That was exquisite Kamau. Clearly, the owner of the house has an eye for detail and artefacts. Representing Kenya away from Kenya. Your love for Kenya is unparalleled! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I went to Kenya for the first time in July. It was for work. I got to go to Kenya for work! Best job I've ever had! It was amazing! I fell in love the people ❤. I was expecting to like it. But, I actually LOVE it! I can't wait to go back!
Chukua mji!! And you win the Cup. You have a veritable museum. That's as much a tourist attractor as any. Keep up the Kazi mzuri. . Asante sana Mzee 👍🙏 from an appreciative FELLOW Kenyan🇰🇪
hahaha, asante sana 😊. They are busy NY realtors and kind hearted philanthropists so they are not in Kenya for as long as I am. But you name it they can give you some pointers 😊
Great bowl but I didn't travel as well as I had hoped because the airline were too rough with it and it now has a small crack. They might seek to get it repaired or just consider it character 😊
You are correct to mention both Kenyan and African art since art from different parts of Africa is sold in Kenya. The brown coloured cloth for example, is inspired by West African mud cloth which has its origin in Mali (Google images to see other designs). Some of the masks, especially the fringed masks, are also Central and/or West African. Next time you are in Nairobi, make some time to visit the Kenya National Archives and the Nairobi Gallery. They display art work from different parts of Africa including lots of masks. The artifacts in these two buildings were part of the Joseph Murumbi Africana collection. He was vice-president of Kenya for a very brief period in 1966. His art collection is a magnificent gift to the country and the continent. Viewing it will really go a long way towards enriching your knowledge of African art and it is just fun to see.
Absolutely. It is my understanding that masks were made in the Congo. One of my favorite art shops in Diani are heavy importers of art from all parts of East Africa.
So good to see the Kenyan artifacts in that beautiful American home looking forward to more vlogs which I always enjoy plus you are such a good narrator

Glad that you see that my affection is real. Having the artwork in the US bridges the gap between cultures for me.
