I think Firefox still supports Windows XP which is generally better to use if you're running an out dated Operating System people are mind controlled into persuading people out of not using an older Windows I am currently using Windows 10 which is a currently dying Operating System. I don't have any intentions of running or using Windows 11 because of it being injected with ads on the Start Menu and Windows Recall about to be released. If you run a security software you should be just as fine without security updates people also have Windows Defender and software like AVG, Malwarebyte, etc to rely on helping you which I think should help with security updates as an option to extend support. What needs to be done is go back to the old days relying on security software which people aren't benefiting from and think they can rely on Microsoft for security patches TBH I think they don't really do shit.
I'm rocking a Dimension C521 with upgraded specs (only keeping the motherboard and PSU intact) and it works. dual core Athlon 5600+ 4Gig's of RAM due to XP's being 32-bit. GT 730. Works nicely. SSD cause why not.
Just so you know, there is a 64-bit version of XP you can get your hands on if you're wanting that extra bit of ram and improved compatibility. Otherwise, great build! I'd love to have me something like that at some point
Firefox browsers work including Waterfox if you want to look into this which are a lot safer than Chrome browsers imo Firefox is still more secure than Chrome also glad to see someone who refuses to give up on Windows XP there's still good game titles that will only work on Windows XP.
@@charginginprogresss Which means Windows 10 will be more secure than Linux even after End of Life this is total irony people are getting scared of End of Life even though Windows 10 is still very modern for an aging Windows desktop and easier to install I was tempting to dual boot Windows 7 with Windows 10 but I might just stay on Windows 10 I tried Linux and is not as good as people claim it is and the only one that reminds me of Windows is Linux Mint which my WiFi keeps dropping on pretty bad.
@@TheiTunesFanboy If your computer is getting viruses then you need to review your security policies and network security. A properly secured network will not allow malicious code to reach the ethernet adapter, period. Anti virus is spyware itself!
It's not Supremium. Just look at the screen. Please. Also, XP64 is Server 2003 with a rebrand and removal of its identity as a server OS which made some apps refuse to install. I know this from attempting to use Server 2003 as a desktop OS back then. It came out a few years after XP's original 32 bit version, so not 23 years ago..
apperantly my previous comment was deleted, but to sum it up, you should seriously boot up Linux and see how that hardware would run on something like that...
I tried Linux and went back to Windows the theming sucks and it lacks support in different software you are basically restricting yourself Windows will still have better support than Linux even after End of Life and yes XFCE sucks dude the closest you can relate to Windows XP in 2024 is Linux Mint Cinnamon and you can only play Steam games and emulators not run virtual reality.
@@TechnoMinded-qp5in Linux is a maodern OS and supports the latest version of software and games on basically any PC. The only software that isnt compatible are certain multiplayer games and "work" software like Adobe's collection of shit and FL studio. Software support on Linux is way better than windows XP and its actually secure. Besides "the theming sucks" you can litereally just install a diferent DE with diferent themings, if you ever tried KDE, you would see how much better it is to windows. Linux is also much easier to use, faster, secure and private. In pratical terms makes no sence to be using windows XP of you dont want to use modern windows
Do windows 11 next.
7:40 Avast still releases antivirus definitions for XP in its XP version
Cool

supermium is good too if u want a browser
Firefox gave it a false positive for malware last night. 🙂
6:25 To be fair, even Windows 11 lacks proper protection from viruses.
xp is sick
False, Windows Defender is good enough if you are software literate.
@@charginginprogresss No, it does not; for Windows still receives tons of viruses even with Defender.

Better install service pack 3 to and run windows update(using the old windows update hack)

thats not the point.
also xfce sucks
Not the point of the video but yeah that's what I always think when I see these types of videos.

That is an out dated argument and Arch Linux lacks virtual reality support good luck with that rant this is about Windows XP not Arch Linux.
