25:35. Good Christ that's a well-written song, love the insight. GREAT question John Mayer and now go listen to "And So it Goes" right now. "But you can make decisions too and you can have this heart to break". What a lyric.
I bought the River of Dreams album my freshman year of highschool when it was brand new and fell in love with Billy Joel's music. Not long after, I came across a cassette tape of Storm Front at a garage sale or thrift store or possibly the bargain bin at Hastings. I remember hearing So It Goes and weeping, it moved me so deeply. And also Billy's recording of Shameless (infinitely more heartfelt than Garth's version), I listened over, and over, and over, back to back. I couldn't wait to be loved like that someday.
River of Dreams is by far Billy Joel's worst album. And Storm Front is the second worst. The great Billy is the 7 albums he released between 1976 and 1982.
@@willritter4076 Dude, the point I was trying to make is that your opinion is by definition subjective. You say Storm Front and ROD are his worst albums as if it's a fact. It's not a fact. Your opinion is totally valid but the nice lady who loves those albums isn't wrong. Cmon, man. And So It Goes made her cry, you know Billy would appreciate that.
I cannot write or say words that describe how thankful I am that I listened to this. John Mayer, your sir, did an incredible job exercising humility while using your echelon status to extract such incredible info out of Mr. Joel. Best thing I’ve heard in a very, very long time. Thank you!
I love Billy Joel's songs as well as his vocal. Many of his songs are deep in feelings and really inspiring. Perhaps, it's all about soul. Love from Thailand.
At 42 I'm just starting to seriously try and song write and I'm really getting somewhere I'm not saying I'm anywhere in the caliber of these guys I definitely had a few relatable eyebrows raises..... I to when I get a lyric or a sign name idea to build on... Boom straight on the phone note pad. Thanks guys 🎉
hey John, this conversation was really fun to listen to. Having you two talking to one another. So good. All the moves made sense to me. I enjoyed following along, Thanks
This is a wonderful interview - as a musician, I really appreciated your questions. The only thing I have to say: please give your guests more space to respond! It’s nice that there’s friendly convo between you, and your feedback is great, but,John, please lay back a bit lol….
Yeah but before Turn the Lights Back On, the last time anything original from Billy was released was 2007’s All My Life (the song he wrote for his third wife).

@@willritter4076 Billy Joel fans disagree. Haters gonna hate.
@@andycummings-music I'm a bigger Billy Joel fan than you are. Guaranteed. I bet you can't even name the songs on 52nd Street without looking it up.
@willritter4076
You're wrong again. I can name all of them in order. Hey I just checked out your page you play and sing great man!

These questions are fantastic ! Nice John.
Great interview! Two of my favorite musicians ever!
John Mayer Interviews Billy Joel:
*John Mayer talks, John Mayer talks, John Mayer talks*
*Billy Joel looks on*
Thank you so much for uploading ❤❤❤
So happy for John to see him cross this long awaited threshold!! He's such a natural. Love it. Love him

John Mayer says more words each day before breakfast than you say all day long.
He’s got a rapid fire mind. I think it’s part of his genius
I agree. John’s interviewing himself and letting Billy Joel make a few comments.
If John has ADHD, it shows very much in this interview. Either way, his enthusiastic jitteriness is endearing. ❤
ththanks for posting!!
You're welcome !

Beantiful 🤍❤ Jhon...
Please upload Shawn one too when it's available ❤❤❤
John is an incredible interviewer!!!
Maybe Bill is an incredible interviewee.
Thanks i didn't wanna download Sirius xm app
Why so serious?
Pretty decent 1st interview...!!!
When Billy says he opened up for Bill Withers, give the interview room for a detour.
Audio is mixed a bit quiet. Makes the ads extremely loud when they play.
Hey dude can you upload the interview with john mayer and shawn mendes? otherwise, my girlfriend will leave me. thank you. tommy shelby.
You're girlfriend is not gonna leave you bro... the video is out this morning :p
Nah, his girlfriend left him
I analyzed the distribution - John talks almost 70% of the time in this interview lol
Yeah but he was asking questions for the most part even if they're long-winded.
john mayer interviews john mayer while billy joel interjects
like so often the young guy can learn a lot from the old guy!
Tickets are selling more because the songs have lasted, and who else has them?
They finally demolished Corky’s
Please upload Shawn’s episode when it comes out
Ont le voit pas c’est dommage
20 years? Joel’s last pop studio album was released in 1993 (River of Dreams) over 31 years ago.
Yeah but before Turn the Lights Back On, the last time anything original from Billy was released was 2007’s All My Life (the song he wrote for his third wife).
can you upload the episode with Shawn Mendes? Thank you!
Kinda bugging me that there is a high pitch ring in the background
Where's the shawn Mendes ones ? I was watching it and then ot disappeared omg 😭
I think something happened and it was taken down by copyright stuff :/
@johnmayerfr if you guys uploaded again or sent the google drive link of the interview file, it would be great
I've just uploaded the version with audio only.... if you want to listen to it :)
