Love your videos, this one especially. We're living in Willcox-again, in my parents' home here. My grandparents came here in 1955, so, I have a stake here. If you come back this way, it would be cool to meet you in the park. Hubby does alot of metal detecting here. There's lots more to see here. Dos Cabazes, Chiricahua National Monument, Cochise Stonghold, Apache Pass, Johnny Ringos gravesite. Be sure to stop in at the old Museum, hopefully, you'll catch Keith Klump there, his wife, Kathy has wrote many books about Willcox and is at the Historical Society Research Center across the street Wednesdsy and Thursday. We have become quite the wine mecca of the desert and, have many vineyards and tasting rooms, including 2 awesome wine festivals at Railroad Park...3rd weekend of May and 3rd weekend of October. Rex Allen Days is 1st weekend in October. Many other wonderful events all year long. We also are a winter spot for Sandhill Cranes, with as many as 40,000 cranes overwintering in the area. You can see them up close and personal at Cochise Lake, just past the Golf Course. We have the Wings over Willcox event mid-January. The 'dunes' you were seeing is The Playa, or Dry Lake we call it. Its an old military bombing range. Believe it or not, Willcox has as much, if not more, history than Tombstone. Safe travels!
Hi Sherry, Wow!! So much good information here. I was told about the wineries, but just didn't have the time to go see them. I will definitely be going out that way again to dedicate more time to these cool little towns. I also heard there was a formula racetrack out there but closed to public. Thanks again for sharing all the info and have a great week!
This brought back many memories for me, back in the late 70s a good friend moved to Ventura CA. I was working drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, 14 days on 14 off, so I would head out from the New Orleans area to Ventura and back regularly.. That's what began my love of the desert... Thanks for the memories Randy, looking forward to the rest of the trip to Padre' Island
There are wineries there. Also Tanya Tucker was from there. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a train go by you yet. The caboose is a BBQ place. It’s pretty good.
HI D, I was told about the wineries but It was a little late in the afternoon, so I didn't have time to check them out and see the town. Thanks for sharing and Have a good week!
Neat tour of Wilcox, really cool. Really hadn't noticed you over using those words. Sorry you gave blood for this video but it was great to see the camera still works. Like your other videos, I enjoyed this. And glad to say we do not have ant hills like that around here. See ya later.
I never noticed you said cool and neat too much. Probably because what you are showing is cool or neat. Thanks for sharing all these towns in AZ. I live in Bullhead City, been here 13 years.
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the kind words, It's fun getting out and seeing history like I have and being able to share them. Living by the Colorado must be nice when it heats up. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Hi Wisdominthewoods, Thanks for the kind words. I don't have as many as I would like. Some of my first videos are about the Tonto Natural bridge and CC Craigen Reservoir. I'll attach the links below. I have a few others from the Mount Baldy area in Arizona. Hope that helps. Have a great week! th-cam.com/video/oCFrRJ0uZxM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/f-S05iGt9XY/w-d-xo.html
That’s Texas Canyon at the rest stop! Lived in the SW Az area most of my life, and still stop here on my way to and fro. Check out the Triangle T, a historic ranch just a skip down the road, with really nice accommodations PLUS a really cool bar and grill on-site. I’ve stayed here before, it’s totally worth it! It’s just beautiful, almost like a western movie set. And great walking among the boulders (great for scenic photography, too 😊).
Hi DaveandShelly, I am no longer in the Seabees, I got out just after Desert Storm. It was a great time in my life and miss it sometimes. Be sure to thank your future son in law for his service. Thank you for the kind words and have a great week!

It would have been funny if they painted 10:04 on the click tower. That is the clock tower time in Back to the Future.
