Got the lime green, black Aus8 combo.
It's my favourite EDC simply because of the size & weight. You just don't know you have it on you.
Handles grippy, blade sharpens easy, open & shuts easy enough, locks up solid enough.
Just a great utility workhorse, hard wearing kinda knife for not much money

I have a black AUS 8. Probably one of my most carryable knives along with the Buck 112 LT.

I have the discontinued larger version of this knife, model 4070. It's is a beast of a folder, big, heavy and with a really thick AUS8 blade. It's the regular Dozier Hunter on steroids. The handle is pretty blocky in keeping with the size of the knife. It's dark in color including the pocket clip, so I wish it had a lanyard hole like the regular Dozier.

Just got one, very stiff out of the box. Any break-in tips or tricks?

Bought the black handle blade 2 years ago. I beat the sh-- out of it everyday in construction. I sharpen it before I go in on my diamond blade. The locking mech.on the blade is solid.for 25 bucks can't beat it.

Tyler, I really enjoyed this review, and I'm a big fan of your channel. I have to ask...Is there a technique to being to open a thumb-stud knife as quickly and easily as you do ? I can do it on my thumb-stud knives, but just more deliberately, and slowly. Sometimes I even have to use two hands.
    Keep up the great work.
I have this knife in the D2 version, and it's become a favorite camping/hiking knife.
    Many thanks, again. 🙂

I have the orange one in front of me. Love the knife. I just wished that Bob would team up with someone like ZT/Kershaw to make a better folder (in the $100-$200 range) of his design...

No liners would be a little bit worrying if i didn't already have some experience with the grik. The price is pretty correct.

i love how the currency exchange is like 150% USD to CAD, yet these are like 200% of the US price in Canada.. $42.99 CAD and $61.99 CAD .. i'll probably opt for the AUS-8

Hard to separate value from price. Great bang for the buck and even stands up to some more expensive knives. YMMV. Thanks for watching.

It’s really good. The only upgrades would be knives with stronger locks, I’m thinking in this case of the slightly overpriced Cold Steel Verdict with the TriAd lock. I don’t see any performance up grade with Spyderco lock backs or liner locks, short of sprint run super steels. With the Bugout you gain a stronger lock but the handle is carved out to lighten up, hence quite flexy and imho too weak for high pressures uses. AUS8 on the Dozier is a fantastic tough steel, easy to sharpen. I’d rather carry two AUS8 Kabar Doziers than a single, much longer lasting D2 edition - one AUS8 version as a daily user stropped frequently, the other kept in reserve with a pristine mirror finished 17 degrees edge.

Came dull as a butter knife. And it was terrible to sharpen I had to remove the thumb stud. I also own the bugout 10x better than this cheap imitation.
