No, miss Saigon was not offered to her because Leah was really the first and only choice, but Regine was offered another Disney lead character but she refused bcoz she felt that she was not ready for it but she is a very good actress her in the Phil, she has done several lead roles.

And then Jamie later on revealed that Regine was really the choice for the lead role. She then said in an intervirw that she never really saw herself as a musical or broadway/westend kind of singer.

Her training with her father was intense. She'll submerge herself in a neckdeep water (take note, she's doing in the the seashore) and she'll have to sing and do vocal acrobats ans run. Her father told her it'll improve her rosonance, sustainabikity and power. And it did. All thanks to Regine and Mang Gery (Sir Gery, her Father).

But personally, my belief is that she has one of the best sounding belts among all female pop singers particularly her F5s that's characterized by much resonance, are very rounded and unusually thick for asians. Her belts are comparable to the likes of Jennifer Hudson and some other black singers.

The reason why there is difference on her performance between the song I don’t wanna miss a thing and that song is probably on my own observation the other song was sang in live tv stage while that song was sang on an orchestrated concert stage for i knew she wanted to give her audience more perfect in concert than on tv show
In one of her interviews, she was asked if she thinks that her life would be different now if she played Miss Saigon and she said yes. She also told the whole story. She said she received a letter offering her to train abroad for the role but she didn't train because according to her, she don't wanna be far away from her family. She also said that it'll be hard for her to sing in musicals because she'll be singing the very same notes and arrangements each and everytime. She said it'll be hard for her because she always want to do adlivs and flairs. But I've seen some old clips of her performing in local theatre and musicals in the Philippines.
