I love these New York rides which is where I live...
Gorgeous! Fall in Colorado is breathtaking as well. These lot sizes are incredible. My neighborhood has huge homes also (mansions) but the lots are MUCH smaller. These are impressive.
I found it odd too how there were no gate, fences around the houses especially the back. I hope they do not let their dogs out in the backyard or front . It can be an accident waiting to happen. The dogs can run off n attack unprovoked cos they not used to seeing others (dogs can be unpredictable )if let out in the backyard if someone is just exercising and taking a walk or jogging around in the neighborhood
There should be mixed-use housing like appartment buildings to alleviate housing problem in the big Apple. Zoning laws make uneven distribution of people.
@1% Evan Ł this is what I meant. You guys are stuck up with backward mentality of past. See how modern Dubai and Asian cities are. American cities are neglected. Space is not luxury. But i cant find my favourite starbucks or some sushi restaurant in sight if i live in tis neighbourhood. i must drive alot damn.. guess no country is perfect...urgh i am hungry!
Thank you. You are absolutely right. No country is perfect. The convenience of all the food markets and restaurants in Singapore. Oh, I miss it. I have lived in Singapore for a few months before. Here most people drive to do things to go places. No car no life. There are Starbucks and Sushi restaurant within short driving distances.
Advantages of these suburbs: -Green: lots of trees -Lots of personal space: both inside and outside of the house -Peace and quiet Disadvantages of these surburbs: -Car-dependency: kids, disabled and elderly are more dependent on others in their daily lives -Total lack of sidewalks/pathways: great place to walk with enough space, but not as convenient without a pathway -No facilities close by: stores, doctors and work are far away -Relating to two of the other disadvantages: fuel/gas and car maintenance costs are high -Relating to the above: it's likely environmentally unfriendly (heating large individual houses + fuel/gas emission)
It is a very nice easy going suburb with alot of peace and quiet, and is more so that way than it is in suburbs like New Rochelle, Eastchester, or suburbs on Long Island, since those places are closer to NYC and have alot of commuters who regularly go there and back, it creates more big city atmosphere. I mean, they're still good suburbs to live in for daily commuters who want a house and don't want to live directly within the bustle of Manhattan yet work there. But there's not as much the more laid back provincial feel of towns or suburbs further away from the city, such as here in this video
There is no need for public lighting because people do not walk these streets, there are no sidewalks, each house is an isolated island. Very nice, but not the kind of neighborhood I would want to live in.
lmao wait till you see the Catskills in the fall, I have a house up in Saugerties/Woodstock and it's like you're in the middle of a Picasso painting lol.
What amazes me is that none of the properties are fenced! In South Africa you would be driving down a lane with thick foliage on either side (in the wealthy neighbourhoods). In the less wealthy neighbourhoods you would be driving down a street with high vibracrete walls on either side. You might think this is for security, but actually not: once the criminals are over the wall and on your property they can carry on at their leisure unobserved form the street/neighbours or even a passing patrol car. My house is the only one on my street that is not behind vibracrete. So people stop and stare (it is a pretty like a doll-house). I have lots of security (ornamental wrought-iron fence topped with alarmed electric fence), but you can still see my house and right into my house, because I leave the front door open so that I have indoor-outdoor living with my pets, more light, more space and I feel aware of and part of what is happening in the street, rather than cut off form life. Thanks for sharing this video - and thanks to the people who own those houses for being willing to share it with us and allowing us to enjoy it as well, rather than shutting out the plebs.
