Honestly, this racquet is the one I am most excited about because it has the MOST changes in the line. The beam at the hoop is considerably thicker and that wider almost oldschool sledge hammer shape more prevalent on this model theoretically would give one more hitting area and less shanks on the whippy strokes…I ponder if it would he a rocket launcher? Or would the spin be enough to complement the power. Seems to be the most changes in terms of frame and beam width. Even though this is out of my normal spec, Im probably going to get one-a week demo is rarely enough time to get used to a racquet.
Man what a nice racket to hit with coming from a Blade 98 16x19 v7, absolutely an upgrade for me. Love the easy power, not much more, but it's there, 1HBH works better than 2HBH for some reason, same as my B98. This Vc100 racket is faster than my B98. Zero arm fatigue. Love love it. I also got a Extreme tour 98, hits pretty well too, felt a bit too HL for my liking, and the Pure Aero, hits good, but my wrist got tired pretty quickly.
I know this is a bit of a stretch but any similarities to the Prince ripstick. Was using the TT 310 and switched to the ripstick (long story) and I love the sweet spot being higher and the forgiveness on the off center hits. With an 18 gauge poly it takes some of that power and launch angle and the feel is sublime. Love to hear your thoughts! Cheers guys!
Both are very spin friendly, main difference coming down to the feel. This VCORE 100 2023 should feel a bit more comfortable, and plush feeling compared to the 2019 Pure Aero, so it really comes down to the player's preference in feel. Troy, TW

I just purchased the new VCore 100L, but like to add some lead tape to make it similar to the VCore 100, where do you think should i put the lead tape, Grip, Heart or Head, or a bit everywhere?
Nobody can give you a right recommendation. You have to experiment to find the best option for you. Start with adding weight to the throat, that will not change the balance at least. I would add weight to the handle to make it more head light.

We don't have a review, however the lighter versions of the VCORE and EZONE racquets that we have tried usually feel pretty similar to the heavier versions but easier to swing or more maneuverable. That said, the lighter version will be a bit less stable or provide a bit less plow through than the heavier 300 gram unstrung version; so I guess it really comes down to finding the heaviest racquet you can feel comfortable with, giving more stability and plow through, but that doesn't become a detriment to your swing speed over the period of a long match or hitting session. I am using "22 ezone 98" and "23 vcore 98". I think "23 vcore 98" is superior in all parts, but it feels heavy compared to the same specifications. Would "23 vcore 100" be ok as an alternative? Or is it better to wait for "23 vcore 98 light"?
Ive been playing with a Babolat Aero Team Pro for the last 10 years. They don't make that racket anymore, and as I age, that racket has been hard on my elbow. Is this a comparable racket?
Yes, we found the current VCORE line of racquets to feel pretty comfortable on the arms, having a more flexible frame than before as well as good vibration dampening. A couple other you might consider are the Yonex EZONE 100, Wilson Clash 100 or 100 Pro, and Prince Ripcord 100 280g. Troy, TW

I find the Gravity Tour 98 to have some of that classic plush feel and control you might find from a racquet like the Ultra Tour 97 16x19, but with a bit more pop, and has similar levels of spin to the VCORE 98; Gravity Tour 98 has wide open spacing in the upper half of the hoop for a high launch angle and easy spin. Most Yonex users seem to use the yonex poly strings… maybe they work better in Yonex racquets… If I do test the VCore, might experiment with another string. Ciao, John
@@johnnacke2017, Poly Tour Pro seems to be a pretty good option, with decent comfort for a poly. Poly Tour Air is one of the softest options for co-poly strings, so maybe that could be worth a try. We also like Isospeed Cream, Kirschbaum Xplosive Speed, and Gosen Sidewinder, all of which have a more comfortable and softer feel for co-polys. Troy, TW
The VCORE 100 and EZONE 100 are relatively close in power/control levels, however the VCORE 100 helps a bit more with topspin and makes a bit higher launch angle. The EZONE 100 is still spin friendly, just a bit less than the VCORE 100, but is a bit better on the flatter drives and slice. But both of these racquets fall into that 300 gram frame category that are known for easy power and spin. For the VCORE Pro 100 (which has now turned into the Percept 100) is more of the control, and feel type of racquet. It still has pretty good spin potential and big hitters can generate power, but because of the flatter beam design it has more of that control and feel built into it. So I guess it comes down a lot to your preference in feel and what you like from your racquet. What have you been using? Troy, TW

I'm a little surprised by that because Babolat did lower the stiffness on the Strike 100 16x20 more than the other versions. That said, maybe the VCORE 100 could be worth a try. Higher luanch angle, is good or bad for the slice ? I am playing with VcorePro100 since 3 years, but maybe i need something a bite more powerfull. Play-ability wise no, it feels great. Pretty much all the playtesters have come to the conclusion that it looks a little odd, but if you can get past the visuals of the shape, it plays great. Troy, TW

I have tested the Yonex Vcore 100 Pro Light (280) and tested the Wilson Clash V. 2 Light (280) because it is said that racquet is arm friendly. I just think I don't get the same power and spin from the Wilson. However, I do need an arm friendly racquet. But it feels like I am getting more power and spin on the Yonex. Would you have some comments on that. I am an intermediate player.
Yes, the 2023 VCORE does come in a 100L version. We haven't actually tested the lighter version of the 100, but based on the VCORE 100 (300 gram version) the comfort was pretty good. Maybe not as plush feeling as the Clash 100L, as that racquet is pretty flexible in comparison, but comfort seems to be pretty good with the newer Yonex racquets, and the VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) technology. I believe we should be getting some more of the VCORE 100L 2023 around the later part of this month, closer to the 20th of March 2023. Another racquet that might be worth a look is the Prince Ripstick 100 280g, it packs a lot of power and spin, and the throat of the racquet is relatively flexible and has the Prince port system which also dampens the vibrations. Im play testing the Yonex 2021 vcore 100+ for a few months , Would it better to switch to the Yonex 2023 vcore 100L. My current racquet was great for serves and ground stroke but thought the plus took something away from the volley game. Or goe with the vcore 100 2023
Not sure if I would recommend going from the 100+ (high swingweight) down to the 100L. It sounds like the VCORE 100 would be a sufficient enough drop in weight and swingweight, however it is hard to say for certain without trying them on court. Troy, TW

This VCORE is a bit more spin friendly, having a bit more spacing between the strings, and slightly wider hoop up near the contact zone. It is also slightly softer or more flexible. The EZONE 98 is slightly firmer, and although it has decent spin potential, it also feels a bit better on flatter drives and slice shots, compared to the VCORE 98. That said, it is pretty split on whether or not it feels significant enough to go down a grip size to compensate for that. I prefer a grip size 4 3/8" (or #3) and I stick with that for Yonex, I feel like it might be slightly large, but when I have tried going down to 4 1/4" (or #2) it feels a bit too small for my preference. When I’m most concerned about is arm comfort. I can generate my own spin quite easily.

Hi, thank you for a very good review! Do you guys think Yonex Vcore 100 2023 will come in a Light version (280) Would you say this racquet is arm/shoulder friendly. I have tested the Yonex Vcore 100 Pro Light (280) and tested the Wilson Clash V. 2 Light (280) because it is said that racquet is arm friendly. I just think I don't get the same power and spin from the Wilson. However, I do need an arm friendly racquet. But it feels like I am getting more power and spin on the Yonex. Would you have some comments on that. I am an intermediate player.
Yes, the 2023 VCORE does come in a 100L version. We haven't actually tested the lighter version of the 100, but based on the VCORE 100 (300 gram version) the comfort was pretty good. Maybe not as plush feeling as the Clash 100L, as that racquet is pretty flexible in comparison, but comfort seems to be pretty good with the newer Yonex racquets, and the VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) technology. I believe we should be getting some more of the VCORE 100L 2023 around the later part of this month, closer to the 20th of March 2023. Another racquet that might be worth a look is the Prince Ripstick 100 280g, it packs a lot of power and spin, and the throat of the racquet is relatively flexible and has the Prince port system which also dampens the vibrations. As far as accuracy goes, they are pretty close in that regard. I would say you would notice more accuracy or precision, if you went to the VCORE 98. Troy, TW

Poly Tour Pro is nice in terms of pocketing, and decent comfort for a poly. We also like Volkl Cyclone 16 for a lot of control and spin. Troy, TW

Is it closer in comfort than it used to be, with this version of the VCORE 100 having a softer, more plush feel than before, but we would still give the edge in comfort to the VCORE Pro 100, also having more control. The VCORE 100 provides easier power and spin. Troy, TW
Im play testing the Yonex 2021 vcore 100+ for a few months , Would it better to switch to the Yonex 2023 vcore 100L. My current racquet was great for serves and ground stroke but thought the plus took something away from the volley game. Or goe with the vcore 100 2023
Not sure if I would recommend going from the 100+ (high swingweight) down to the 100L. It sounds like the VCORE 100 would be a sufficient enough drop in weight and swingweight, however it is hard to say for certain without trying them on court. Troy, TW

Brittany mentions at about @1:55, that this VCORE 100 provides a bit easier power, and spin potential and the EZONE 100 feels slightly more controlled, and a bit more feel; although feel is more of a subjective thing. Troy, TW
The Speed MP (Graphene 360+) offers a bit more control than both the EZONE and VCORE 100, but also swings with a bit more plow through. The Speed MP is slightly closer to the VCORE Pro 100. Troy, TW

The VCORE 98 will be most similar, due to the headsize and weight. This VCORE is a bit more spin friendly, having a bit more spacing between the strings, and slightly wider hoop up near the contact zone. It is also slightly softer or more flexible. The EZONE 98 is slightly firmer, and although it has decent spin potential, it also feels a bit better on flatter drives and slice shots, compared to the VCORE 98. The VCORE 100 is a bit lighter, faster feeling than both 98's, and provides a bit easier power, and very easy spin potential. Troy, TW

Yonex doesn't usually release the Plus versions with the family right away, so maybe we will be getting them this summer?!

@@tenniswarehouse Thanks!! One more question - have seen several comments over the years about Yonex grips being larger than advertised. Suggestions to order 4 1/4 if you are used to 4 1/3 from other manufacturers. Do you agree that Yonex grips run large?
@@tomg.5066, I would say that some find the Yonex grip size to run slightly large. That said, it is pretty split on whether or not it feels significant enough to go down a grip size to compensate for that. I prefer a grip size 4 3/8" (or #3) and I stick with that for Yonex, I feel like it might be slightly large, but when I have tried going down to 4 1/4" (or #2) it feels a bit too small for my preference. So I guess it depends on preference. Troy, TW

sorry guys/gals i don't care what you say about these "isomorphic" racquets. they simply look like an oversized racquetball racquet to me. a tennis racquet should be round/oval, not a freakin' pentagon. just sayin'.
