    At 05:04 in the video, you can hear a background sound like a foghorn. Sorry to ask an off-topic question, but is a foghorn also a part of that light station ?
    Oh, there it is again at 07:13 except it sounds a bit closer and more localized. With added humidity.
    By the way, there is nothing wrong with pork n beans, or just plain old baked beans. But yeah, I wouldn't want that to be my only choice.
    Brings up another question.... Is TP considered your responsibility to order with your groceries, or would that be supplied? Only asking because it seems it wasn't too long ago, we bought big jumbo 30-packs for like $6.99 or $7.99 (WM or Costco), and now the same thing is 20 bucks plus tax.

      The sound at 5:04 is from the video game I am playing. Foghorns used to be part of stations but they were removed long before I started the job. They used to have their own room in one of the buildings from my understanding and were really really loud. Now when there is a lot of fog, you can hear the Northern Expedition coming as they blast their fog horn pretty regularly. Traffic here are pretty good at using their radio to let others know when the big boats are in the channel and the smaller ones stay away under the bigger ones have gone thorough. The Foghorn at 7:13 still kinda happens from time to time. haha
      TP is your own responsibility. You can order it through your monthly tender but yes, TP, paper towels, pretty much anything that is for your personal consumption is provided by yourself.

    Im wondering do you ever venture far from boat bluff. I know it well. Looks like a painting.

      Only as far as Klemtu or a few good fishing spots not too far from the station. It would be an amazing place to explore if you had the proper boat and time.

      @@BCLighthouseKeeper i was just wondering if you could hike very far from the station. It looks like it would be almost impossible.

    • @BCLighthouseKeeper
      @BCLighthouseKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnwright291 There are a few trails but they are not very easily traversed. The landscape is quite steep and the forest is very dense. The trails are used by wildlife so they are also pretty rough in places. I have gone about an hour and a half away from the station by trail and on the GPS it was not far at all. I have heard of others years ago who have gone pretty far but they have a lot of back country hiking experience so not something I would want to try myself.

      @@BCLighthouseKeeper the terrain is pretty much that way from the north end of Vancouver island north. Its actually a very good thing because it will never fall victim to the industry of man. I used to live in wrangell Alaska and in the mid 70s someone got the idea of logging using helicopters. Fortunately it didn't pan out.

    Hi. I enjoy your videos. Question for you. Are you able to buy frozen vegetables and fruits?

    • @BCLighthouseKeeper
      @BCLighthouseKeeper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, buying frozen is not a problem and that is usually what I keep around for stir-frys. A touch of frozen corn and peas with the rice is pretty great.
      I got frozen brussel sprouts with my last tender. Never tried to cook them before so we will see what I can do with them. Great time to try new things.....

    Can you put alcohol 🍺 on your list?
    Is the list paid by the gov?

    • @BCLighthouseKeeper
      @BCLighthouseKeeper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can buy alcohol no problem if that is your thing. All your groceries are paid for by yourself and not the Gov.
