    May want to update this, bud. I followed this and was audited - maybe things have been changed, in the last couple years. My audit guidelines said (copy and pasted, from link they sent):
    A brief, one-sentence project objective
    - Project deliverables summarized by process areas (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring
    and Controlling, and Closing - abbreviations are acceptable IN, PL, EX, MC & CL)
    - A brief, one-sentence project outcome
    Project descriptions should be a high level summary of the tasks you led and directed on the
    project (e.g. Initiating: develop project charter, WBS etc.; Planning: Scope definition etc.; and so
    on). Project management experience is required in each of the process areas when all projects are
    totaled, but not on each project. Project descriptions must be provided for all projects submitted on
    application.
    PMI defines a project as a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product service or
    result. Every project creates a unique product, service or result such as:
    A product that can be either a component or another item, an enhancement of an item, or an
    end item in itself
    • A service or a capability to perform a service (e.g., a business function that supports
    production or distribution)
    • An improvement in the existing product or service lines (e.g., A Six Sigma product undertaken
    to reduce defects)
    • A result, such as an outcome or document (e.g., research project that develops knowledge that
    can be used to determine whether a trend exists or a new process will benefit society)
    So, focus on the work completed, by using the key words of each of the phases (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing). If they don't see the phases on your application, then automatic audit.
    Hope this helps. I'll update you on how the audit goes.

      Hi Greg - what happened with the audit? Did you have to give a lot of extra details? I ask as my company might not be ok with me going through very detailed documentation as it is sensitive data.

    thank you, Chris for this video. I took your advice, and although I felt a tad guilty for taking ALL the credit of my projects, I was able to successfully craft it in a way to highlight my leadership skills. My application was approved and with no audit. Woohoo! I will clear the PMP 1st try on Feb 2018!

      Great Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you thought about - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (should be on google have a look)? It is a good exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my cooworker at last got great success with it.

    This is awesome; there is a lot of conflicting info floating around online. Should I still use the process tasks in the description? (i.e. identify stakeholders, developed project plan, controlled schedule)

    Thanks for video. I assume that pattern of project description yet does'n gearantee you from being audited?

    • @ChrisDanielPMP
      @ChrisDanielPMP  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everyone is susceptible for an audit within the first year. The only thing that will help you avoid the audit is to be truthful in your descriptions. Complete them honestly, and make sure someone can vouch for your work. After that, you're golden!

    • @Andrei-bj1ub
      @Andrei-bj1ub 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Within the first year of PMI membership? Thank you for comment, I am planning to be truthful.

    Thank you so much, what a relief!
    One more thing wanted to ask that is it fine if one adds a couple of projects in order to meet the requirements of 4500 hours. In my case, it is 03.

      Unfortunately, the free consultation does not include application review. That process takes much longer than 20 minutes.

      Good to know. I'm contemplating driving to WDC for your 6/11 bootcamp and want to do a CAPM on demand class (PM Essentials) before as I would feel more confident passing the PMP exam. Any recommendations? PMI? In Alexandria, any discount on nearby lodging using your name? Thanks!

    I have a quick question. What happens if you have a 3 year bachelor degree, not 4 years. Thanks for your videos btw.

    • @ChrisDanielPMP
      @ChrisDanielPMP  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shauna Vassell you still need 3 yrs of PM experience. The 3yr BA/BS works. Prove the 4500 hrs of experience and you're all set!

      An audit is ok. Just make sure you follow the steps outlined by PMI. Get the signatures, and make sure you follow the process EXACTLY how they stpulated.
