    I'd been waiting years for Magpul to do a suppressor cover and, like most things they do, they've redefined performance in the category... again.

    Almost every comment on the 700 Pro from Magpul is negative. It’s not plastic crap. It’s a complete aluminum chassis with polymer skins. Lots of engineering in this stock. MSRP is alway high. This is Street priced about right for all of the features in my opinion. Nice to have all the other options in the market.

    See ... this is a f*ckin company that listens. That sh*t with the mag nose feeding issues on breach situations or stabilization is f'n spot on. To bad Remington doesn't have this level of customer feedback -> rifle enhancement loops. Either way .. Magpul is all grown up for this reason.

    100% total disagreement on the price point MAGPUL. Worth $500? Maybe even $600? But, a fucking Grand is laughable. 😂 Fulfilling military orders first??? As in US Military? O-KAY... So, the military has already done its grueling trials and assigned an NSN to this chassis system? Magpul if you are listening, please post that NSN on your website for this fine piece of military grade hardware. An NSN would definitely defend the price point a bit and speak for it's worth.
    I of course have never seen nor used one of these. I cannot speculate on its quality, durability etc. Maybe it's the BEES KNEES! Magpul you make some awesome gear, many which ARE used by the Military. But, filling military orders?
    Humm... Okie dokie. For a thousand hard-earned dollars I can buy an Accuracy International or McMillan chassis. If you'd like to send one out for T&E by all means please do. I will take it to combat arms and we will be more than happy to mount an M24, M40 or MK13 barreled action into that bad boy and give you are honest unbiased opinion. Please contact me for my DOT MIL for further...
    BTW, did I miss the part where you said it's variants fit REM700s short actions, long actions and .338 Lapua actions?

    For $1k I'll stick with my magpul hunter. It's super comfortable and it made the gun more accurate. 1000 bux is really steep for that stock. There's a lot of better options out there for that price. Then I have to buy the top rail for night vision separately for another 300? Magpul makes some great stuff but I think they overshot the price point on this one by about 2x.

    Magpul rarely misses, but they overshot the price point on this stock by 50%. This is a $500 stock, tops. Laughable at $1,000.

    • @grin64
      @grin64 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      J Burnette whole hearted agree. Way more better options out there. In my opinion anyhow.

    • @dhena81
      @dhena81 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I didn't know there is a bunch of quality folding aluminum chassis floating around for around $500 or even $800. $1000 MSRP doesn't sound bad at all street price will be lower.
      Hell I can't think of many fiberglass stocks with all those features that don't cost about 1k. Configure a folding manners with the mini chassis and it will be +/- 1k.

    • @HuskyKMA
      @HuskyKMA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Show me where you can get a chassis with these features for half of what Magpul is asking.

    • @grin64
      @grin64 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      HuskyKMA for starts the name. Not many ppl going to plunk down 1k for anything Magpul unless it's a case of mags. Lol
      kineticresearchgroup.com/product/whiskey-3-chassis/
      www.jmstactical.com/product/remington-700-chassis/
      And my favorite
      www.accuracyinternational.us/aics-chassis-systems/
      All for under a grand. Wait a year and the Magpul will be a bargain.

    • @HuskyKMA
      @HuskyKMA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Okay, first of all none of those are half of $1000. One is $1300, one is $1000, and one is $1200. Second, the Magpul chassis isn't going to sell for $1000, that's MSRP. Most Magpul stuff sells for under MSRP. Street price will probably be closer to $900. Third, I think you fail to realize that a lot of people who have never heard of Accuracy International or Kinetic Research Group are going to plunk down their cash for a Magpul chassis *BECAUSE* it's Magpul.

    For that price plus 300 you get a Ruger Precision Rifle .... It seems with a lot of good features, however not as rugged and bullet prove as an AICS.

    • @GunsandTactics
      @GunsandTactics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      An AICS also costs more so there is that to consider. Ruggedness will be tested once these hit the street.

  • @ES44AC-2

    When are they going to support something besides the R 700....

    • @GunsandTactics
      @GunsandTactics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 700 is by far the largest platform in bolt guns. Not just Remington but the vast majority of custom actions use the 700 pattern for stocks and triggers.

    • @loyal2no146
      @loyal2no146 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a Tikka guy as they are far better rifles than R700's out of the box but after seeing this chassis I've pre-ordered one and are in the process of converting to a R700 action by Stiller and (hopefully) a barrel by Krieger. This chassis will be the new benchmark in precision platforms.

    • @GunsandTactics
      @GunsandTactics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a little tongue in cheek as I would bet the majority of form 1 cans are freeze plugs and mag light kits etc. I know there are some truly nice ones as well like yours sounds like to be. -Dave

  • @SuperSneakySniper
    @SuperSneakySniper 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm.... Unfortunately for Magpul, I think the MPA Hybrid Chassis is the best chassis introduced this year, more features, more well-known track record for making quality chassis, less cost. But if Magpul pulls the cost down to like.... $700ish, I can see this selling.
    Biggest competition would be the KRG Whiskey 3 and X-Ray, both of which have ARCA rail compatibility, NV rail compatibility, enclosed forend options, spigot mounts, their own line of rail accessories made specifically for long-range competition etc...
    Sooo Magpul better add some stuff or change somethin' here! This chassis is starting from behind compared to MPA and KRG, makes me think it was simply a "me too!" addition to their line rather than anything innovative.

    no compass in the stock!?!?!?! WTF?

  • @king0dasouf
    @king0dasouf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 1k plus cost of rifle and glass. Magpul your asking people to spend $2500 on a still not so great Remington. Add trigger work, bedding, and some bolt lapping and your way into the 3k mark. That is surgeon rifle and a lot of other greats territory. What were you thinking?!?!

    • @GunsandTactics
      @GunsandTactics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not just for Remington, most of the high end custom actions use 700 pattern external dimensions and would fit this chassis. The 700 pattern has pretty much become the industry standard for stocks, triggers etc. For example, the Surgeon action you mentioned is a 700 pattern and would actually fir this chassis. It is the inside of the custom actions, lug etc that are improved. -Dave

    • @king0dasouf
      @king0dasouf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      GUNS & TACTICS
      I understand how ubiquitous the 700 action is. Most people can’t afford the price tag of a Surgeon rifle so we just get a Remington. Everyone that makes a chassis system wants to put $1000 price tags on them. As a machinist I know modern manufacturing and overseas prices put each unit at less than $200 to produce. So why in God’s name must there be such a huge hike in price. At $600 Magpul would corner a giant portion of the market! In the process make systems like this accessible to millions of average Joe’s like my self. I think a lot of us in the comment section feel left out. If I had the capital, I’d make a run at it!!!

  • @dr.robpublican5803
    @dr.robpublican5803 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agreed.. Looks like a nice stock but they’re pricing themselves out of the market if they hold firm on that price tag. I’d rather spend that same $ on a proven AI chassis

  • @MrCrumb34
    @MrCrumb34 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why is Magpul so overrated? Is it because the p-mag is good? I've never seen anything else from them that doesn't look and feel like junk for more money than competitors.

    • @rediius
      @rediius 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrCrumb34 Well, they're named for the magazine base plates that made them famous. Back in the day if you wanted that functionality you'd have to tape some cord to the bottom of your magazine and hope that it didn't come off. And this suppressor cover with a frame is the first of its kind that I've ever seen and probably helps with suppressor cooling. All of their products help shooters at the extreme end of one problem or another, which means casual shooters usually won't notice a difference in performance. For those folks, yeah, you won't be needing a custom chassis for your Remington 700. This frame is in the same ballpark as some of the aluminum chassis for the Springfield M1A, for example, so I don't think it's overpriced at all considering what you get.

      @GunsandTactics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not just for Remington receivers, most of the high end custom actions use a 700 pattern as the 700 is by far the most popular platform for parts and products like stocks, triggers etc. This will fit 700 pattern receivers which there is no shortage of very high quality receivers out there. -Dave
