My family redid the roof a few years back. The first guy they hired was there maybe four hours, rolled out a couple sheets of plastic on the roof, then drove around the corner for a nap. We know this because my neighbor took pictures. Called his company to complain, they sent out a new crew of like three guys who got the whole thing done in a few hours. Those guys were really nice too. Pretty sure the first guy got reprimanded.
The whole "3 month project, takes about 9 months" comment is a perfect representation of my friends building, started working on the vestibule, they've barricaded it, then didn't start working on it for another 5-6 months.
I do flooring and I can say that the one week project we started is about to enter it's 3rd week it isn't false but on the other side of the coin sometimes we run into problems
I think it's not just work like Gus had on his house - any time you pay someone to do something, but they have to tailor the results to the requests of the one who paid them, at least one person will be less than cheerful at the end of it.
We were renovating our master bathroom years ago and the plumbing guy started arguing loudly with the tiling guy. I was home alone and said 'fuck this noise' and called the cops to break it up and kick them out.
3 month program, I do this for a living and I get done any roof or anything in that area in a week at the most (referring to the walk in closet I made having to take out a pool pump and moving lights/switches etc)
I love that Gus says a sadist would enjoy the pain of working with a contractor, but it’s actually the wrong term. A sadist enjoys inflicting pain on others, the term he’s looking for is masochist, they’re the ones who like to receive pain.
I live near Dallas and I had a contractor for dry wall and they finished the dry wall in 2 days and I was satisfied so contractors for me aren't that bad
I bought a house that was ild and we had to put in new tile and then we hired a guy and he said it was $900 then I hired another guy and then he said it was $100 I was so close to spending $800 more
The only people that enjoy dealing with contractors are the people with fuck you money because they don’t give a shit they’ll change the contract 40 bloody times and in the end what what was in the original contract -_- I hate people with fuck you money

The only time I notice that RT has put up a new RTAA is when I see Hembo's video pop up, mostly because it comes out about 5 seconds after.
