IDEASeries: FAPE+Evaluation

The right to FAPE is an educational entitlement of all students in the United States and its territories, guaranteed by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Participants will learn what FAPE means for their child if they qualifiy for special education and related services.
Before receiving special education services, it's required that your child have an appropriate evaluation. This presentation will provide detailed information on how to request an evaluation, the policies regarding parental consent before their child can be evaluated and the relevant questions parents or youth may want to ask.
