  • This video is not a paid review. The video shows me using the chainsaw to saw up a downed tree branch. I purchased my chainsaw from Amazon. If you would like to check it out on Amazon, click on the link amzn.to/3kRP719 . Happy sawing :)

When using a chainsaw there's no reason to push & pull like a hand saw. Just keep the front of the motor close to the branch...

It seemed to work better when I moved the saw back and forth. And it helped to keep the chain from getting stuck in the groove being made.

It’s also dangerous! Those pointed edges at the base of the saw are there to make contact
with the wood. That’s why they are there. Just want for you to be safe! Nice video also!

@@melissarider3819 keep safe anyhow Melissa, I was in forestry for 33 year's & trained in the forestry school. When the chain is well sharpened it will slide down threw the cut with ease.
But a chainsaw is a dangerous bit of equipment even in a trained operators hand's.
      Well done on your video.!

@@stanleybowman4464 I second the "...well sharpened, it will slide down threw the cut with ease."

Thank you for making this video, it took some of the scare away since I just bought this same chainsaw and I've never used a chainsaw before.😊

Thank you Melissa! I just purchased my first chain saw and purchased the B & D 14 " electric chain saw today as I didnt want a battery/gas powered due to the cost. I won't be using mine too often, but when a tree limb comes down, like it did the other day right on my fence I will need one. Thanks for your video, it was helpful!😊

    Thanks for the review!
Ever thought about setting up a mini solar generator?
You can set up a pair of 12V batteries + an inverter + charge administer, and move that in your van with a pair of solar panels to wherever you gotta cut stuff. No long cords!

Thanks for the lessons, the best B&D chainsaw tips so far i'd seen; it must have been hand-saw habit that kicked in (on your pull strokes? lol)
Thanks again, as i hit the "like" button.

Not trying to be critical of your ability to use a saw. Props to learning how. You might find it cuts a little better if you let it rest against the saw and not do the sawing motion back and forth and instead kinda torque it into the wood and let the saw do all of the work. I sure I didn’t explain that very well but should be able to find several videos of proper chainsaw techniques. Again props for getting out there and learning how to do it yourself. Be safe and god bless

A tree of this size, you should use an electric battery power reciprocating saw for portable and safety.

I would have been done with my gas chainsaw by the time you plugged that 1 in.

Why don't you get a battery powered chainsaw

  • @canopus8012

Chain looks blunt, if sharpened properly the saw should pull through the timber, no back and forth should be needed.
