Fun fact: The reason the song in-game glitched out at 2:27 was because, unlike most music, Winds of Fjords was being played as a native tracker file using the built in tracker player that Roblox had at the time (I believe it was finally removed from the engine around the mid-2010s, but had been deprecated long before that as tracker audios could only be uploaded by admins (and WoF is the only time they did!) and while it could use Base64-encoded audio, Base64 support was also removed in 2009 due to it being hard to moderate). The problem lied in the fact that this tracker wasn't perfect, and the 'slow tempo down by x%' instructions in the tracker file were not emulated properly causing it to slow too much, leading to the overextended note.
i liked that overextended note, its fun to guess when it will stop, like "Oh is it gonna stop here? oh no no! its stopping here! aw, no? OH HERE, HERE!.. no... what about-" and so on

I have to ask. Back when you made this in 2001, did you ever expect it to take off as it did? I know it may sound like a stupid question, no one can predict their future. But this song...bearing nostalgia, is its own thing entirely. Its haunting at first. Like walking through a fog unsure of what lurks behind it. Yet as it goes on, a sense of vigour courses in, and now you're not just walking, but doing so in a stride of your own accord, assured that you'll take down whatever comes your way. Then in the middle, the fog clears up. You can now see where to go, what to do, and how to get there without stumbling. That clarity goes on until it hits the decline. And though you've gone through it, others will still have to endure it. Haunting whoever passes through next. What I'm trying to say here with this nonsense is just this: Thank you. For not only a great song, but for something that, whether or not you wished for, has became apart of many child and teenage hoods for years now. Wow can’t believe this is the story behind Wind Of Fjords. I did grow up hearing it a lot from older zombie games in roblox. Or Area 51 games for a short period of time from 2012-16. Tragic to see someone’s work be uploaded without their terms and just hit the water works, but it ended like this with a better version and multiple people who can recognize it. Never have heard this version be so clean other than someone who tried to revise it a few years ago. Also I remember this being added to the game “The Rake” before it was removed after the alpha version of that game was finished.
FINALLY SOMEBODY REMEMBERS THE RAKE BETA (its kinda the reason i know this song, i joined in 2016 and rake was the third horror game i played. it was in the v7 era of the game)
I will never forget this song and all the amazing Roblox games I’ve played as a kid. Really was my moments of where I just felt free and could be anything I want.

Man this is my fav song that i found in the rake classic day theme but it all got changed but after i found this it made me gone back to that classic rake gameplay again.
I've been a Roblox member since 05-06, and later found this song in a game that no longer exists, it took place in a misty field where you fought. Pretty old world. I will always hold this song in fondness.
@@minebrandon95264 I'm bummed that I don't have any game to tie it to, It always just manifested in all sorts of games during the 2012-2014 period, but Build to Survive was actually one of the only games I can physically remember played this song, I guess the games are long gone, entrenched in the burrows of Lua code ig.
I can't... No song has ever made me cry by just turning it on first time in the row. The beatdrop has something that makes me fight over not crying. Tears appear in my eyes when i even think about the song, it bring backs so many memories! Even when i don't think about anything but just hear it, it instantly makes me feel sad, it feels like its literally attached to those memories, good old times...

I created my account when I was 9 or 10 years old in early 2010, this song just brought back a wave of nostalgia. So nice to hear this song again man ROBLOX really was a very huge part of my childhood. I am 23 years old now. I still log in from time to time but it's not the same as it used to be... I remember this was the song of one of the very first roblox horror games I played back as a kid
@@GospodinSlav I've got to stop cringing at kids born in 2010 who find old roblox "nostalgic" given the fact that I did the same in 2018, although the old roblox I found nostalgic was 2013 roblox, and I actually started playing back then.
To this day this song is still so amazing. It’s full of a sense of dread, emotion, and exciting hopefulness at the same time. It gives the feeling of impending doom sweeping on the land, and when all hope was lost you took a final stand to try and ward it off. Absolute goosebumps
Man you just brought me back to when I made a version of the Wolves by Kanye West intro loop with the Winds of Fjords samples because that song plays when SpongeBob/the milkman levitates, why not also when the flying zombies fly?
I remember that time back in... uhhh.... 2019 or 2020 I think it was, when I would open up Roblox. I'd sign in, and click on Dynamic Ship Simulator 3. And as the game was loading via horrendously counting up to 4,000 then back down to 0 *(It takes anywhere from 2 minutes to 30 minutes)* , this music would play. DSS3 was the game that had first introduced me to this music, and ever since then, whenever I hear this music, I thought of that game. I was a bit younger then, so I suppose I had thought that the game devs had created the music. *(Much to my regret now.)* But now that I'm older, I have realized that you are the creator of the music that started my time on Roblox. I thank you for bringing me and many others, memories that will last for years to come. I hope you are doing well, and stay safe my friend.
I think my mind automatically started to create lyrics for that song about how nature became one complex sentient being that found humanity as its disease and did everything to erase it...
i remember back in 2009, i would play zombie survival game, and this song used to HAUNT ME! I remember i would always play the game with my volume turned all the way down! but 14 years later and i realize this song is AMAZING! and doesnt haunt me as much as it pleases me! I love this song!
My god, this is beatiful! There was a game I first played on Roblox way back in 2011. It was called Armoured Warships. It had two bases on each side. It was a Capture the flag style. there was the speed boats peopled used that went like "tutututututuututututu" as you sped up. people flying in bloxy like planes. people sniping on the islands with rocket launchers and of course. This song was playing. I miss that game so much.

This song was barely used in 2008 stop lying😭🙏
I gotta hand it to you, this song is truly a masterpiece. You have done a very good job. Through this piece you have created nostalgia for so many kids including myself, and I thank you for that!
I heard this every time I played roblox zombie games. It always made me imagine sacrificing myself to help the rest of the team survive. :'^)

Fun fact: the game already forgotten, if u dont know what game am i talking about, im talking about game that u have to defend ur base from killers
Dawn of the zombies 2009 classic
Build to Survive the Zombies was my shit man... fuck I feel old
AHHH THE NOSTALGIA FROM WHEN I PLAYED THE RAKE WHEN IT WAS IN BETA BACK IN 2017 AS THE DAYTIME SONG-
Wow can’t believe this is the story behind Wind Of Fjords.
FINALLY SOMEBODY REMEMBERS THE RAKE BETA (its kinda the reason i know this song, i joined in 2016 and rake was the third horror game i played. it was in the v7 era of the game)
i think this played in roblox tsunami simulator back in 2019-2020 and this gives me memories
now the game doesn’t even have music playing :(
I will never forget this song and all the amazing Roblox games I’ve played as a kid. Really was my moments of where I just felt free and could be anything I want.
I fucking heard this 15+ years ago
I thought I was insane and that it was a song that never existed
I FINALLY FOUND YOU
same
SAME BRO I WAS SO SURPRISED
even though this song is 20 years old it's never gotten old
Never has,
Never will.
@@minebrandon95264 If more remixes come out then yeah it'll never get old, but each remix have to be more epic then the last.
@@1EAS1World with how talented some members of the Roblox community are, that'll happen, plus it doesn't have to be every remix, it just has to be an upward slope when averaged out in the line of best fit.
WAIT WHAT?!
15 years.
I have heard a lot of "remasters" of old tracker music from their original creators, this is one of the few that actually sounds like an improvement.
This gave me nostalgia I really wanted one cry remembering games in Roblox like tycoons, survive and kill the killers in Area 51, tornado alley, zombie survival, and build to surviveI miss these games so much
I've listened to this song a lot of times, it just brings me happiness. Thank you for making this!
Not gonna lie,it was worth it... even if it's short lived...
I mean, the entire music took only 3 minutes so listening this remaster was worthwhile...
meanwhile the great strategy is 5 minutes, and even if you find that long at least it means we have alot of 2006 roblox footage
These were the magical times of roblox, how i miss hearing that music on storm chasers sim's.
2010/2015.
ngl I remember those days but mostly from imagine dragons for some reason???
The rake?
Do you remember when we played The Rake Classic Edition for the first time?
MAN WISH ROBLOX NEVER TOOK DOWN YOUR MUSICS ITS GOOD NGL
I fucking love the vibe of this song. It's lyrical, sad, slow, monumental, makes you feel stuff. Very inspirational.
This song really gives off apocalypse / post-apocalypse vibes, when something terrible happened, and youre just left to the consequences, trying to fight your way to live a bit more
The song fits the end of the world or an apocalypse
Actually it's in a roblox game
this give me nostalgia while playing horror battle on roblox, i just loved that music when i was a child. Didn't heard it for quite long but finally after these years when playing area 51 i found the music name and memories just came back. I thank you for making that music.
It’s actually amazing that this was made with such limited tools, AND for it to take off! Bravo to you Minomus, and good luck with other tracks in the future!
I just randomly clicked on this video, seeing "roblox soundtrack" and was interested to see what it was. Little did I know I clicked on the build to survive zombies theme song, and oh my goodness, the memories unlocked, and nostalgia distributed by the click of a mouse is amazing. Thank you for making a childhood song for me, and millions of others around the world.
I read "misty field where you fought" and immediately though of tornado alley 2 for some reason. But do you mean Build to Survive the Zombies?
@@minebrandon95264 I'm bummed that I don't have any game to tie it to, It always just manifested in all sorts of games during the 2012-2014 period, but Build to Survive was actually one of the only games I can physically remember played this song, I guess the games are long gone, entrenched in the burrows of Lua code ig.
just realized that the stuff in the background is the tracker software haha.. i always thought it was a building in the thumbnail. great track!
Well spotted
This track brings back a lot of memories.. Thank you so much for creating this incredible piece
You're welcome!
This has a special place in my heart thank you for this I was looking everywhere for the soundtrack. For me this song feels like a rainy day filled with dark clouds as strong winds pick you off the ground adventuring into the unknown.
Definitly up there as some of the greatest tracker music for me, hearing it now brings tears to the eye!
Thank u for bringing those awesome memories man
This song is beautiful, I joined in 2010 and never played SFOTH but I heard this song a lot in build to survive the zombies
I was born in 2010, started bobloc in 2017, yet I still find this nostalgic for some reason.
@@GospodinSlav I've got to stop cringing at kids born in 2010 who find old roblox "nostalgic" given the fact that I did the same in 2018, although the old roblox I found nostalgic was 2013 roblox, and I actually started playing back then.
this sounds awesome, especially the 2022 remastered version. it's great.
Memories of the past, fade into our futures. Always Loved this track, definitely worth the buy.
This song had been stuck in my head since 2009, especially that 2:29 broken key repeating
SAME BRO
To this day this song is still so amazing. It’s full of a sense of dread, emotion, and exciting hopefulness at the same time. It gives the feeling of impending doom sweeping on the land, and when all hope was lost you took a final stand to try and ward it off. Absolute goosebumps
Did anyone ascend while listening to this? I definitely did.
Man you just brought me back to when I made a version of the Wolves by Kanye West intro loop with the Winds of Fjords samples because that song plays when SpongeBob/the milkman levitates, why not also when the flying zombies fly?
You gave us all very good memories when we were kids on Roblox. Love from a fellow Finn 🇫🇮
ive been looking for this song everywhere and i have finally found it
I remember that time back in...
This is the perfect zombies or team-survival horror game music.
Exactly what i thought
man it is so perfect that im not going to pay the original composer who has had their music stolen for over a decade, and probably more to come
I think my mind automatically started to create lyrics for that song about how nature became one complex sentient being that found humanity as its disease and did everything to erase it...
hearing this song in horror games like "rake" is a masterpiece for all of roblox horror. And i still listen to it ;) and its fire
i remember back in 2009, i would play zombie survival game, and this song used to HAUNT ME! I remember i would always play the game with my volume turned all the way down! but 14 years later and i realize this song is AMAZING! and doesnt haunt me as much as it pleases me! I love this song!
1:54 This is the best part hands down

@@temporix2 how?
The first Roblox audio was in fact better than all of the new ones. R.I.P Roblox audios
Wondering if I can cover this song? This is amazing, epic and gives me lots of nostalgia, I'd put some guitar over the lead.
Sure thing, go ahead!
oh my goodness you did cover it! and i have to say that it sounds great
I can't seem to find the cover. Can I have a link?

Why the #### does this sound so nostalgic, I didn't startvplaying Roblox until 2018 or so
I never knew this song in the first place, but hearing how good it was and the history behind it, such a deep history of pure commitment.
Glad that this is a part of my childhood
The sun will eventually set in the world, but this song will be played as it will soon rise.
My god, this is beatiful! I never listened to this song with such quality before.. it was always that one compressed in roblox audio with the weird glitch in the final, thanks a lot for this, it sure brings back some good memories.
It's indeed a shame to hear the team behind roblox back in the time basically "took" ur music.
From find the markers lol
@@BFJAM What
Roblox also did steal the bridge theme from mortal combat 3 music and slightly remixed it.
There was a game I first played on Roblox way back in 2011. It was called Armoured Warships. It had two bases on each side. It was a Capture the flag style.
there was the speed boats peopled used that went like "tutututututuututututu" as you sped up.
people flying in bloxy like planes.
people sniping on the islands with rocket launchers
and of course. This song was playing.
I miss that game so much.
i was a fan of skaven, purple motion & the rest of the future crew before i first heard thsi song in roblox. when i heard the synthaxe sample, i almost had a flashback. dear god it's all connected
SHOOT SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS STUFF ABOUT THE DEMOSCENE, OKAY I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
1. What was it like in 1995 when Big Jim was releasing new music? Was he actually very big, or did you have no clue that he existed until now.
2. Besides Ice Frontier, Starshine, Pinball Fantasies, and Second Reality, what other songs did the samples come from?
3. What's a Synthaxe?
I will never forget it, this song is so memorable that not even my memory being erased will make it go.
thank you .
I think you can still hear it from the survive the area 57
1:48 why is this part especially so saddening? almost makes me tear up everytime don't know why
So many people from 2009-2012 have heard this song and have been a veteran Roblox player.
Probably back in the day they were sitting on their Windows XP computer or laptop and playing Sword Fight On The Heights, while hearing this legend of a song.
I used to play roblox quite a bit and the old Dynamic Ship Simulator games had this (and the current DSS iii) and it gives me so much nostalgia
1:54 my favourite part
This means a lot to me, thank you.
survive the killers in area 51... classic memorys.
Yes
and rake..
One of the best OG music pieces that existed back in the days of early ROBLOX!
This sounds like every flash game from the late 2000s
mostly the halloweens, and ofcourse Roblox
roblox is and was not a flash game...
Thank you for creating this masterful music, so many memories would be different without it.
God how I miss the good ol' days.
This song snapped my braincells in the right order growing up, thank you.
Time goes really fast
Sucks that The Rake : Fan Remake is a bit broken now, game used to be my favourite, but man does this song bring me SO much nostalgia, Thank you for making this masterpiece.
This remaster of this song is awesome. Really brings those old roblox moments back to me when games used this song. now this is the only old roblox I can remember. but at least it still has that nostalgia feeling
Me and the boys getting ready in the rake with the stunner and uv
Thanks for the awesome memories in roblox
A masterpiece full of nostalgia
You've given me such good memories on Roblox so long ago. Thank you so much for bringing this back to us and non glitchy. You're an amazing soul
I remember when this music got added to roblox, was incredible, i had 8 years when this happened, 22 years or more have passed and this song still moves me, and this song still will be and will aways be my favorite song ever. Thanks for making our childhood, Softknees.
