For years I’ve made the “adjustment” myself manually by increasing the oven temp to compensate for the 20-25 degree error, but when someone else cooks in the oven I invariably forget 😕 I mean - who micro-manages their guest’s cooking efforts? 🤔

Hi Bill I have trouble with oven temp but what I do is put the temp gauge hang it from top rack then turn oven to 350 wait till oven beeps I check it is up to 400 + so I just leave it in there till it has gone down to 350 am I doing this right ? Thank you
I adjusted my range -30 and convection fan makes it uniform however if I increase the item to 400f the temp shoots up to 450f. Range needs a new thermostat
My oven is low by exactly 25 degrees. I have a Kenmore gas oven, model #: 790.71349700 that has minimal buttons and no start button. I tried your second option, but the zeros never came up after setting the temp to 550 and holding down Bake. Do you have any other suggestions?
I know you said this was for the cooking temp and not for the preheating part. Is it normal for it to take about 10-15 minutes longer to preheat after the preheat ding has gone off?
How about if the temperature goes way higher (over 100 degrees higher) than what you set it at? Whirlpool Gold accubake single wall oven. Would it be the sensor/thermostat or possible something else? Thanks in advance!
My Frigidaire oven is off by 50 degrees, lower than the the setting. When I hit the BAKE button for six seconds, instead of 00, it returns to the time.
@@hudini2356 I found the owner's manual and followed the directions and recalibrated it. First step is to hit Bake and increase the temp to 550; then hold BAKE button down for 3 seconds; and a two digit number popped up. Cannot remember if it was 25 or 30. I just increased and decreased that two digit number and in between set the oven to 350 until it finally heated at 350 the first shot.
organized4 Usually the Kenmore washers and dryers hold up over the years fairly well. When they do break, they are relatively cheap and easy to fix. Thanks for Watching and Thanks for the comments!

I have an old oven. There is a big difference between when the oven cuts on and when the oven cuts off. I suppose I average those temperatures?

Mine is off by around 150
I rarely use my oven anymore because the calibration was so off. I bake everything at 500 degrees.
the device you placed in the oven is not a thermostat, its a thermometer, and how do you know that 15 dollar oven thermometer is accurate?

Same here. Off 50 degrees too low on a Whirlpool. Holding the Bake button gets you two warning beeps and no change in the display.

Cost me $50 for a tech to come to my house and ask me for my stove manual so he could do this. Took 10 minutes tops. Lesson learned!

Kenmore. It's an ok stove, lasted almost 15 years so far. I had better luck with their stove than the washer and dryer.
