There are 2 books by Donald Graham about BC's lighthouses. He was a lighthouse keeper and a Historian so it is a really good combo for making some compelling books. Keepers of the Light is one of them, this book focuses on the lights around Vancouver Island and then there is Lights of the Inside Passage. Unfortunately nether of these books have anything on Boat Bluff but there is a lot of other great facts and history of BC's lights. Both books were written in the 80's so they don't really represent Lighthouses of today but there is still tons of great info in them.
I am unsure how it would work in India and what their requirements are. Here in Canada, first and foremost you need to be either a Canadian Citizen or a Canadian Resident. if you are neither of these then unfortunately you are unable to take a government position. If India has a Coast Guard then you may want to contact them directly and find out if they have a Lighthouse program.
GP is not accurate just use it whe driving I would say 50% of the time its wrong or it tells you to turn onto a farmers field or it shows that your driving on a none existent road even through the road has been there for 50+ yrs lol from what I remember, lighthouse lights are also timed ad that time is a little different per lighthouse so that at night you can figure out where you are just by the flash of the light at least that is what I remember from the quick navigation course in school back in the 1970s about how to use the lighthouses, we were taking a field trip for a few weeks on a Schooner called the Robinson 2 through the BC gulf islands and we needed to learn about how lighthouses worked for navigating when a person is on the water everything looks almost the same lol
There is a listing of all the aids to navigation and these aids have all kinds of features to help tell you where you are as well as what to avoid. You are correct that Lighthouses use a specific type of flash to let you know what you are looking at.
