There's something I've been saying forever. Have a cabinet with a blank canvas to it. After you purchase and register it online and has been confirmed, you go thru a list of marquee and side panel designs. After you pick your designs, it is mailed to you. Like a build a bear Arcade 1up cab.
I actually like this cabinet for the most part. 20 solid games, great form factor, solid half/half marquee...the rest of the artwork is OK other than the gamelist on the side. Should have done something closer to the Arcade Legends artwork. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think this is a fantastic cab to have in a Mancave/Home-bar/ Gameroom especially from a casual gaming standpoint
Costco didn’t want a showtime cab, or a Star Wars cab, they wanted this.. so 1up made this. This wasn’t 1ups choice or decision. Remember they came to Costco with a Star Wars XL. This is ALL Costco.
In all honesty Arcade 1Up machines are not a real arcade and never was designed to be. You tubers criticize a cabinet before they have ever played it or seen it in person makes people not buy the product thus no money for Arcade 1Up to make what we really want.
Completely agree, this guy has absolutely no life or soul. He just hates for the sake of hating. Id never buy an Arcade1up cabinet as I'm too experienced at building arcade machines but for the money they do the job

If you knew anything about Fox, you'd know that he is a honest man who simply wants to serve a community who is interested in arcades. People who may not have the time or money to ONLY focus on rebuilding original cabinets. People who have been living within the means of THIS community but still want a decent product. If I was a golf fan I’d buy this but not liking golf i’d rather buy a1ups dedicated defender and joust. I like the idea of this multicade, a multi williams with the correct game list would be a killer
I bought this cabinet and am enjoying it with my 3 year old. Bowling is a snappy and easy game to get into with him. The remaining classics satisfy that arcade itch for me. I don't have the space for multiple cabs so this one works out great. All in all fair criticism from the host, but if you're on the fence and in a similar situation as me, this arcade does the trick.
I’d get this if I didn’t have my golden tee XL. I also love the XL monitor, you have everyone stand on the right so they can’t see what club you’re selecting lol.
This is the most Costco arcade product to ever be put in Costco. Seriously, its tailor-made for the Costco crowd - Golden Tee gives them the casual fun, and it gets paired with some great classics that appeal to their average clientele. Its too bad that the graphics package is hideous. Should've actually gone all-in with the CGC inspiration, especially now that Arcade Legends 3 is no longer being produced. As for the company itself, this just solidifies that A1U is trying to use 2024 to clear out debt. Much like Pac-Man, this WILL sell - Pac-Man always sells, and Golden Tee is a great game to play while holding a beer, so it will usually do well. I'll give them this year since it sounded like the debt was pretty nasty, but if they can't get back to doing new products next year then they're not going to come back. Even if they're still releasing the easy sale products, they need new and exciting stuff no later than next June(and even THAT is pushing it) releasing alongside them.
NFL Blitz/NBA Jam XL, I would have bought at $600. This thing, I’ll only pick it up at a deep discount. With 13k manufactured, that’s a possibility. I got my PAC Man XL for $299 which was a great deal.
I still think the average consumer would be interested in this in Costco, despite the price. Pre-pandemic, before I got into arcades, I’d have probably grabbed this. It stands out as different, especially if you’re not an arcade fanatic and just look at this as a piece of entertainment for the home. For most of this community, this isn’t what we wanted. Who knows if we’ll ever get that from them again. Sucks but….my own expectations from them have all but faded.
Personally I think this will be a great cab. It gives us a second chance to get an XL Golden Tee again, but with more games = more value. Plus I think this is a great marketing win for A1UP. Imagine you have a 40ish year old dad who picks this up for nostalgia, then you have the classic games too that the wife and/or kids may like too. iIs good "gateway" cab for a household just getting into a retro cab. Oh and the comment about player 2 having no room for their hand....have you ever played at position 4 on the NBA Jam cabinets? This cabinet has nearly double the room. They left plenty of room for the trackball which in previous models was a complaint. If its under $500 I'll probably get it since I have wanted an XL GT for while now.
I picked it up and it’s been a great addition. No it’s not a $3000 arcade machine, but it wasn’t meant to be. Seems like most viewers completely. We miss the target they’re going for they make machines like this.
I think the goal here is to make money.. This is perfect for people other than us.. If you had this alone in your basement bar with pool table maybe a foose ball table and a dart board.. This really would be great..

It's certainly a pretty wacky idea. What really surprises me is that they didn't put Atari trackball games on this cab. If you told me they were going to do a Golden Tee crossover cab, and you asked me to guess what other games would be on it, my knee-jerk answer would be Centipede.
Why does everyone think that Gorf is somehow unplayable or loses its appeal without the flight stick. Yea, the flight stick is cool and all, but all you need is joystick and fire button and you can play it and still the same game. Flight stick is just aesthetics. Most of these games will play fine. Only one I see that would be unplayable is Defender. Sinistar is better with 49 way joystick, but can play. If the trackball works with Paperboy that may improve play a bit. I get it...some do not like mulit-cades, but A1UP has survive somehow. If it is true that Arcade1up lost a bunch of money, not surprising they will play it safe. Most people who buy these do not even mod them. They leave them stock. For the few that do buy them and want more, they will mod and, possibly, move to real arcades just like others have.
With the upcoming Nova Blast, I'm kinda glad Arcade 1up isn't putting out something I critically need for my home arcade at the moment. I'm cash-strapped.

Maybe at this point I will maybe get some custom graphics for a multicade in 1up shark fin shape and use a slim PS2, X-Arcade tankstick, and make my own multicade cab. I already have a few other 1up cabs. I do have the MK deluxe cab unbuilt, but I don't think it is softmoddable. I wish it was, because then we could put other Midway/Williams/Atari games on it. But, I have PS2 Midway Treasures discs, and they have games on them like NARC and Pit-Fighter which aren't on 1up cabs. So, the solution is to create a custom 1up cab with a PS2 inside on the G panel and an X-Arcade stick that I have sitting on the side panels where the Arcade1up deck would go.
U need to think bigger picture!!! If you have rentals or airbnbs this cab is a NO BRAINER bc its a cool very affordable multicade with the right games.....bottom line....ugly as fuck or not this WILL SELL OUT!
To much emphasis on the cabinet’s APPEARANCE. Newsflash: most of us care about how the games PLAY. What’s the quality of the trackball? Is it possible to play Defender with that button layout? Does the absence of the flight stick really hurt Gorf? Tell us more about the monitor. Good grief, I agree that the marquee is ugly, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker, and hardly what’s on my mind when I’m playing Tapper or Defender. Maybe a follow-up video on gameplay, or maybe wait to offer a vid until you can make some hands on observations? Just trying to help……..
Strange to do a video on something you don't own or haven't even physically played. Unless you're just wanting to just do a hit piece on A1Up? There's definitely a market for this cab because it's going to appeal to a lot of people who have never purchased a home cab before. This will be a hot item this holiday season for that reason only.
@19kfox I picked one of these up from Costco. Owned a GT 2005 for years but sold It to make room for another pinball machine. This size cabinet works perfect in my game room and I like the different mix of games. I watched your six month review video of your Golden Tee XL and this one from Costco has the same games plus some others that I really enjoy. Not sure why you are hating on it? This scratches the Golden Tee itch and I can play Gauntlet with my little brother when he comes over. This is a winner in my opinion.
I had zero interest in a Golden tee cabinet... but... I'm buying this cab, great line up, and the mod potential for this is huge. It's not what YOU want,and there's nothing wrong with trying new things, It's probably going to sell extremely well dude 🤷🏿♂️
I think you’re sad that A1up left you and is evolving to what sells. No one purchased the A1up arcade recreations. They were all clearanced starting at Walmart and eventually showing up at Ollie’s and such. This is what the retailers feel they can sell so that is what was made. My guess is that it sells extremely well and thus Costco purchases more multicades . If the arcade hobbyist would have purchased more than you would get more of that from A1up but that’s not what happened.
Is there a retail arcade product out there that I don’t have to modify is new comes ready to play and plays preloaded defender better than this ? otherwise I think this works
Yeah can't say I'd ever want to own this. Golden tee is something that's better off doing it's own thing, or being a combo with Silverstrike bowling like was originally planned as they use the same control scheme.(Why didn't they give us that?) Basically any game that needs more realestate and buttons to play doesn't benefit from being played on this cabinet. If you want a multicade, just mode something yourself and have a much more enjoyable experience than this rig. I don't hate it, but I don't see the appeal either.
Clearly Golden Tee does sell or they wouldn't keep making new versions of it. I just wish they would bring the XL back and with a BOE, as a hesitated and they sold out.

You mean a 19 in 1 board which has defender, joust & bubbles on it. If I was Arcade1Up I wouldn't release any cabs that are priced over 500 dollars unless it's a Tron or StarWars type cab. Because at 600 bucks your right it's not an impulse buy. Again if I was Arcade1Up I would keep the cabs priced between 300 & 500 so when there is a sale customers who bought it at full price don't feel like suckers.
Arcade 1Up has lost the plot, mostly since their creative spirit is in the toilet. They're basically at the beck and call of their retail overlords, which is really pathetic. Sick of Golden Tee, total waste of an XL, ugly design, instant skip.

In your opinion what is the best cabinets to look at?? I’m looking to put a couple in my new shop but I know nothing about them.

Once costco begins to liquidate them for 299, the cabs will be great to mod them into mortal kombat xl cabs.

I will get it if the price drops to 300$ It is hard because I already have the mk deluxe and most of the games already exists.
