She's fantastic indeed! Regine will never be declared as the Asia's Songbird for nothing . . . Singing Regine songs is like facing your own vocal death! Lots of Philippine belters were taking Regine as their major influence because of her vocal prowess and she's a queen!!!

Like Lea Salonga, she's nearly 50 years old & both ladies show no signs of voice aging. Regine is the gold standard that most Filipino female singers set their goals on eversince she won her first national singing competition back in 1984. I believe she won The Asia Song Festival (which is kind of like Eurovision) a few years later (1989.)

Actually, her range changed since she got pregnant. She had to do vocal therapy to bring her to the level that she is right now.
Lea's voice hasn't changed a bit since her theater days, she has been amazing in taking care of her pipes.
Nevertheless, they are pillars of Filipino music and have been great inspiration to a lot of current singers.
@@mgcustodio I think Lea's voice changed as well. In the old days, she can sing without too much vibrato but now, she using a lot of it. Her tone matured but still clear tho.
Regina Velázquez its the type of singer that you dont want to stop listening.I like SoYang a lot but sometimes her high belting make my ears humb.But in the case of Regina she maybe don't have that extremely high notes of SoYang but the overall quality,the total control of her voice,the technique and that very special romantic voice make her a non stop hearing singer.She it's the type of singer that deserves to be in the best stages of the world...but she is a proud phillipine singer and unfortunately the world don't know that probably the best female singers are phillipines.She it's amazing.

It's so great to have heard your inputs about her. It this was just one of the random performances from her concert in October 6, 2000 (I mean not the most recommended). She is kept hidden in the Philippines and in Asia since 1990s. She was offered to do international and on Broadway but she wants to stay close to her family. Regine is already the QUEEN of the Philippines. She is the Asia's Songbird. Regine is on top of her game for almost 35 long years now! And if you can watch her post prime vocals --- SHE GOT THE RESONANCE you were looking for. At her current age of 49, she is still unparalleled, the most respected and still killing the game. As you have mentioned, she inspired a pack of new generation singers in the country like Morissette, Katrina Velarde, Angeline, Jona, Darren Espanto, TNT Boys and a lot lot lot more. They all grew up singing Regine songs.

I love you were surprise Sam at 8:37 when she hit a B5 note which Whitney never did in the original song. Regine sang this in a high key. Apart from your actual reactions which I always love, you've gotten me hooked on how well you sing! I don't want to diss the other vocal coaches on TH-cam as I know that coaches' key skill is the ability to teach someone to hone their talent. But, there've been quite a number of times when they'd point out something the singer in the video does and their own voice is so off that it makes you wonder if they really know what they're being critical about. In your case, I've watched you a number of times and each time you do something like that you're spot-on...and of course that makes you come across as waaaay more credible than many others. Kudos! Wishing you'll come to listen to more of Regine and other Filipino singers...so you'll never again have to wonder how you missed seeing and hearing them sing :)

You have to understand that some people can appreciate and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to specific arts... For instance, when someone is into art painting, it doesn't mean they can paint the same as the artist... Some people have a lot of knowledge to interpret and analyze someone's voice but it doesn't mean they can sing the same.... But I see your point though
