  • Want to fly like a professional Airline Pilot? Capt. Brian Schiff gives us three tips to help GA pilots fly safer and more standardized. Many of these standard operating procedures (SOPs) are similar to the ones I teach my students. By implementing professional SOPs, we can all become safer and better pilots.

These were some amazing tips! As a recreational pilot, I‘m starving to learn how to be redundant and disciplined as a single pilot!!

Really good content. I just became a CFI and will definitely incorporate some of this while teaching.

Really great stuff! I love these a lot.
Don't you just hate though when you go to do pre-flight, finish it up, then go for a last 360 around the plane.. only to find there is no wing? ugh literally such a waste of time. :)

I love one of Jason's podcasts from the past where he said it's ok to change your personal minimums, but it's not ok to change them that day for that flight's go/no go decision. Great advice!

Hi you give a lot of good tips. Have you ever thought of composing a book or something with your tips from your guest and you? I think it would do a good service!!!

Interesting points, some great learning tips!
Something I’ve got into the habit of doing in the before landing checks is calling out “Fuel: pump - on; contents - sufficient for a go around.” Is sort of a last reminder that the landing is optional.

You know it's interesting the funny little seemingly stupid redundancy checks like not letting the Tow bar leave your hand while it's attached to the plane but when you don't do simple little things like that the little things grow up and become big things...
