Tally Ho felt like a complete replacement instead of a repair. I would have to say Sailing YABA, Ship Happens, and Sailing Seabird would be right up there. These were drastic repairs without replacing everything.
Solar pannels over the dinghy davits make a lot of sense. The dingy catches far less rain and protects it from the sun. On top of that, pannels over the dingy spend more time in the sun compared to the ones on the coachroof as they are not in the shade of the main sail as much
I prefer the approach Delos is using on their new catamaran with the extended coach roof. You get all the benefits you mentioned but the solar "real estate" is much greater and when the dinghy is in the water you still great a great view too.
I love your channel, it is honest and straightforward. There are lot of TH-cam never sailed before that think youtube stars before else. I just red one of typical youtube sailors clishe "BOAT DAMAGE DISASTER" , it is not about sailing, 80% of those channels if not more, is drama, bikinis, and then try to sell you some supplements or things you do not need in your life. I used to have so many car engine failures, I never knew that that can be a income means, not my school of life. What surprises me most, Patreons financing same vicious circle instead of financing a good school, course, tutoring.. so it does not happen to them any more. But somehow.. we all know.. once no drama.. no show. No views, no income. And then inevitably it comes .. "why we decided to abandon sailing".. not because there was some real good reason for ones that trully love sailing, but because finances and views did not work, think more hones assessment would be, we thought we can live a dream on youtube viewers expenses, but did not work.
Cyclades (Sik'la'deez) were Charter boats for the Med market if I recall correctly, it's a boat that check the right boxes and has one of the best SA/DIS ratios of that time. Of course, Croatia has the cheapest boats, I'm beginning to wonder if that's Europe's equivalent to Guatemala. Outremer's are lovely boats, the original Outremer 50/55 designed by Gerard Danson is a rocketship that was a nice balance, it was a nitch semi-customj production yacht is a dream to sail. Grand Large Yacht who took over makes expensive yachts 'Oyster' caliber yachts, La Vagabond models was the Outremer 45-2. Rapido La Vagabond is umm ugly. When I heard this boat uses Carbon fiber in a production boat I heard Han Solo go "I got a bad feeling about this", the other thing is a trimaran has less room than a Catamaran of similar size and same loads on sails and rigging. I have noticed that all pandemic boats seem to have issues with improper construction or system issues and QC. Great Circle which is the Outremer 55 mk2, they've lost a few vids now that the boats for sale, but I remember them losing a rudder, among other design flaws.

Entertaining video, only I have different thoughts about some topics: -The Outremer 45 is surprisingly small inside and in my eyes more a boat for a spartan couple, a holiday cruise with a small/young family or as a weekender with your friends. Inside space like on a Lagoon or FP with just 40 feet. Also only few Outremer 45 only were indeed 45 feet, since most (except the first few models) had an extended transom, so most have ca. 48 feet. -Solar on the davits is great for numerous reasons: boom/sail does not throw much shade onto the cells, so better solar performance. The solar there also delivers shade and rain protection for the dinghi, so less wear&tear there. View aft still is fine though. Neverheless, I love the Outremer 45, only you shouldnt be tall on that boat and not too many people. Because of the limited space we bought another cat, after we spent some time on a Outremer 45. Cheers!

I don't understand why you hate solar panels on the back of most boats. Totally get that they are not an asset when listing a boat for sale, but where else are you going to put them? You need like 1600 W. to charge a large battery bank. Hassle, yes but is there any other option to sticking them on the back with an arch?

If I had a million bucks I would love to sail a Pegasus 50. A carbon fiber boat. But I am a old guy now and would probobly buy the alures 52. It's made from aluminum i think in France . Both twin rudder boats.

Probably not Sail Life- is it worth spending .... $20k+? and I think 6+ years to save $0 on a 1987 warrior 38? Probably not Sail Life- is it worth spending ... $150k? and probably 4-6 years of your 40's? on a 2006? PDQ 44? Probably not Emerald Steel- 1 boat, 40 years or something ... pretty impressive stuff there Patrick Lane- think he sails a Bavaria 40- and is probably the most realistic example of solo sailing David Shih- probably not worth doing, seems like a story that'll end in sadness InTooDeep- has had 2 boats & is always very transparent about operating costs.
