- I apologize to everyone for the unfortunate issues faced in the making of the video! I hope you enjoyed nonetheless! For everyone to know, at minute 34 second 37 that burp wasn't me but made it through editing by accident😂😭 If you're interested in purchasing Seestar, order here: store.seestar....
Order from High Point Scientific: www.highpoints...

nice burp you got there at 34:34 xD, nice video!
Absolute killer, my editor (myself) ruined me🫥🫥🫥🤣🤣🤣
Just to let you know you don't need to manually point the Seestar S50 telescope north before turning it on. The Seestar S50 is a smart telescope equipped with a built-in GPS, electronic compass, and automatic star alignment features. Once you power it on, it automatically determines its orientation and location, so you don't need to align it manually.
After powering on the telescope, it will use its sensors to determine its position and perform an automatic star alignment, which allows it to accurately track and point to celestial objects without needing to be manually aligned to the north.
That turned out beautiful. I have a seestar s50 on its way now. I've never messed around with this level of photo processing.. it feels kinda daunting. But I'm sure thanks to videos like yours i can fumble my way through eventually
I just found out this telescope exists, I have been researching and this video sold me on making the purchase, good work!
When I am in the search mode and I search for hypothetically M13. It finds it, and centers it, I get the screen that says "GO TO" or Sync and I push GoTo, but then nothing happens, How do I get to the screen to start taking a photo of M13. On this video it looks like it goes automatically to that screen with the big red circle at the bottom. But Mine does not go that automatically. What am I missing.
Your video is very thorough. I NEED to undo the "connect to home Wi-Fi" crap did to my stuff ! It completely f'd up my tablet!
I'm waiting for my S50 to delivered, so it's good to see it in operation in your videos. I will need to learn how to use Siril to get the best out of the image data, so I will be referring to your videos to get me started. Thanks.
Sounds good, thanks for watching!
How does this thing do such long exposures without any star trailing without being on an equatorial mount/polar aligned? Must be magic!
Not magic but a software algorithm. Though I do believe at least the earliest software didn't compensate for field rotation, perhaps later ones did/will.
Only do 10 seconds exposures each time.
How long should we shoot for without post processing?
I would think if you set your Seestar to the arear your viewing would reduce field rotation, rather than have it facing North or South
which lvl of LP you have on that spot according the seestar s50 app ?
Good overview
Thanks. I like to watch your content as I await my S50 (now due mid-Dec... boo!). 34:35 made me laugh! (I think you went Super-nova!). I wondered if you'd consider some content on the Pillars of creation in the Eagle Nebula using your S50. I'd really love to see what the S50 can do with these, as we have many great points of reference for comparison. Anyway,, hope chop that tree down soon! :)
Oh Lord how could I forget to edit that out. Wasn't me, i wasn't alone during recording 😂😂😂😂 that's embarrassing though.
It was fun until the end then it came to complicated. Can you see anything with the telescope without all the processing
What software are doinv all the processesing on please. Buddy?.
Siril!
@@ScottCastrophotography thanks ill check it ou xd
What bortle you were shooting this from?
Bortle 4
I ordered mine a few weeks ago but damn do they have trouble getting the Seestar out to people...
It's on high demand, crazy amount of units they need to ship, or even MAKE
Freaking 8 and a half minutes of this dude attempting to capture targets obstructed by trees. Why not edit that out???
At least he tried!
I love nature in all it's forms! The beuty in an insect (Macro photography) to incomprehensibly large and distant, capturing galaxies! Embrace that beautiful OAK. I do appreciate your frustration, but it also pains me to think you'd even consider killing something that old and irreplaceable. Move your point of imaging!
I have a tall tree to the east not allowing me to image until that object is at 60 degrees or so. I deal with it.
Unfortunately the tree is rotting from the inside due to its old age, so cutting it down would avoid any risks of damage. It's large branches are breaking off every time a storm comes through. Unfortunately my point of imaging is surrounded by trees, but that's the biggest of them, hope it doesn't fall one day and crush my house and telescopes🫣
That changes alot of things. This is comon with old oaks. We had an historic oak on GE (my employer) land. Oldest known oak in Wisconsin. They did major rehab using galvanized plate to wrap part of the trunk. But falling limbs wasn't an issue. My apologies. I'm a certified tree hugger and bird nerd.
NOW please
34:34 Prosit 😂
Excellent. Just one quick question. How do you select the number of exposures?
I think you do it with your finger
Yes sorry. I was getting frustrated that it was more about the ads.
There were a lot of ads in the video? I'm not aware of how many are in the video, TH-cam adds it in automatically. Could you let me know perhaps what time stamps they were at?
No one on this planet is interested in disturbing trees.
Publishing results means concentrating on THESE science data !
The tree mentioned is unfortunately rotting from the inside, just waiting for it to fall. It's a very old tree, consumed by termites
I were to order the Seestar S50 today (26Oct23), when should I realistically expect it to arrive? I'm located in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
I'd say probably December. But the longer you wait to order, the longer you'll have to wait to receive
That's encouraging ... will be in Arkansas for the April 2024 eclipse. :)
Boy can you talk a lot of repetitive turn offs!
@@ScottCastrophotographycriticism can be good even if it's trying to be insulting You can pull the a lesson from it making it a positive
True true good point👍🏼
Hi there, nice video, cannot wait for my SS50 to arrive. Can I ask what kind of extra power source you use?
I use an extension cord and USB c charger
@@ScottCastrophotography Thanks. Just a regular charger? Or one that has specific features?
@@uglydude2007 they send a USB-A To USB-C in the Seestar box, that one works great
Another nice one Scott! We all have issues when we do astrophotography you just show them which i think is alright as we all can learn from them! Thanks for your Efforts!! Try M101 for a galaxy if you have the sky view of it!
Will do👍🏼
I like your astrophotography video's. You use all power od this small portable mount.
Can you print the photos after processing? There’s understandably lots of noise and not much detail, but I’m wondering if this telescope is really only for sharing photos on social media due to the low res results, or if I could print at 8x10 or larger. Can you give me your opinion?
Awaiting my Seestar in December from Hi Point. Super pumped🔭👍
Excited, and for good reason😄
just ordered this telescope a few hours ago. and yeah, my house is a no-go for any astronomy due to too many trees--but fortunately, the S50 is super portable :D
Trust me, you'll love it😏
What does the term Enhancing mean? Is it live stacking?
Yes, enhancing refers to the live stacking process
fkn burp😂
We don't talk about that🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
