Buy particular favorite lure for early springtime fishing is a Gibbs metal lip Danny pattern mostly with the wire bent down and have it just working the surface by an inch or two under the surface of the water and I remove the tailhook off every time and put a flag and mostly I worked that on the inlets I'm not going to say which spots but on the on Long island on the South shore particularly on a sweepingand how I fish it is barely cranking my real handle and just having it just pretty much staying in one spot kicking left and right left and right in a sweeping current pretty much fishing it from 5:00 and let it drift past 12:00 to 9:00 I'm at and if the current is sweeping the other way be vice versa you get it
thanks for all the tips man. i got into fishing after watching your videos. Its will be my first year trying the surf. just ordered the sp minnow too. Hopefully i will get my first striper this season. Cant wait!!
That’s awesome!! You’ll catch fish for sure! Especially if you follow along with all the videos once they come in, Ill be sure to show some techniques in every video🙌🏼
Because of you and Erica smashing big bass on Mag Darters especially Erica with that giant on a yellow one I now own a "4700" size box full of them in Blurple, Yellow and Bone!! I caught my 2 PB on the blurple 5 inch and yes I changed the hardware...😂😂🎣
Let me ask: on swimmers like SPs etc, do swap out belly trebles too for singles? I immediately swap out the tail hooks to singles because they do the damage to the fish when it’s hooked on the belly treble. And I’ve have them swallow SP tail first occasionally and pulling out a single is much easier than a treble. And ALWAYS crush my barbs. Definitely already saved me a trip to the ER this season. But I worry that switching out the belly treble will cost me hookups. Sure would love to though as it simplify lots of things. Thoughts?
No, but I plan on it this year! Definitely try some metal lips! I know they work really good there in April and May when the bunker hunker down in the bay!
@@GetReelBassFishing I'll be trying Raritan the second week of April again last year was hot 90° hooked a 37" and a few skoolies I also hit jersey the last week of October just for the in shore blitz it's a six hour drive for me so the more Info I can get the better off I'll be thanks
I have. Usually the 3.8” with a 1/4-1/2oz head 🙌🏼 white or pro shad or some sort of shad color. The Perch Juice color works really well too for when Killies or other darker color bait are around.
Hangover will probably be sold out for a while. There weren’t many made. I’ve got a couple I wanna use before the bluefish come in, because they’re mad expensive to throw at a bluefish 😂😂
what is the weight of thoes lures (sp minnows, yo-zuri)? I find that they are to light to cast and need to add weight in them. using a 8 foot insane surf with 20lb braid.i may be doing something wrong.thanks for the content
It’s definitely a lot easier to get distance with a longer rod. The SPs and Mag darter are pretty easy to cast far. I like the 5” mag and 6” sp. the mag darters are actually weighted to cast farther. What size reel?
if anyone actually sees this and recognized me don't be afraid to say hello I'm always the guy with a plug bag with rosary beads hanging off of it and a waterproof speaker blaring musicit's a small world it's even smaller on Long island and specially when you're a surffisherman you don't know how many times I can't leave run into surf fisherman from Long island on TH-cam bear with me speech to text is not working completely and I'm slightly drunk😂
They’ll be up on the website later this week. They’re currently out of stock. But they’re the “1.5oz white and red minnow head” Bucktail. Keep posted throughout the week on the website!
he is right about changing the hooks, stripers are alot stronger than people think, they bust knots and straighten hooks easily.

Dude. Almost cried at the closing song. Brought back a plethora of awesome memories.. Much love my brother. Let’s catch ‘em up.
Right?? I heard it in an old video, and was like, I’m bringing that back!
The shake and bake method... never fails 3am on the beach !! Tight lines for all this spring

I am learning so much from your videos.
Love the vids always, day one homie !
Thank you man!
Good selection
Great video which one Meg darter are you using floating or singking please and thank you
I would encourage to swap hooks to singles Much easier to unhook the fish specially in the dark Save your fingers!
That is true as well!

See you out there! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Very helpful video, sir. Thanks for sharing all this info. New subscriber to your Chanel.
Thanks for another informative video catchem’ up!
Thanks for watching!
What size treble hooks
I upgraded the Blurple lure with a sharpee permanent marker glow in the dark green color. It increase catch rate by X2.
Great video and I fully agree with your top 3 choices, the only 0ne that is hard to get locally is the Joe Baggs Swarter but you can get it on line.
Awesome man. Yeah, those Swarters are great, and even here, they sell out quick! Where are you?
I live in southern New Hampshire, close to the Merrimack river at plum Island and the only place to get swarters is on line.
Your recommendation are on the money.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
What situations would you throw a minnow vs a darter?
Awesome I’m going to try them all in RI 🤘
Awesome. Please let me know how you do! I’d really love to know.
I fish by the Atlantic beach bridge a lot and it’s hard for me to catch striped bass there do u have any tips or lures that I could try thanks❤
Great video
Thank you!
Thank You!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks very informative
Thank you! Hopefully you catch a ton this year!
should swap them hooks on those minnow plugs for some bkk's
Take advantage on the 3 months of parental leave! I used it both times for both kids and fished my ass off and got paid at the same time lol.
Thanks man! I’ll for sure look into it!!

Have you ever surf cast the Raritan early spring early april what would be your go to or if you were beach fishing sandy hook

🙌🏼🙌🏼 it’s a 2-3 hour for me! Lol. Maybe I’ll see you out there! Good luck!
If you recommend changing hooks, recommend the single hooks not the tri hooks. Fish are so difficult to pull off of tri hooks
What size mustad hook are you using 1/0, or 2/0?
1/0
Try skyline jigs. They are awesome. Almost identical to nlbn
I’ll check them out
I’ll check them out
Have you used the divine swimbait in both freshwater and saltwater?
I have. Usually the 3.8” with a 1/4-1/2oz head 🙌🏼 white or pro shad or some sort of shad color. The Perch Juice color works really well too for when Killies or other darker color bait are around.
@@GetReelBassFishing ok was checking them and the hangover swimbait out but the hangover is sold-out now

Sp minnow bullet for when you gotta go the distance. Set up sounds good for minnow plugs imo
penn slammer iv 5500.@@GetReelBassFishing
6inch sinking models are 1 1/4oz. Casts further than any swimbait/weighted jighead I've tried.
White Bucktails tipped with jig strips!!!
Shhhhh🤫🤫 not yet
@@GetReelBassFishing what do you mean?
That’s an upcoming video 🙌🏼😂
@@GetReelBassFishing got it… I will be standing by!

Clear worms are probably glass eels
Hooks are sold out 😢
I just added a new link to the description, it doesn’t look like they’re sold out there. 1/0
Oh its the 1/0 i thought u said 5/0
I want to order the bucktail that you caught the 50 with from your site, what size was it?
They’ll be up on the website later this week. They’re currently out of stock. But they’re the “1.5oz white and red minnow head” Bucktail. Keep posted throughout the week on the website!
@@GetReelBassFishing thanks 👍
Slow because the early spring bass r lethargic
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
fish bites every thing
That would definitely make life easier lol
Maybe the bait fish are feeding on booger worms
Haha. Maybe
