borned, Betty was like..14 - 15 years old. So obviously she was old for a cat. And...She was th sweetet cat i could ever had gotten. Evrytime i was sad she'd come alongside me and cuddle me. (Like cat does lol) And that would make me feel better afterwards! I'd always see her laying close to me wheni'd be waken up. And after some years have past, she unfortunatly d!ed. And me being a pet lover i obv just cried my life when i knew that she d!ed. (She died at 19 years old. Yep she was an old lady.) She was a true blessing from God and i wish she is happy to see all her other furry friends at Heaven.

Sorry that Betty is gone but very glad to see she was an old lady when she left. My furbaboes are 12 and I'm enjoying every minute possible with them knowing we all eventually gone, but cuz Betty had more years I am just gonna be thankful ours will too

I have three female black cats. They are all the sweetest, most adorable, loving kitties ever and they don’t have annoying sounding meows. They don’t scratch up the furniture or make a mess with litter. The only bad thing they do explore the neighborhood when they are outside and it scares me everyday, so I stress daily over losing any one of them. But they love to explore romp, and play outside and I have to take that risk for their quality of life.

Back from about 6 years ago when he lived in my grandmas house when she was still with us, he wasnt social, and eas pretty much an complete intorvert! Just like me! He didnt like Attention so we had to slowly start giving him attention to gain his trust over some years. When he was 16 years old he finally became social like he is now! I am really happy about how he improved, and now loves everyone who he meets!
He loves to be carried and held, he even just sometimes comes meowing at me to hold him, i just cant talk about how much i love him!
Quick update, little buddy has left to heaven a week ago from now in Thursday, he had some kidney problems and could barely see, I miss him but I'm relieved that he's now free from pain. Miss ya bud!

My sweet baby, Susu (after soot sprites), is unbelievably affectionate. The first thing she did when I brought her home at 10 weeks old, she made a cuddly batch of biscuits. She also knows her name and purrs as soon as she knows you’re paying attention to her. I’ve always loved black cats, but let me tell ya, I love her sooooo much!

My black cat used to be nice but he become angry in a random point of his life after the loss of his sister, he is chill now after getting old but is very grumpy.

A black kitten just randomly walked into our lives a couple weeks ago. She might be 6-8 months old, and instead of just straight up black, she’s got some gray and rusty undertones, with symmetrical gray patches behind her ears. She’s legit the coolest cat I’ve ever met and it’s super obvious she loves her new home. She’s a total purring machine. She loves being pet anywhere - none of that don’t touch my tummy stuff. She used the litter box day one, so no mess around the house. She’s even totally tolerant of our 9yr old autistic kiddo, who can be a total animal. She’s just been the best little friend ever, and I really do feel like she came along and found us for a reason. I’ve been watching cat videos on TH-cam and especially black cat videos, and I’m finding it real easy to believe to the overall testimony. They’re super chill, affectionate, smart, and just make a fantastic friend.

I'm so happy whenever I see these facts getting spread along with the love for these babies. I took in mine years ago when she was only a few months old. She was being bullied by the mostly superstitious community and even had animal control called. I'll never forget hearing these women say that this small thing, who was completely innocent and lovable, that she and her brother needed to be put down 😢 As soon as I heard that, I had to put my plans into action much quicker. I had a home planned for her brother and he got the loving home he deserved, and I kept her because let's face it.. she adopted me 😅 I'll never forget thinking how awful those women were, and how hypocritical they were about putting down a black cat for being different. Shame on them and I pray they learned to be better open-minded and open-hearted people over the last 4 years.

I have a black cat I adopted from a shelter 7 years ago and he's the sweetest most outgoing cat I've ever had. He loves people, he always wants to greet anybody who comes over and just chill in the same room with people most of the day. He's clever and patient, he's great with other cats and with dogs. He loves kids even though I don't have any right now the ones he's met he's super sweet with. I couldn't ask for a better pet.
I have mental health issues and he always seems to know when to come check on me or just let me hold him for a while when I need it.
And even as sweet and outgoing as he is, he sat at the shelter for a long time before I met him. I don't really get it. Black cats are beautiful, plus every cat's personality and disposition is different especially when you're dealing with rescue animals.
