For $1000 there are dozens of options out there. Don't get me wrong, Magpul makes some fantastic products. But if I had a choice between this stock and another option for the same price; sorry Magpul, my money goes elsewhere.
I'll keep my RPR .308 for $1200 and used the savings for my Vortex FFP PST II 5-25X50. Ruger sold their Precision Rifle stock for this price and threw in the rest of the gun for free LOL:). It came with a 10 round Magpul magazine instead of the AI BUT takes most other designs too (including AI)...interchangeable. So this Magpul version of the Remington doesn't even take Magpul mags? If I already had a 700 I might have pulled the trigger on this though...utility and appearance is a 10.
Short action versus long action, same features but based on the length of your rifle action. Long action rifles are generally magnum calibers, longer length ammunition.

Why do they not offer this with SR25/AR-10 patterned magazines?! Magpul makes those magazines as well. For logistical reasons I only want one .308 magazine type (just like I only have one for .223).
Bolt guns don’t have lugs and feed ramps the same as an ar10/sr25. The feed lips don’t line the rounds up to get optimal feeding in a bolt action. There can also be an issue of length for other calibers. It’s been tried but not really successfully. I would love one mag type too but sometimes performance requires specific stuff
They have a different bolt design that allows them to use ar mags. I’ve heard mixed reviews. At this point I’ll stick to proven shooters and AI mags. Cool idea for sure though

Tho in the winter if you aint got no gloves on and that gun was in the cold for an hour any where from freezing to super cold like negative 30 your hands wont like it
So for $1000. I can get Master Piece Arms chassis for less. And imo, the MPA looks at least 10 times better and more color selection. IMO, they should’ve listed this around $500 to $600. I run a AICS chassis on my 700 and that was $1000, which is way better than the Magpul. Even the Hunter 700 is not as good as other manufacturers. Kinetic Research Group makes a Bravo chassis that is better. For the same price with the trigger guard and removable magazine, KRG has adjustable comb height built in. You have Magpul bipod in the video also. They wobble a bit compare to other brands. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Magpul hater. I have a lot of Magpul products including 2 PRS stocks on my other rifles.
The bipod is definitely not the nicest but for $100 it’s not bad. Jury is still out on that. As far as the comparison to other products there will always be pros and cons. The magpul chassis can be found easily for under $800 and you still gain more adjustability and a folding stock versus the masterpiece. Don’t get me wrong the masterpiece as well as the accuracy international are both very nice products as well. Ultimately at the end of the day you have to decide which is the best for you. AI stuff is also very nice
The bravo is also a very nice product, I own one of those stocks as well and I would agree it is nicer than the hunter but for almost double the price it should be. Hunters can be found regularly for under $200 as well
I’ve owned 2 of these Magpul Pro 700 stocks/chassis systems. Both times, clients have offered to buy them off my hands. They could not be happier. One of them is a lefty, too. Both of them are .308 SA shooters. Like I mentioned, one RH and one LH. I happen to really appreciate the sliding pistol grip and the choices of grip angles that can be swapped. Life is good. You could and I own both an X-ray and a bravo. They are nice for sure but the magpul offers more than the KRGs. Plus I’ve seen the magpul for 750-800 on sale

I dont know how people can even complain about Magpul magazines to be honest, they're flawless. They even work better than AICS steel mags. I had to widen the lips of my AICS mags for it to feed in my Howa Bravo. The Magpul was smooth as butter and doesnt scratch up the brass.

Loose the fancy box Figure out how to loose about 30 screws, and cut the price in 1/2 and sell the crap out of them, or... Give a fancy box, and lots of screws to make crap look more important. Not even include a front sling swivel, and let the name sell it. My guess is when you do get the front swivel...THEN you have to order the correct screws, because they sell you ones that are to long the 1st time you buy it.... If magpul chocked on their own "Greed" tomorrow, I basically wouldnt give 2 turds. They're not Gods gift to the world. They just think they are.

Compare it to other high end chassis and it’s prices pretty competitively. I just picked up a MPA matrix which was even more money. Good stuff isn’t cheap

Nearly every high end custom action uses a 700 footprint, so how is that a major fail? Also I think this actually competes really well with the chassis on the market. I think it’s more comfortable and has veered adjustment.
