Top Video ! Showing a classic rescue of a disabled train and the relief Loco doing a wrong line move from Mordialloc. The signaller at Kananook Panel issuing the Train Authority for the Loco to make it's move.
So the brake pipe modification on a Siemens was actually used! I was involved in testing that back in about 2004/5. Locos, VLocity, X’Trapolis, and Comeng, all tested on the little test track at Newport (1 Road New Sidings extended). We used Steamrail’s Y-class as a loco, and missed out on being able to use a steamer by a day or so. The testing was also originally meant to be with a Sprinter, but since the V/Locity was new at the time we opted to use that. A 2-car VL pulling a 6-car Siemens did it, slowly…
At 4:37, is that some sort of coupling-adapter they fitted to the Siemens? It's a bit too far away to see how the electrics and air would be connected to the loco.
local who doesn't know much about trains here, is this the "loco" that usually runs on the stony point line, or did they have to send a different one all the way down from the city (or even further away)?
@robmcfarlane3602 Other than the hundreds of millions to build a station whose infrastructure is so low quality it breaks in the wind, taking one of Melbourne's major lines out for a day?
@@longframe486 I don't think they maintain the trains or the train electric system, there are seperate industries and unions for that. the companies cfmeu are involved with just built the stations as far as I know. a similar thing happened on the sandringham line a few days later, do you blame the cfmeu for that too? there aren't any new stations on the sandy line.

It was great to witness this. Kananook were quiet in one way but busy with this.
Thanks for watching!
Same loco that ran the last loco hauled Bairnsdale service.
It certainly was. A busy wind down for this N!

It’s a transition coupler. The couplers aren’t the same so it connects the 2. One sits at every end of the metro fleet for this purpose.
@@smarTarraY2000The Siemens fleet only has one transition coupler, mounted on the T-car.
When can I see those N Class rescue Trains
I’m assuming when they happen you can see them. This Edithvale one is here and there’s one at Tecoma (Thurs 05.09.2024)
Thanks for watching!

They sent this one. The one you are talking about is a V/Line Sprinter that runs on the Stony Point line.
Thanks for watching!
@@smarTarraY2000 He might be talking about the loco that pulls the steel trains to Bluescope, Hastings.
@@normandiebryant6989 he could be.
Njce train
Thanks for watching!
I wonder how much the CFMEU was paid? Labor's big build
What does that have to do with a disabled train.
you think the CFMEU controls the weather???
