    Features are as described. I wore this every day for 7 months and really liked it. I used it to track my pool swims about 4 times a week. Unfortunately, it started to shut down and/or go into vibration mode and has now gone unresponsive and no longer works. The support team in China will not repair or refund. They say it is out of warranty because I 'wore it in the shower'. Of course we need a rinse before and after a pool swim! What kind of 'swim' watch can't handle that? The warranty they quoted me in their response actually says "Contact with soap or soapy water when washing hands, washing dishes, doing hand laundry, showering or bathing." They circled the word "showering" and claimed that is the reason for the lack of refund. That is NOT what it says in the warranty. I did NOT expose it to soap or soapy water but I did rinse in and out of the local pool. Not a good purchase. Stay away from this watch and company.

      Well your not actually meant to go into water with an electrical device, as they state in their TOS, yes it's waterproof but only to a certain extent, so sadly it's your fault, it's no normal to go into water with a smart watch, do you go in a pool with your phone? (rhetorical question)

    • @douchebaggins7
      @douchebaggins7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @Corey
      I don't think you know exactly what you're talking about. It's a sport fitness watch. It even has a swimming tracker in the activity tracker setting. It has a water purge function for after swimming.
      I have several other "electrical devices" that I wear 24-7. I swim, shower and use the spa with them frequently without any issues. I have some that are several years old.
      This is ticwatchs attempt at not honoring their warranty. Hey let's put "you can't shower with it" in the fine print and use that, everyone showers, right?
      Your comment made absolutely no sense.

    Your reviews are really well prepared and detailed. One room for improvement is swimming. You were mentioning if the watch tracks HR in the pool and it's accuracy. You gave up this test a while ago. I hope you add this part back. Cheers!

      Would underline this! Is there an open water mode in the ultra version? And - I really want to wear the watch on the beach and in the sea - I hope the watch can handle the saltwater... .-)

    • @yalim7960
      @yalim7960 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@catull07 it can handle water but,you need to wash the salt out of the watch (moving parts,charging pins,speaker and mic holes) with fresh water before the salt dries out.btw,this is the same for every sportrswatch out there,not only ticwatch.

    Thank you for this review. Looks pretty good in your testing. I'm glad you compared it to the Galaxy Watch 4, and it's a surprising result to me that the Ticwatch is more accurate in the HRM and even for weight training than the Galaxy Watch 4, Quite a disappointment, too. In addition the Ticwatch has got the largest battery in the Wear OS world, 577mAh, which is a whopping 60% more battery capacity than the Galaxy Watch 4, 60%! The watch really isn't much larger, only about 2.5mm in diameter and 1.3 mm In addition it's got the transflective screen. Good combo for autonomy. I really liked that the Ticwatch incorporates a HIIT training regiment. This is the only area where I have a question, does the HIIT programmable activity tracking include running? Thank you.

      I'm struggling to decide between the two aswell. I like the fitness aspects of Garmin Venu 2 and the battery life but i like the look of the Ticwatch more and it would probably be good enough for me fitness wise......which one did you go for in the end?

    • @Redandwhitezebra
      @Redandwhitezebra 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chriseccles5493 I've gone for the Venu 2 in the end (coming from a Fossil Sport) and I can honestly say I do not regret the decision at all. The screen is amazing and the watch feels so responsive. The fitness features and garmin connect app are just head and shoulders above google fit and fitness is the primary feature I use the watch for. The customization for the watch faces isn't as great nor is garmin pay with only a few banks supported in the UK but these are things I think i can live with. If i could add one feature it would be compatibility with youtube music the way spotofy and deezer are integrated so that i could download songs onto the watch and leave my phone at home will out running, there is a workaround for this but would be so much better if it was seamless like spotify is. Overall I am very happy with my decision and i don't think i could go back to having watch you have to charge every few days now get a good week out of this!!

      I have the Garmin Venu 2 and love it. The only reason I'm looking at another watch is Garmin Pay only supports revolute in Ireland. I'm after something with google pay. I get 5-7 days battery from my Garmin. I can't decide about the tic watch.

      I had been using the honor magic watch 2 for 2,5 years. Never any issues. Great battery life. I thought I needed a smarter watch so I got the Ticwatch 3 pro ultra gps. I regret not going for the Garmin Venu 2. Disappointing battery life on the Ticwatch. Maximum 2 days. Constantly looking at the battery. If you want a watch for working out go for a true fitness watch.

      You'd get more robust text replies as well as being able to speak on the watch itself with the TWP3U but that's if you're on Android. If you're an iPhone owner that doesn't apply. Other than that though, I'd say the Venu has more features overall than the TWP3U at the same price.

    Great review. A bit bummer that the heart rate and gps isn't as good as I was hoping for, but sadly it does seem like the best of the worst when it comes to wear os watches?
    Also I've used the ticwatch pro 3 in the past, and the biggest annoyance for me, was that the health monitoring features wasn't really continuous? Things like heart rate and stress tracking were tracked more every minute or every hour which is useless, is it the same with the tic watch pro 3 ultra? Also is the vibration motor any better with this?

    Can you use the GPS with mapping without taking phone with you on a run?

    • @Brian-eo7rd
      @Brian-eo7rd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm also interested in this question. My own experience is that the on watch GPS is extremely flaky without a phone paired, but am wondering if I got a dud.

    • @TB-vb3ov
      @TB-vb3ov 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Brian-eo7rd Unfortunately I don't think you have a dud. I experienced the same issue with my past smartwatches too. However I own a Garmin Fenix 5 and it comes with preloaded maps and s true built in GPS. It's a huge watcg though and lacks a lot of the true smartwatch features. It does have good activity tracking along with the usual health monitoring. Just wish I could have a smaller watch with it all.

    I would buy one if they removed the leading zero in 12 hour format. Why they don't seem to understand that am/pm replaces the zero is beyond me. Maybe you could mention that to them. Pretty simple update to the secondary panel they want you using.

    Hey Des, thanks for the detailed review ! I have a couple of questions:
    Does the TicWatch 3 Ultra have metal inserts into the case at the holes where the strap lugs attach to the case, like Garmin watches with plastic cases have ?
    Also, does the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra have any kind of notification indicator on the power-saving screen ?
    Thanks !

    The one this I don't like about the design is the use of pin based charging ports. Over time those pins get dirty and sometimes does not connect as well.

    Hi Des, I recently discovered your channel and I really like your reviews. I am looking to get my first ever smart watch with weight lifting fitness tracking but a Garmin. From your reviews, I like that they are durable, have sleep tracking (really important for me right now), I can also get updates and other fitness tracking like cycling. Which one would you advice I get? I also want to use the watch as my daily watch. Noticed you wear the same Garmin in your videos(like this one). What model is it?

    After 1 day of moderate usage I've got 34% left. No 24 hrs monitoring, no sleep monitoring... I think those guys reviewing (not just this channel) are paid by Mobvoi to not saying the truth, or simply Chinese boys have send them with diff batt if they say up to 3 days.. it's my second Tic Watch 3 Ultra, as first one I had to change as from 87% plunged down to 5%... after just 36 hrs... so I know what I'm talking about... to bad, as watch alone is nice piece of 'equipemnt'. I'm returning it back to Amazon heading today Costco for $245 plus tax for Samsung 44mm... (currently on sale 279 down to to 249)... G. luck to all.

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope not paid at all just like all my other reviews. I can’t imagine why they would send reviewers a different battery and send consumers something different as it’s the consumer who really matters at the end of the day. That’s indeed odd regarding your battery situation but I stand by my findings.

    • @zawaprz
      @zawaprz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DesFit because they are Chinese. 5G, etc.. lot's of why to get into our US houses via those watches... long story.. anyhow, I tried one of your tip, and disabled GPS (which I think it is 'location' refereed on TC), and that seems significantly reduce %tage drop instantly... also from my research, it takes few charging/discharging cycles to truly see improvement of capacity of the battery, so maybe my review is 'preliminary'.. the first though was definitely a 'lemon' junt not properly showing drop of electrical level 87 down to 5% in a sec...

    • @zawaprz

      an update: once GPS been turned off; after 1 day of light usage, and turning off 4 the night; got 85%. Way better; way what I was thinking when buying it based my choice because of TH-cam reviews... I believe GPS off mostly bring this positive impact, yet to see to what degree the turned off Mobvoi Launcher. Thx for this channel's host info about GPS usage: 6% per hour.

    You should do a follow up on this review - one year later - how Mobvoi lied to its customers and offered NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER! Promising an upgrade to Wear os 3 before end 2022 - Not! Not ever a security update since 5 Oct 2021 (and they advertise to use google wallet)! My Pro 3 Ultra GPS will be the last product I ever buy from Mobvoi!
    And to rub salt in the wound there are rumors of the Pro 5 Ultra on it's way with Wear OS 3.....with a company supporting their customers like Mobvoi - not a chance!
